Chapter 1

They made you of magic ✧.*

Starting from the beginning can be hard to recall, though for Mrs Potter the first of September was always a date embedded in her head, especially when both her kids were going off to Hogwarts together for the first time. Her thoughts were drowning her all in one that she didn't even notice or hear the bickering between James and Victoria Potter.

"James, get out!" Victoria's voice echoed outside the bathroom door, frustration evident in every tap of her foot. "I left my toothbrush in there!"

On the other side of the wooden door stood a hyper boy, combing each piece of hair in a specific way. This year was going to be his year, he assured himself. This was going to be the year he'd finally asked Lily to go out with him. Who cares if he's just twelve?

"Well then, maybe you'll learn not to leave your stuff in a public area," he continued to ignore her shouts, not caring how loud or aggressive they were getting to be.

***

Just like James, Sirius Black was incredibly excited for another year at Hogwarts - especially now that he'd be sharing in the joy with his two younger siblings. Both of them being there with him meant a happier environment to spend time together. As for Regulus, he was terrified, frightened even. That does not mean he wasn't ready to leave. His face was pale from emotions being mushed altogether; though leaving him alone with his thoughts never felt like a safe idea.

"You ready?" Emerson peaked her head into her twin brother's room. She caught him sitting beside his trunk; even though he was upset, his posture did not falter one bit. Something about Emerson stood jealous of.

Both families made it to the station. The Potters carried laughter filled with an intense amount of joy, while the Black family held themselves high and tall. Though Sirius would never give in to that.

Before leaving for the train, Euphemia pulled both her kids into her arms, giving them a short sweet kiss on the tip of their heads. Fleamont brushed off the tears threatening to water down his face.

"Are you crying?" Victoria questioned, scrunching her eyebrows together.

Fleamont brushed her off with his hand, signaling he was okay. "No, the weather just isn't in my favour."

Once James potted Sirius making his way towards the train, a thrill of joy overtook his sense and he was eager to leave. "May we go now?"

"Before leaving, we'd like to remind you to not put water balloons under your teachers' seats, and show your sister around." Euphemia caressed his face, smiling down at them both.

James nodded, smirking to himself proudly. That one Fleamont had taught him. Just like he taught him everything he knows about Quidditch.

With one last hug from each parent, they were off. James held onto his sister's left elbow to ensure she wouldn't get lost. They waved goodbye to both their parents before entering the train. He took Victoria over to the compartment he'd share with Sirius and two of his other close friends.

Her eyes took in each detail spread on the train. All the layouts seemed so perfect throughout. She would've wandered around a little more if she didn't have James practically sprinting over to his compartment.
Once he reached it he greeted two boys already inside, "V this is Remus," he motioned to the young brunette boy who gave her a tight smile joined with a light nod, "and this is Peter," he then motioned over to the blonde sitting right beside Remus. He waved at her before staring down at the seat in front of him.

"Guys, this is my younger sister Victoria," she waved at both boys once more but offered them both a warm smile, "now all we need is Sirius."

Walburga Black came to a halt, keeping a good distance from herself and the station. Her eyes remained stern, her expression stayed cold. Sirius would normally go by himself to the station, but he wanted to take his two younger siblings along with him.

"Be smart," Walburga demanded. She reminded them of their duties as students. They were not to cause trouble or create unwanted attention – something Sirius was unfamiliar with.

Nobody said a word. They simply walked alongside Sirius when their mother waved her hand for them to leave. Sirius then told them both about all the adventurous things Hogwarts offers. He gripped their forearms to lead them over to the shared compartment he shared with all his best friends.
He slid the door to the compartment open to find four figures already inside, "Hello to you all," Sirius made his way inside the compartment inspecting the new face, "and to you," he gave her one of those stupid smiles he never cannot do anytime he tries to flirt.

"These are the twins I've been telling you a lot about, this is Regulus," Regulus looked at them all without saying a single word, "this is Emerson," Emerson smiled brightly at them all, her hair turned into a light ginger orange. The excitement in her really showed.

