Sleep

Harry, the swift and powerful black panther-like cat, lay sprawled on the soft grass, limbs outstretched, eyes closed as if in deep sleep. Above him, the sky was a clear, vivid blue, with the sun gradually rising, casting its golden rays upon the earth.

The black cat lifted a paw, reaching towards the sun. The sun wavered slightly, like a giant golden orb shining brightly in the sky. Harry, excited, batted at it, and the sun suddenly slipped from his grasp, landing on the ground with a clear, crisp sound.

Harry was jolted awake by the noise. He yawned and stretched lazily, realizing he was nestled in Tom's warm embrace. He squinted his eyes in contentment and began kneading Tom's arm with his paws.

As for why Harry was there, it all traced back to last night's escapade. Harry had been caught by Tom during his nightly prowl and brought back to Tom's dorm. Harry never minded—he didn't object to using Tom's bed as a cozy cat nook.

Harry looked up at Tom, who was still fast asleep, his face peaceful and serene. The soft light highlighted his handsome features, casting a gentle glow. His long eyelashes fluttered slightly, and a faint smile curved his lips, giving him a rare, tender look that contrasted sharply with his usual sharp demeanor.

Harry gently wagged his fluffy tail. This side of Tom intrigued him, and he watched silently for a while. But soon, boredom crept in. Harry thought, since Tom brought the cat back, he should fulfill his duties of taking care of it, including playing with him.

So, without hesitation, Harry placed a soft paw on Tom's handsome face, leaving a slight indentation on his cheek, eagerly awaiting Tom's reaction.

However, Tom remained asleep.

Harry brushed his furry tail across Tom's nose. Tom's face twitched slightly, reacting to the tickle, but he remained deeply asleep.

Still, Tom did not wake up.

Harry then meowed softly into Tom's ear, hoping to rouse him. But Tom only shifted uncomfortably and continued to enjoy his dream.

Harry wasn't about to give up.

Tom was enveloped in the warmth of his cozy sleep, his mind and body basking in the comfort of his bed. Suddenly, he felt a faint pressure on his chest, as if something heavy was pressing down on him.

Tom tried to shake off the feeling and moved his hand to his chest, only to touch something soft and furry. The smooth, velvety sensation made him linger his touch. Then, a gentle meow sounded by his ear, and Tom strained to open his eyes, only to be met by a pair of bright green eyes gazing intently at him.

Harry watched as Tom awoke, letting out another soft meow, greeting him with a tender Good morning.

Tom opened his eyes, still groggy from sleep, his gaze unfocused as if still lost in his dream. Harry looked at him curiously, fascinated by this side of Tom, believing that few had ever seen him like this.

But the next moment, it was Harry's turn to be stunned.

Tom gently placed his hand on the back of Harry's head and softly kissed his furry forehead. He then ruffled Harry's fur and held him close.

"It's still too early," Tom muttered, soothingly stroking Harry's back.

Tom didn’t seem to consider how his actions might affect Harry, but it certainly stopped Harry’s playful antics.

Harry's mind went blank with shock, completely frozen by the unexpected gesture. He eventually concluded that Tom must secretly be a cat lover, and at the moment, he happened to be a cat.

Even though Harry had always thought Tom was a cold-blooded reptile enthusiast, he managed to convince himself otherwise.

With that, Harry contentedly nestled into Tom's embrace, unusually obedient. Tom's fingers gently stroked his back, warm and comforting, making Harry relax involuntarily. His eyelids grew heavy, and under Tom's tender touch, Harry felt an unprecedented sense of tranquility. Slowly, Harry closed his eyes, and, in sync with Tom's breathing, drifted off to sleep.
