Chapter 10
Evan’s POV:
I walked out to the quidditch pitch to try and find James.
I could hear the muggle music a half kilometer away from the pitch.
I saw him high up in the air hitting a bludger to the ground every time it came back up. It looked like he was using it as an oversized bouncy ball.
“James!”
He looked down at me and rolled his eyes. Even from the ground, I could feel the frustration radiating off of him.
“Please just come down and hear me out!”
He wordlessly flew down to the ground and put the bludger in the box. He turned to me and crossed his arms over his chest.
“I-I’m sorry James,” I blurted out, “I’m sorry for getting upset I just didn’t know you liked all of us the way we like you. Didn’t know that you like ME like I like you. You’re funny and caring and protective and gentle but also rough and I’m just Evan. I’m just a little asshole.”
His gaze softened as I spoke. But I wasn’t done. I had been keeping all these feelings in for so long that now that I had started, I didn’t know how to stop.
“Merlin, James. I-I think I’m in love. In love with your smile that always seems to be pointed at anything else. With your beautiful brown eyes that I love to pretend are looking at me, even when I know you don’t even see me. With your kind heart that always feels so far away. I’m in love with you, James and it’s always hurt so much because you never see me.” I rambled as hot, unfamiliar tears ran down my face.
Strong arms wrapped around my body as I was pulled into a solid chest. Defined muscles from years of quidditch.
I stood there, letting out years of pent-up emotions for what was probably 20 minutes, but not once did James’s hold waver.
Finally, I pulled back but James hesitated in letting me go. It was as if he thought I would walk away and not come back.
“I’ve waited years to have all three of you. I thought I wanted friendship but Moons helped me realize what I really wanted. I want to be your boyfriend. All of you guy’s boyfriend. I have always seen you, Evan. You are so beautiful I don’t know how anyone could ever not see you.” James explained while he maintained his grip.
I pulled back, much to his disappointment, and looked up into those beautiful brown eyes that looked like perfect chocolate chips.
Then I kissed him.
It wasn’t like how I kissed Reggie or how he had been kissing Barty.
No, this kiss was nothing like those kisses.
This was slow and passionate. A silent declaration of love.
This was a promise. A promise that we both meant every word.
This was the official start of the real relationship between James Potter, Evan Rosier, Barty Crouch Jr., and Regulus Black.
