School of Snakes {or; Hermione finally faces her feelings}
Summary
Hermione arrives at Grimmauld place only to be met by none other than Narcissa Malfoy (or should I say; Narcissa Black)For the first time in her life, Hermione was lost for an answer for something, rendered speechless at what had just been insinuated. "What a preposterous idea" was the answer she finally settled on before she stormed out of the room.
Note
I have no idea what this is or where it's going, I'm just going with the flow atp.Edit: the writing in the currently published chapters is far from my best work and I am aiming to rewrite them when I can find the time.I've just come off of some anxiety meds that fucked with my head so I'm trying to correct all the mistakes I made IRL before I post thenext chapter, although I assume it will be in the next month or so.Also I forgot to put a TW here so... here it is:Mentions of Torture (Non-Graphic)And signs alluding to PTSDFor those wishing to skip the scene, it happens when the door opens.Basically its a brief flashback to the time Bellatrix tortured Hermione

It's a little squished in here

About 20 minutes later, after Narcissa had a fit at the idea of sharing a limousine between four people, they were finally on their way to Hogwarts. Hermione and Narcissa had ended up sharing a limo while Draco and Harry shared the other with the minister. Obviously none of them were happy with the arrangement except for maybe Kingsley, who could now badger Harry about forgoing his 7th year to join the ministry early.

Due to all the muggle celebrities that raved about their limousines, Hermione had been under the impression that they were spacious, however she had come to discover that even though she had moved to the other side of the car, she was still far too close to Narcissa. Still close enough to inhale the woman's intoxicating perfume, of sage and cinnamon and parchment and mint toothpaste and....what was she doing?

The woman with bi-coloured hair must have sensed her attention or perhaps read her thoughts as she stopped looking out of the window and stared at the brunette. Hermione gasped, she couldn't help it. Narcissa was just so.... beautiful. There was no other word for it really. The sun shone on her hair, making it almost glow and her eyes....how had she not noticed this before? No wonder she was so arrogant, with a face like that she had every right to be. Hermione shook herself out of her thoughts, telling herself that being attractive was not an excuse to watch someone being tortured without doing anything. She looked over to the woman that had been occupying her thoughts and saw a knowing smirk on her face.

"I would appreciate it if you would stop reading my thoughts", Hermione remarked with a blush spreading over her face.

"Well, Miss Granger, I would appreciate it if you stopped sending said thoughts straight into my defences", Narcissa sneered.

"Excuse me, for not being trained in occlumency your royal highness", Hermione snapped back.

Narcissa let out a very unladylike snort and the car started to lift into the air.

An uncomfortable silence lingered for what seemed like hours, but after casting a spell to check the time, it appeared to have only been twenty minutes. The silence was only broken at Narcissa's scream as the car lurched to the left, throwing the woman with bi-coloured hair right on-top of the brunette. Both women froze.

Hermione was barely breathing, unable to concentrate on forming words, as she felt Narcissa's warmth above her. For someone who was typically known as an ice queen she almost emanated heat. The brunette looked up, to see that the woman with bi-coloured hair was blushing deeply. It suits her, Hermione thought before deciding to take advantage of the situation.

"It seems that the almighty Narcissa Black thought she was above using a seat belt", the brunette smirked.

Narcissa moved her face closer,  almost touching the brunette's. "Maybe, I just wanted to have some fun and make a certain little witch flustered." At this Hermione blushed, her face reddening even further, than it had at being so close to the woman with bi-coloured hair.

Saving them from the awkward moment (but possibly creating one that was more so), the door to the limo opened and their driver poked his head in. "Sorry, am I interrupting something?", he asked, confused. Narcissa was the first to reply, "of course not" and quickly scrambled off of Hermione, to sit on the other side of the car.

"Well then, I regret to inform you that we had to make an emergency landing and have to make our way to Hogwarts on foot", the driver said a little too cheerily.

"What about apparition", Narcissa asked and Hermione started to nod in agreement before she caught herself.

"Unfortunately the spot where we have landed is close enough to the school that it's protected by the same anti apparition net, I'll wait here for the minister while you two make your way to the castle", our driver replied. "Also", he added, "your trunks may not be there by tomorrow morning so perhaps take a small change of clothes."

Both of the women glared at him, insulted they he believed they would be unable to transfigure their own clothes- the horror!

"Sorry, sorry", he said looking positively terrified.

"Shall we, Miss Granger?"Narcissa asked, exiting the car and  beginning to walk towards the castle, which was visible just over the hill.

Hermione didn't reply but followed the woman with bi-coloured hair, staying slightly behind her.

This was not going to be fun. At all. What a horrendous start to the year, the brunette thought.
