When Sirius woke up,the room was filled with daylight and the low mumble of voices filled the air.He shifted slightly,pulling himself tighter into the boy beneath him,a strong arm wrapped around Remus' waist.A hand was placed on his cheek and Remus began gently stroking his thumb across Sirius' cheekbone aswell as another one on the small of his back.
Sirius sighed,shifting his body slightly before slowly blinking his eyes open.Remus was talking to someone behind Sirius,his thumb still stroking Sirius' cheek as his head layed on his chest.Sirius moved to tilt his head up at Remus,his own thumb stroking against the skin on Remus' side,just below his ribs where his hand was rested underneath Remus' shirt.
Remus finished his sentence before glancing down at Sirius,giving him a soft smile."Morning" Remus smiled and Sirius tightly blinked his eyes closed and open again."Morning" Sirius mumbled,his voice thick with sleep.Sirius sighed before lifting his head off of Remus' chest and slowly pulling himself to sit up,looking around the room.
Sirius locked eyes with both Lily and Mary before looking at Remus then back at the two girls."When did you get here?" He questioned,a confused frown on his face."When did your voice get so...manly?" Mary teased and Sirius rubbed his eyes roughly with his knuckle."Leave me alone.It's like 7am or something" Sirius grumbled until he felt a soft hand placed on the small of his back from behind.
"It's like 11:30 but okay" Remus told him and Sirius looked back at him,eyes wide in suprise."Really?" He asked and the three nodded."How long have you been up?" he directed the question towards Remus who smiled and shrugged."Since 8" Sirius' eyes went wide and he looked back at the girls before returning his gaze to Remus."Why didn't you wake me up?" He asked and Remus chuckled before shrugging."You're cute when you sleep" Sirius raised an eyebrow at him,crossing his arms over his chest."As oppose to when i'm awake?" Remus laughed,shaking his head gently."You're cute all the time,don't you worry" He replied and Sirius nodded,happy with his response.
Sirius layed back against the bed allowing Remus to tuck under his arm while they talked to Lily and Mary for a bit longer until they eventually had to go.There was a knock at the door and Sirius called for them to Come in,his eyes flicking down to Remus who was now sleeping against his chest.
A nurse walked in,Sarah Sirius thinks she's called and looked over at the two boys with a smile."Hi,Sorry i didn't know he was sleeping,He's due his next round of pain meds" Sarah told him and Sirius nodded before gently brushing the hair away from Remus' face."Remus.Come on,you have to wake up,Love.You gotta have some meds" Sirius spoke softly,watching as Remus opened his eyes.
Sarah gave Remus the medication aswell as checking his vitals and things before grabbing her clipboard and making her way to the door."i'll be right back and we can get started on some Physio,yeah?" she questioned and Remus nodded stiffly,a forced smile on his face.
Once the nurse had left,Remus looked over at Sirius,his eyes filled with fear."I'm right here" Sirius promised,placing a hand over Remus'.Remus nodded and Sirius smiled,pressing a soft kiss to Remus' forehead and standing up.
They got themselves sorted,Sirius using a spare toothbrush and washing his face with the facewash the hospital provided."i mean,i don't have any clothes because i didn't really expect to stay this long" Sirius laughed and Remus pointed to a black backpack that sat on the armchair beside Sirius."There's some stuff in there.It's stuff my mum brought from home" He told him and Sirius nodded before opening the back.
he pulled out a pair of black jogger shorts and a black tshirt,pulling them on before brushing through his hair.The nurse came in as Sirius helped comb through Remus' hair,setting up the stuff for their physio session."Okay,Remus.Are you ready?" The nurse asked and Remus glanced at Sirius who gave him a smile."Yeah,alright.But we'll stop if it hurts yeah?" Remus asked and the nurse sighed,clasping her hands together."You see Remus,of course if you are in pain we will take a break but we have got to try get you moving a little bit.It's not good for you to stay still for a long period of time after having Surgery.But you tell me when it hurts and we'll take a break,yeah?" Remus sighed,it wasn't ideal and he knew it was going to hurt but what else could he do.
Remus managed to pull himself to sit up,pretty easily without too much pain which gave him a bit more optimism than he previously had."Okay,now we're going to bring your legs round so your sat on the edge of the bed" The nurse told him and Remus nodded before putting his weight on his hands and shifting himself towards the edge of the bed,his legs still on the bed infront of him.Once he was comfortably sat on the edge of the bed,Remus moved his good leg to dangle off of the bed,turning his body slightly with it."Good,now the other leg" the nurse praised but Remus blocked her out,focusing on moving his leg.Remus used one hand to gently guide his leg off of the bed while the other held his weight until he sat upright,his legs hanging off of the bed."okay,okay stop for a second" Remus winced,holding a hand flat ontop of his hip which had a shooting pain going through it.
