Isabella woke up gasping for air. She looked around her room not knowing where she was.
“I’m going to get you Isabella” Bellatrix Lestange’s voice and wicked laugh rang in her ear.
When Isabella was younger her bad dreams were always about losing someone close to her or villains from muggle movies he papa, Remus, had shown her but now they were just the worst moments of the war. Though she was too young to fight in it she did anyway. It wasn’t like she was alone her cousin Lydia was with her, they had each other’s backs the whole war. Well except when Isabella was taken to be tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange. Both their parents were terrified when they saw the two fighting with them but they made it out without too much damage.
Isabella touched the scar on her arm remembering the war and those who died, breathing deeply till she caught her breath.
After her breathing was normal again, she pulled back the covers and walked down the many steps of grimmauld place to the kitchen to get a cup of hot cocoa, her comfort drink after a bad nightmare. Only when she got there one of the lights was on. She walked into the kitchen to find her dad, Sirius, sitting there at the counter with a glass of water. He looked deep in thought so Isabella cleared her throat, Sirius jumped a little putting his hand on his wand, ready to face any intruder that was trying to get to his family. When he realized it was only his daughter he relaxed.
“Bells, you scared me.” Sirius said looking relieved it was only her.
“Sorry.” Isabella smiled sheepishly.
“It’s fine. Nightmare?” Sirius asked. Bella nodded. “You wanna talk about it?” She shrugged.
“It was the one about Bellatrix, again.” The dark haired girl said starting to make her hot chocolate, Sirius gave her a sad look. Once she had finished making it she sat down next to her dad.
Only a few minutes went by before Teddy showed up, his hair a dark gray meaning he was scared or frightened. Bella could see the sheen on sweat on his forehead.
“Oh, hi.” Teddy said realizing there were other people in the room.
“Nightmare?” Sirius questioned just like he had to Isabella. Teddy nodded, finding there was still hot water in the kettle he made some tea. “Wanna talk about it?” Teddy shook his head and sat down on the counter.
They sat in silence for a while enjoying their various drinks until a very tired looking Remus showed up. He took a minute to survey the scene, seeing his family sitting in the kitchen at three am.
“I’m going to guess you all had nightmares.” He said in a groggy voice. They all nodded.
“And I’m going to guess you had one too?” Sirius said in a questioning tone. Remus nodded. “Wanna talk about it?”
“It was to one about you lying there unconscious,” Remus started sitting one the other side of his husband. “and then you weren’t in bed so I kinda freaked for a minute.”
“Sorry.” Sirius apologized and Remus just shook his head. They all sat there in silence for a while until Isabella said something.
“I don’t think I’m going to be able to sleep again.” Isabella broke the silence.
“Yeah.” Teddy agreed “not after that.” If it was anyone else saying that they would have asked about his nightmare again but Teddy’s were always all over the place never staying on one moment for too long.
“We could watch a movie.” Remus suggested. They all seemed to like that idea so they walked over to living room and debated on what move to watch before deciding on ‘the princess bride’, a classic.
About an hour into the movie they were all asleep cuddled up with each other.
