Chapter 5
James POV:
I was pissed.
How dare that girl touch what was mine, and Reggie’s and Barty’s.
Evan was mine.
Ours.
That girl, Serpine, touched Evan, and if Moony hadn’t grabbed me and held me back I would have ripped her off of him myself.
I know that it was fake.
It was just a show.
Just a prank.
But when she touched my boyfriend, I was ready to kill her.
I made it back to my dorm after dropping my boyfriends off at theirs.
Thankfully Moony was the only one here as I flopped down on my bed.
“I’m glad you finally admitted your feelings for them,” Moony said while turning a page in his book.
I turned my head to the side from where I had been face down on the bed so that I could look at him. I figured that I could tell Moony. He would keep the fact that our relationship was a prank a secret.
“It’s a prank,” I said as I sighed. I couldn’t figure out why it felt like a dagger was jabbed into my heart when I admitted that.
Moony just hummed as he turned another page.
“What was that for?” I asked him. Moony was the most observant of all of us. He usually knew stuff about us before we knew it about ourselves and I had a sinking suspicion that’s what’s about to happen.
“A prank…” He said as he flipped another page. That’s when I realized he was holding an empty notebook. He had baited me.
“Cut the crap,” I used the muggle expression Lily had taught me as I sat up.
Moony tossed the notebook onto what was supposed to be his bed but both he and Pads usually slept in Padfoot’s bed. He turned so that he was sitting on the edge of the bed, facing me.
“The jealousy you felt in the great hall today was no prank, Prongs,” He said as he showed me his arms where I had dug my fingernails in while watching the girl flirt with Evan.
“Moony, I’m sorry-” I started but he cut me off.
“It’s fine. Sirius has done much worse with longer nails, these won’t even be there tomorrow.” He waved off my apology and I waved off hearing about the sex lives of my best friends.
“Another thing that wasn’t a prank is the way you looked at Evan after the girl left,” He said as he gave me a look.
I connected the dots on my own for once.
“I have very real feelings for Regulus, Evan, and Barty…” I said as I ran a hand through my brunette curls.
I looked back up at Moony, “Do they feel the same?”
Moony shrugged, “I don’t know them well enough to read them from the tiny amounts that I’ve seen you guys interact but I’ll keep an eye on them and see if I can figure it out.”
“Thank you, Moons. I don’t know what I’d do without you,”
“You’d never have life realizations is what,” He said with a laugh.
I started to reply when the door busted open and Wormtail and Padfoot ran in talking about a new prank idea.