They sat for 30 seconds,letting Remus breathe and get used to the pain a little bit,Sirius' hand on his shoulder.Remus looked up at Sirius who looked at him with worried eyes,to which remus gave him a soft,tired smile to say that he was okay."Alright,now we're gonna try standing up" The nurse started but Remus frowned."What? i've only just sat up" He argued and the nurse nodded "i understand that but because of the infection you had,we're already behind physio schedule.Now,if you really think you can't do it and it's hurting you too much,we'll stop.Just say the word" The nurse spoke with a caring smile and Remus shook his head."I'm fine" he mumbled and the nurse nodded.
Sirius stood infront of Remus,how the nurse instructed him too, holding onto Remus' forearms.The nurse stood behind Remus,her hands on his sides to help him when he does stand up,along with Hope who had now gotten back from the nurses station."so,i want you to push on Sirius' hands and just do your best okay?" she asked,Remus nodded and After taking a deep breath,he look at Sirius who nodded."i've got you,Moony.I promise.Just take your time" Sirius encouraged and Remus nodded before pushing down on Sirius' hands.He pushed his weight into his good leg and pushed down into Sirius' forearms, lifting himself up off of the bed."No,it hurts" Remus groaned,sitting himself back down onto the bed, freeing one hand from Sirius' grip to hold his hip."it's alright,sweetheart" Hope rubbed a comforting circle on Remus' back as he hung his head down."Sorry, just give me a second" Remus mumbled and the nurse nodded.
After a few failed attempts Remus started getting himself worked up.He sat back down onto the bed after another failed attempt, covering his face with his hands and dropping his head forwards so his forehead rested against Sirius' chest."Hey,it's alright" Sirius whispered, holding Remus into him."I can't do it" Remus mumbled, sounding as though he might be crying but Sirius wasn't sure."Moony, you just had major hip surgery, it'll take a few tries but i promise you,you can do it" Sirius' tone was soft opposed to his usual loud, confident shouts."yeah but what if i can never walk again.What am i supposed to do then?" Remus asked,his face still buried in Sirius' chest. "Moony,i'll do everything i can to help you.Even if that means carrying you around until we're 80 years old" A laugh bubbled out of Remus and Sirius smiled,catching Remus' eye when he lifted his head up."ready?" Sirius asked, wiping away a tear from Remus' cheek.
He tried again,a few more times,getting further and further with the help of his mum and Sirius practically cheering him on.The nurse had promised for this one to be the last one and then Remus could rest,so Remus held onto Sirius' forearms and pushed to stand up one last time.Remus felt his legs straighten and he looked at Sirius in disbelief,his mouth hanging open in shock and he couldn't help but grin."oh my god" Remus whispered and Hope cheered him on.Sirius looked up at Remus and for the first time he got to see how tall Remus was, the top of Sirius' head coming up to Remus' bottom lip.Sirius made sure the nurse and Hope had a good grip on Remus before slowly letting go of Remus' hands but staying close by incase he fell."oh my god,i'm doing it" Remus beamed and Sirius stepped forwards,smiling before gently wrapping his arms around Remus' waist.
Remus wrapped his arms around Sirius' neck,now leaning some of his weight into the hug as he smiled into Sirius' hair.The two pulled away and Sirius helped slowly lower Remus back down to sitting and get him comfortable in his bed again.
"okay,physio again tomorrow and we'll keep going until it's no longer needed.Sound good?" the nurse asked and Remus nodded."Yes,Thank you" He replied,a grin on his face.Sirius' phone started ringing once the nurse had left and he read James' name across his screen,letting Remus know that he'd he right back before leaving the room.

"hey Jamie,what's up?"
"hey! i was just wondering when you're coming back? We have the rugby final against the Slytherins in two weeks so we've got some extra practice sessions booked in"
"Right.Yeah,sorry mate Remus has had physio today so i haven't really been on my phone.I'll be back soon"
"Okay,Mate.How is he?"
"he's okay.Got himself a bit upset in physio.I think it's hard because he wants so badly to be able to walk again but it hurts"
"God,i can't imagine what he's going through.Give him a squeeze from me"
"i'll give him plenty,don't you worry prongs"
"Goodness,Moony's turned you soft"
"yeah,yeah.I'll see you soon,alright?"
