Chapter 5

~Y/n~

Defense against the Dark Arts, or DADA class was the worst this year. Snape was teaching, and I had no friends in this class to make it bearable. On top of that, I barely slept last night trying to study for Herbology… I will have to ask Neville for help later. I was currently sitting at a desk in the DADA room, but Snape hadn't yet arrived. But Draco did.

“Move Granger, I’m going to sit here.” He said pushing my sleepy head to the side, which forced me to move my body down the bench.

“You don’t normally sit with me, what's up?” I asked, rubbing my eyes.

“You seem tired, I’m going to make sure you don’t fall asleep.” He said, pulling out his book and a piece of parchment.

“Is it that obvious?” I sighed.

“Yes, you look like you were dreaming about butterbeer a monument ago.”

I slapped his shoulder and opened my DADA book, looking at the pictures while my head was propped up against my arm. Luckily, this was my last class for the day. I was starting to doze off but everything I did so, Draco nudged me awake. Honestly, if he didn’t I would have gotten a detention. All the notes I did, if I fell asleep for a few minutes he let me copy down.

After class, the sun was setting. It had been a long day, and I didn’t plan on going to the Library. So I guess I might as well get some dinner. When I reached my dorm Ginny was using my mirror and I just tied my hair into a low granny-like bun. I didn’t care if I looked like McGonagall at this point, I was too tired.

Ginny and I walked down together and sat down next to Ron and Harry. I… didn’t have much of an appetite. I ate a few potatoes but nothing much. I was too tired to even chew. My head rested against my hand as Ron shoved me a bit.

“Why do you look so tired? Don’t tell me you're sick?” He asked, looking at my face.

“Why? Do I look pale?”

“Paler than a blood ghost.” He said while chewing his food, “You should go to Madame Pomfrey…”

I shook my head, “No, besides I am just tired. I think I will go to bed now actually…” I said standing up from the table, however, I stood up too quickly and got a bit dizzy. Ron stood up to make sure I didn’t fall backward but I stepped on the other side of the bench and walked off. I heard Hermione call my name, but by the time she did, I was already out the big doors.

I sighed and put a hand on my head. It didn’t feel like I had a fever, nor did anything hurt. I was just tired… As I walked through the halls, a figure suddenly walked beside me.

“Why aren’t you at dinner Granger?” Malfoy asked beside me. I sighed and didn’t even bother replying to him. He didn’t ask any more questions but when we got into brighter light he seemed to look concerned.

“Hey… you don’t look well.” He said, taking my arm and making me face him, “Did you eat anything?”

“I’m not hungry, If I do eat I think I’ll throw up… I haven't slept at all that's why.” I explained quickly, My eyes were burning from the lack of sleep.

“I’ll walk you to your dorm… You look like you’ll faint…” He said holding my arm as we walked to the standard room. The fat lady let us through and he practically carried me up the stairs to my room. He put me on my bed and poured me a glass of water that was on my bedside table handing it to me.

“Drink.” He said sternly.

“Malofy this isn’t-”

He held it closer to my face now, “I’m not asking.” He said and I took the water and drank it halfway. He gave me a look and I finished setting the glass on the bedside table.

He sighed and looked at me with concern, “You do this a lot you know.”

“Do what?” I asked taking me out of its bun.

“Don't take care of yourself.”

I looked up at him, I knew what he was talking about. I knew it was terrible for me too… I just never did anything to fix it. Multiple people have commented on my habits. How I don’t have a routine, how I procrastinate essential things like eating, and sleeping.

“I don’t know… what you are talking about,” I said, starting to braid my hair and looking into my mirror. It was then that I realized how pale I was, and my eyes looked like they needed rest. I didn’t normally look like this.

“Yes, you do.” He said and walked to the door of my room, before he left he spoke one last time, “Get some sleep. We wouldn’t want your pretty eyes to fall out tomorrow.” He joked.

“I will… thanks.” I said with a smile, but my brows furrowed quickly realizing what he said, “Wait what?”

But he was gone.
