World Information
Summary
This is not a new story. This is an info dump and optional to read. I am still in the process of writing everything up, but I am planning on having character profiles, timelines, and condensed world-building information.Feel free to ask questions in the comments, and I'll try to get to them.
Note
This will be updated as I go along.

Anti-Matter Rifle: The Magi response to WMDs. It conjures equal amounts of carbon and anti-matter, resulting in a massive explosion. 1g carbon + 1g antimatter = 40 kiloton explosion. It fires a line of sight; however, if connected with a satellite or ship, the targeting system can be fired at a distance, even in orbit. It requires a massive amount of magic, and before leaving for the DW universe, there were only 6 Magi who could use it.

Casting Assistance Device (CAD): A CAD is any device that aids in casting a spell. A wand is a CAD. After the knowledge to create wands was lost, technological-based CADs were created. These new CADs didn't have the versatility of a wand and were weapon-based as they were made by the military.

Magi (Homo Magus): Magi can be broken down into three groups in different periods. Magi is the most modern name for the species.

  • Wixen: This is the oldest iteration of the species, though their name has been lost to history after their arrival on Earth when they mixed their DNA with humans to give themselves a human appearance. They have less than 1% human DNA. They can live thousands of years baring illness or injury. They are the basis of the stories of High Elves.

They are telepathic and empathic. They are physically stronger than humans and have heightened senses. They produce pheromones used for communication and reproduction; they are similar but weaker than Veela's pheromones. These pheromones can influence humans with weak wills.

They didn't have iron in their bodies; iron was poisonous, and large amounts could kill them. It disrupts the energy (magic) they naturally produce, and the lack of magic will kill them. Their blood uses the metal Orichalcum that acts like iron, and though their blood first looks red, it has a golden shimmer.

Due to their long lives, they had a meagre birth rate, with only an average of 7 children born yearly. They also had long pregnancies that could last between 12-14 months.

  • Wizards/Witches: This iteration came about after the Wixen bred with Humans to the point they bred themselves out of existence, much like the Neanderthal. By the late 20th century, Wizards only had 42% Wixen DNA on average. That amount could be as low as 8% in Muggleborns and 76% in Purebloods.

There are also physical changes from the increase in Human DNA. They lose their inhuman beauty, pheromones, and glowing skin; from the outside, they are indistinguishable from humans. They could also tolerate iron better; it was no longer fatale in large doses. Their bodies still used Orichalcum in place of iron. Their life spans have also sharply decreased, now only living to an average of 180 years. It also affected their ability to use magic, becoming much less potent than their ancestors.

Around this time, the inbreeding occurring within the Pureblood community to retain purity was causing Wizards to lose their ability to manipulate magic. These children were either killed or exiled from the Wizarding community. Those who lived would breed with Humans; only when their descendants bred with another exile's descendants did 'Muggleborns' come about.

This was the same time that 'Light' magic propaganda pushed for more to breed with Humans in an effort to integrate back in with them. The Purebloods refusing to breed with anyone with human DNA causes the 'Pure' Wixen pool to dwindle quickly. Those born to Pureblood/Muggle or Pureblood/Muggleborn (ex: Harry Potter, Albus Dumbledore, Tom Riddle) did get a hybrid effect and were more magically powerful; it only lasted one generation. Because of these examples of the hybrid impact, more breed with Humans.

Another side effect of increased mixing with Humans was the amount of iron they ingested. Iron was no longer fatal but could accumulate within the body, negatively affecting their magic and life span.

This is also the time of the Industrial Revolution. The pollution that the Humans created started affecting their lands, causing many magical species to die. The Human population boom also meant that Humans were beginning to encroach into their spaces. Growing Human cities absorbed many communities, causing them to hide within the city.

  • Magi: After the Wizards lost the First Magi, their population was decimated. They were forced into concentration camps and were experimented on. It wasn't until the Chinese Government got the idea to weaponize the Magi that they regained some freedom, but they were still slaves and had next to no rights. After that, they were forced into an eugenic program trying to make better soldiers and were often bought and sold by countries.

By the late 21st century, the Magi only had 2-9% Wixen DNA. Humans had been breeding more and more Human DNA into the Magi to make them more pliable; however, it came at the cost of their magical power. They were indistinguishable from humans; their bodies now used iron, and there were only trace amounts of Orichalcum.

They lost nearly all their history and knowledge, and a new form of magic manipulation, technologically based, was created. However, they were a shadow of what they once were.

Magi-Tech: The name of the magic-based technology that came about after the fall of the Wizards. Notable pieces:

  • Jumpsuit – the basic uniform of all Magi. It was a standard issue to all. Made from a crystalline weave that enhanced casting abilities. It boosted wandless magic and allowed users to interact with runic seals tattooed on the skin.
  • Armour – The armour could be broken into two components, the body glove and armour.

The body glove functions similarly to the jumpsuit; however, the weave is thicker to provide more protection. Several ports interfaced directly with the body, drawing magic to power the armour. Built-in medical systems monitored the user and could administer stims and medicine as needed. It also covered everything from the neck down and could be environmentally sealed with a helmet.

The armour attached to the body glove protects vital points while maintaining mobility. It also carried the bulk of the environmental systems. There were also magnetic points that allowed the user to holster their CAD.

Mythril: This is a metal that is beyond rare. The only pieces known belong to the oldest known Coven Bonding set. It was brought from the Old World, the homeworld of the Wixen. It is the best magical conductor known and is nearly indestructible. The only way to mould the metal is with magic.

Olde Tongue: Also known as the Olde Language or Ancient Language, every magical being is born knowing. It is the language of magic. How the language is passed down; it's theorized that magic imparts it. However, later generations of magical believe that it is passed down genetically. This is because anyone born with less than 13% Wixen DNA (Muggleborns) loses the ability to understand it.

Orichalcum: A magical metal that was very rare and necessary for all magical life. It replaces iron in function for both animals and plants. It is exceptionally magically conductive. Because of its necessity for magical life, it was banned from use in anything other than food production. Knowledge of the metal was hidden, and only those under severe secrecy oath had any knowledge of the metal, such as the British Unspeakables. The Ancient Wixen brought the metal to Earth and used it to terraform areas that later became Wizard settlements.

Temporal Cold War: After the fall of the Time Lords during the Last Great Time War, there was no one to police the timelines. This caused a power vacuum, and many groups formed to take advantage, including the Time Agency. Multiple groups travelled through time trying to get ahead of the others without erasing themselves from the timeline. There was never fighting on the scale that the Time Lords and Daleks fought, but there were skirmishes.
