Chapter 47
Walking down the hall I glance at Minnie seeing her glaring at me "What?" I ask already knowing why she's doing it.
"I was under the impression that you were to start courting me and as such when we walk you are to be a gentle woman and escort me"
Laughing I shrug but stop walking "I was under the impression that you didn't want the same treatment".
Seeing her hand twitch slightly I smile offering my arm "I don't want to make you uncomfortable so I was trying to continue on as normal".
"This is far from normal, you've escorted me many times as friends, I expect you to continue and do a few proper courting things" she says placing her hand on the crook of my arm.
"You're very bossy and demanding" I say smirking.
"I will not allow you to be looked at as improper because you failed to court me properly"
Laughing I nod leading her out of the castle to Hogsmeade, walking around I frown seeing Aunt Cassiopeia coming out of the forest.
Gently getting Minnie to let go I take a deep breath and run up behind her "what are you doing?" I screech before ducking her throwing a spell at me.
"Do not sneak up on me Aquila Aurora Black" she hisses grabbing my robes.
"You're the one sneaking out of the Forbidden Forest" I say frowning while looking her over "Aunt Cassiopeia what is that?" I ask narrowing my eyes at a mark on her neck while ignoring Hermione laughing about proper pure bloods shagging in the Forbidden Forest.
"What?" She asks calmly.
Reaching up I poke her neck frowning "who has been sucking on your neck in the woods like some dirty secret?" I hiss glaring at the forest behind her.
Stalking past her I watch the ground following her trail back to a tree with a home built on the branches, snarling I pull my wand out "Evanesco".
Seeing the tree house disappear I smirk seeing a half dressed Hooch come down catching herself before safely landing on her feet.
"Apprentice Black, I doubt your Master will be pleased to hear of this" she says while transfiguring some clothes to wear.
"I doubt my grandparents will be please to hear you're having relations with my Aunt Cassiopeia in the Forbidden Forest like it's a dirty secret" I growl pointing my wand at her.
"Aquila you will stop right now" Aunt Cassiopeia says from behind me.
"No, I don't think she fully understands what you are fully aware of Aunt Cassiopeia, if either of you get pregnant outside of marriage it's frowned upon but accepted as long as you are courting, since there has been no proper introduction or requests to court it will be seen as disrespectful and the child would be seen as a bastard"
"Aquila you need to think before you continue speaking" Aunt Cassiopeia hisses.
Turning to her I cross my arms looking at her "Aunt Cassiopeia, we both know she could get pregnant by you if you use the spell" I say softly knowing that she was unmarried because she was unable to get pregnant herself.
"That's your problem? a child out of Courting or wedlock?" Hooch asks frowning at me.
Throwing my hands up I huff "that and if you want to see my aunt do so properly not sneaking around like it's some secret" I screech.
Hooch looks at me frowning more "you realize that I am considered a creature correct and she's a pure blood?" She says slowly.
"I don't care about blood or creatures Hagrid's half giant he's now my brother, Minnie's part muggle, Flitwick's part goblin. My Aunt deserve better than sneaking around so you need to get your ass to my grandparents and ask for permission to court her before you screw up getting pregnant and send them into a fit because I don't want to deal with that"
Turning I smooth my robes walking away "and learn how to cover the marks you both leave in places other will see" I say laughing.
Stepping out of the woods I smile seeing Minnie standing with her arms crossed smiling at me "was your aunt's secret lover handled?"
Nodding I link our arms "yes and I expect they will be presenting themselves to my grandparents for permission to court her properly" I say nodding.
"And what of you, when will you be doing that with my parents?"
Sighing I glance at her seeing she's serious "I'm unsure, I know you're mom understands how this world works but your dad doesn't he could react badly".
"I already wrote mom she said she will explain to him about how marriage works here and give him lessons on Wizarding child birth"
"I'll wait a few weeks and try to speak with him then" I say nodding.
"Tell me what your niece will be named, she should be here in three years"
Smiling I glance around making sure we're still alone "Bellatrix Druella Black she'll be the brightest witch of her generation, a fierce warrior, and if I successfully change events she'll be do something amazing with her life without becoming evil".
"If you fail?"
Sighing I shake my head "I'm trusting what they told me, that she could be helped, I'm scared to imagine failing but I have planned for it just in case"
"You always plan for multiple outcomes"
"I do, that's why I hate when things go completely off script and I have to make it up as I go"
"How often has that happened?"
"To many times including the honor dual, I never planned it but because they were trying to kill me I had to make up my moves as I went, I'm still sure those who were following him or Alph will try something I'm just not sure when or what to expect"
"So after you get through our school years what's your plan?"
Smiling I glance at her "I have a few plans I'm working on right now that hopefully will be finished soon, but I want to be DADA I need to be here to control a few things and hopefully help a few friends from my last life".
"Anyone specific?"
"Stop a future Lovegood from becoming reckless while experimenting with Potions, a half blood who's home life is bad, a would be war orphan, along with stopping my family from falling apart"
"What about the Carrows?" She asks frowning.