"I love your hair," Victoria pointed out, returning the bright smile being offered. Emerson held out her hand, thinking it was an appropriate way of greeting. "My name is Victoria."

"I love your name," Emerson wasn't lying. She really did.

"Would you like to join us?" Sirius turned his attention to the twins. They both looked at each other before deciding they'd rather go off to find a compartment for themselves.
They had made their way out of the compartment just when they heard the steps of loud shoes trailing behind them.

Victoria walked alongside them without saying much. "Mind if I join?"

The twins shook their heads. After a short while of looking for an empty, and I mean empty, compartment, they settled for one. Taking their seats, Victoria immediately learned Emerson loved to talk. It was a matter of seconds after the silence broke Emerson into talking.

They joked, talked, and laughed. Even Regulus let out a laugh or two.

"Wanna hear a funny story about Reggie?!" Emerson suddenly perked up when she remembered the sudden memory. Regulus lowered his book slowly to look at his sister, dreading the story she was about to tell.

"I love a good story." Victoria shrugged her shoulders.

"Don't you dare Emerson!"

"Alright, well, here it goes!"

Sorting Ceremony✧.*✧˚ · .

Emerson was bursting with excitement right next to her brother and Victoria. She was betting on getting into Ravenclaw and was hoping Victoria would as well. She wanted to be in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, but knowing Emerson's parents, if she were in Hufflepuff, she would never hear the end. And being in Gryffindor would only remind them of their "blood traitor" of a son. She didn't feel like she fit Slytherin well, so her best bet was Ravenclaw.
s long as she had a friend.

The list went on and on, with students getting placed in their houses. And it was now Emerson's turn.

"Emerson Black."

Now, this caught Sirius Black's attention, just like everyone else's. Emerson was now nervous. She didn't realise how many students were now staring at her with most of their full attention. Maybe it was because she was a part of the Black family?
Emerson knew very well Regulus was going to get out into Slytherin just to please their parents, but she didn't want to disobey them, just anger them. Plus, Ravenclaw wasn't too disappointing for them. It was actually a pretty good match with Slytherin.

"Mmm, another Black I see..." the Sorting Hat startled Emerson a bit. "You're quite different, just so similar to your older brothers...Slytherin doesn't seem to fit...Gryffindor would work but to reach your goals Ravenclaw would be the choice...Hufflepuff would also be a great pick... let's see..."

"RAVENCLAW!" The Sorting Hat shouted. Now Victoria felt sad that she would have to choose whether to be in Gryffindor with her brother or Ravenclaw with her new friend. Sirius was cheering proudly for his sister, while Regulus was sad he couldn't be in the same house as his twin.

A few moments later, it was now Regulus. Regulus was begging to be put into Slytherin.

"SLYTHERIN!" The Sorting Hat yelled. Sirius and Emerson both knew he would be in Slytherin, so it wasn't much of a shock.

Victoria was now waiting patiently for her turn to arrive. She was fiddling with the ends of her hair, looking down at the floor and up once in a while.
Victoria was trembling with nerves. She wanted to be in the same house as her older brother, but she didn't exactly mind being in any of the others a

"Victoria Potter."

Emerson was now saving a spot for her new friend to sit at. She would be sad if she wasn't in Ravenclaw with her, but was hoping she would get into Hufflepuff if she didn't get in Ravenclaw.

"Ah and here's another Potter, interesting...you definitely fit the qualities of a true Hufflepuff...Ravenclaw is also an excellent house for you...all of your talents will shine in Ravenclaw...now let us see..."

"RAVENCLAW!" shouted the Sorting Hat once more. Emerson was applauding loudly, motioning for Victoria to take a seat beside her. James was also applauding loudly for his sister. Regulus was upset he couldn't be with his sister, but was happy for her.

It thrilled Emerson that her house was Ravenclaw. Upset when she caught Regulus sulking on the other side with all the Slytherins. Though he should be happy once their parents found out about their houses, they'd be thrilled beyond belief with Regulus. Emerson was not so much, still not as bad as Sirius. Oh, how they hated they sorted him into Gryffindor, and Sirius knew that too.