"yeah,see ya mate"
"alright,bye love you"

Sirius made his way back into Remus' room to see that Remus had fell asleep,his hand holding onto Hopes.Sirius smiled at Remus before looking over at Hope who was already smiling at him."He likes you very much,you know" Hope smiled,keeping her attention on Remus but Sirius knew the statement was directed at him."And i like him too,a lot" Sirius replied,walking to sit on the armchair beside Remus' other side,slipping his hand into Remus'.
"You're a brilliant boy,Sirius.He's lucky to have you" Hope looked at him with warm eyes,reminding him so much of Mrs Potter."He's amazing,i'm lucky to have him" Sirius smiled and Hope nodded."Thank you,Sirius...For everything you have done for,my boy" Sirius felt as though he was going to melt,but instead he gave her a warm smile before looking over at Remus' sleeping face."There's no one i'd rather be with" Sirius ran his thumb across the back of Remus' palm gently,watching the peaceful look on Remus' face as he relaxed into his sleep.
An hour went by and Sirius knew it was time for him to go.He stood up,perching himself down beside Remus on the bed,facing him."Hey,Remus.Love,i've got to go" Sirius whispered,bringing a hand up to rest on Remus' cheek.Remus disturbed,frowning slightly as he blinked his eyes open,his face immediately softening as he looked at the boy infront of him."hi" Remus whispered and Sirius smiled a soft,gently smile that was reserved only for Remus."hi.I'm really sorry but i've got to get back to school" Sirius kept his voice low as Remus blinked,waking himself up a bit more.
"Oh,Okay.Now?" Remus asked and Sirius nodded,pulling his lips into a sad smile."Yeah,as much as i'd love to stay here forever,i have to go back today" Remus nodded before opening his arms for a hug with a questioning look on his face.Sirius chuckled and practically melted into Remus' arms.
"i'm so proud of you" Sirius whispered,smiling when he felt Remus' lips press against hair.They stayed like that for a few minutes before Remus gently pulled away,placing his hands on Sirius' jaw.He pulled Sirius forwards,their lips meeting and instantly making them both forget about any of their worries.
The pair pulled away and Sirius looked at Remus,gently pushing a stray curl out of his face."you'll text me,yeah?" Remus asked and Sirius gave him a deadpanned look."baby,after saying yes to being my boyfriend you have signed up to even more pointless texts and calls.I really really hope you know that" Sirius spoke sarcastically and Remus burst out laughing.
"Okay,you better go.Text me when you're back?" Remus asked and Sirius shook his head."oh Moony,i don't know if i can hold off that long" He joked and Remus rolled his eyes.
Sirius stood up grabbing his phone and wallet which were his only belongings before walking over to Remus' bed."i gotta go if i want to make it back for 5" Sirius shoved his phone in his pocket and moved to stand beside Remus."That's alright.Be careful" Remus smiled and Sirius leant over Remus,pressing one last kiss to his lips.
"Okay,bye i love you" Sirius called before rushing out of the room and down the corridor.Somehow,Sirius made it all the way out onto the street until he realised what he had just said.He stopped in his tracks,frozen still,his mouth hanging open in shock."oh fuck" he whispered before pulling out his phone.

Sirius carried on walking except this time,he couldn't help the beaming smile on his face,grinning the whole way back to school.
Once Sirius had spoken to Mcgonagall and thanked her for allowing him the time off,he made his way to his dorm,through the noisy common room.When Sirius walked in,James was layed in his bed,scrolling on his phone while Peter was in the shower.
"hey! alright?" James jumped up from his bed and wrapped Sirius in a hug excitedly."i may have just did something.Or rather said something...to Moony" Sirius told him,sitting down on his own bed and leaving room for James to join him."Okay?" James looked at Sirius with a confused look waiting for him to elaborate."i accidentally told him i loved him.Like a full 'good bye i love you' as i left his room.But i didn't fully realise until i was in the street" Sirius rambled and James' eyes widened,his mouth dropped open."Oh my god! have you spoken to him?!" James asked and Sirius nodded."And?! what did he say?!!" James yelled,a beaming smile on his face."Hmmm something along the lines of i love you too" Sirius could only hide his smile for a second before he was being tackled into a hug by James."Oof.Ow okay i get it!" Sirius laughed,pushing James off of him."oh my god.You're in love" "i am" Sirius smiled at James who grinned at him.
Sirius spent the rest of the evening on Facetime to Moony while sitting with James,Peter and Marlene in the common room.Marlene would occasionally jump into conversations but Sirius,James and Peter mainly spoke to Remus.