"I'm not sure yet, I never learned much about the two who became a problem in that life, but if I find something that needs fixing I will"
"You have a lot to handle" Minnie says softly.
Nodding I sigh "yes but I can't fail them, if I can stop it I will"
"What about yourself?" Minnie asks frowning at me.
"I've had a chance to know the woman who inspired me and won my heart as a student, I can say she's my best friend and hopefully she maybe my wife someday"
"I didn't hear anything about what you've accomplished" Minnie says smirking.
Shrugging I twirl my wand looking at it "fame, power, and wealth I don't care about it, don't get me wrong it's nice, because many things I've earned myself without having it handed to me, but I think my best accomplishments are the stuff no one knows about, like Myrtle's alive, Alastor has a chance to marry someone who will accept his work drive, my family isn't hateful to muggles and creatures, Hagrid has friends and family now, you and Pomona have more than just each other, and Flitwick isn't being attacked for being part goblin but still holds the title for dueling club".
Holiday Break
Smoothing my dress down I take a deep breath looking at the church Mr. McGonagall runs.
Walking in I see him straightening up stuff "how can I help you Aquila?" He asks glancing at me.
"Sir, I know Mrs. McGonagall explained how things work in our world for marriage and having children" I say calmly.
He sighs nodding "she did, I do not understand how that is possible it doesn't seem right?" He grunts.
Nodding I look down "outside of magic helping, there's a family who's been known to have female children born with male reproductive parts".
He stops and looks at me "what?" He asks confused.
"Okay so you believe God makes everyone exactly how they're meant to be, so if a female's born with male reproductive parts then it should stand to reason that God expects her to reproduce with a woman right?" I ask trying to pull on Hermione's memories of religion.
He frowns nodding "in our world there's a family who when males are born they're weak and have extremely low chances of having children, so sometimes women in that family are born to balance it out so their family has a chance to survive, I think in your world it would be God has gifted a select few women from this family so the family doesn't die out, does that make sense?"
Seeing him nod waiting for me to continue I take a breathe "I'm part of that family, my father was meant to be head of house but he did something that was disgusting and horrible, I now control the house I'm one of the females born to keep the family line alive, I've come to ask you for permission to court Minnie and possibly marry her once we finish school".
He glares at me crossing his arms "why should I agree?" He demands.
"I love her Sir, I can guarantee she'll want for nothing, if we marry she will be treated like a queen, I would never stand in her way of doing something that she wanted to do, if she wants to work I won't stop her, if she decides to continue learning forever I'll pay for her to do it, I only want her happy"
He looks away from me moving stuff around "I don't pretend to understand that world it's not who I am, I've accepted my wife and listened to her explain how things work lately, I don't agree with it because it's not how I was raised but I also know that it is Minnie's world, she will eventually finish school and stay there because it makes her happy, I have gotten to know you and know if you give your word on something then you mean it, you've done things I never thought possible I can't see what you did for my family as anything but God sending help, so if she wants to court you and marry you then you have my blessings but witch or not if you hurt her then you will regret it".
"Yes Sir, thank you" I say bowing at the waist.
Turning I walk out of the church taking a deep breath while looking at my house ring, walking to the McGonagall home I take a breathe and knock on the door.
It opens and I see Minnie's baby brother smiling at me "hi Quila" he says grabbing my hand pulling me in.
Looking around I see Isobel making tea "Hello Mrs. McGonagall".
"Aquila, Minerva didn't mention she was expecting you" she says smiling at me.
"She wasn't ma'am, I came to speak with Mr. McGonagall at the church"
"What about?" she asks while filling a second cup of tea motioning me over.
Sitting down I sip my tea before pulling my house ring off holding it in my hand "he gave me his blessings to court and eventually marry Minnie if she wants".
"Is that why you're here now?"
Nodding I smile showing the ring "my Mother, Father, and Walburga have agreed that she's a suitable lady to court or marry, I have their blessings and Mr. McGonagall's I just need your's ma'am".
"I need your word that you will not control her, that she can follow her dreams"
"I would never do that ma'am, if she wants to work I won't stop her even though she wouldn't have to, I'll pay for her to spend her life learning anything she wants, if she chooses to be a house wife and raise a family then that's fine but I know she's not going to be a house wife, I truly believe she will want to work even if we have children but no matter what I'll encourage her to do what she wants in life and help fund it"
She nods looking at me for a moment "he'll never admit it but when I explained how marriage works there he was worried about who she could end up with, I think the fact that you came asking for his permission will allow him to relax knowing that you plan to marry her".
Smiling I nod my head "she's outside reading it the garden".
Standing up I bow slightly and move to the back door finding Minnie reading a book "Minnie" I call.
"What are you doing here? Did I forget you were coming again?" She asks jumping up.
"No, I spoke with your father and mother" I say while stepping closer to her gently grabbing her hand "while we're still taking it slow I wanted to do this right, I want to court you and eventually marry you, will you accept my ring?" I ask holding it out between my thumb and forefinger.
Seeing her nod I smile slipping it on her right hand ring finger before it resizes to fit her, lifting her hand I press a kiss to it.
