"I don't know Queenie, does the wizarding world allow people of the same gender to be together?" He asks confused.
"They do because there are spells that allow them to have children together and with the Carrow family, they are known to have females magically blessed to have children with other females" Newt says nodding.
"What does that even mean magically blessed?"
"It's what we call gifts, in my family I'm magical chosen to be head of house Black because I hold every gift in our line including some that haven't been seen since our start, but with Carrow the men are known to be weak of magic and looks making them less desirable, they also have a very low chance of getting someone pregnant while females are stronger with magic and more attractive they have a higher chance to get someone pregnant and that line with females you can either have a normal female or a female born with the lower part of a male like me, I believe in the muggle world it would be something you hide from everyone but here it's seen as a blessing magic gave"
He nods with a stunned look "right, that makes sense" he says nodding still in shock "Honey let me handle this okay" Queenie says sweetly.
"I'm sure you had plenty of requests, why did you choose to respond to ours?" She asks.
"I got mostly marriage requests ma'am, but I was waiting for a friend of mine to notice me as more than a friend I've recently come to accept that it is unlikely to happen, I couldn't bring myself to enter into a marriage contract when I know my heart belongs to someone else so I picked the courting request because there is no lock on it, if either of us finds we do not believe we could work together it can be called off and will allow me to get to know Evelyn building a base of friendship"
"Wait, she's wanting to date our daughter to get over someone else?" Jacob asks frowning at me.
"No, she's recently had her heart broken and doesn't want a marriage contract till she heals, with Courting it will allow her and Evelyn to get to know each other as friends to see if they could be more without the promise of marriage" Tina says calmly "it's a smart choice, she's admitting she's not ready for a relationship or marriage but is open to getting to know Evelyn to see if they could be more when she's ready, it's like forming a friendship before a relationship, a good foundation for a relationship even if they never marry"
Nodding I smile slightly at her "thank you ma'am" I say softly before looking at Jacob "I could continue to list why I'm a good choice for courting Evelyn Sir, but it would be insulting to her and appear like I'm bragging, the truth is I'm 13 and have to many people trying to get to me for fame or my money, I'd rather take things slow and get to know someone before we plan anything".
He frowns looking at the others before looking at me again "I can promise you that I will never allow anyone to disrespect her and if someone does I will correct them, I will be respectful of her and never do anything that could damage her reputation as a lady, if she is in my company and something happens I will do everything within my power to protect her" I say calmly meeting his eyes.
"Honey, Blacks take their promise very seriously, to them it's the same as a contract" Queenie whispers to him.
"We are taught that if you can not keep your word then you should not be trusted, if we promise something then we follow through on it" I say softly.
"Excuse me for a moment" he says getting up leaving the room with Newt.
Taking a breath I close my eyes trying to pull my stray magic back in "are you okay?" Queenie asks.
"Yes ma'am" I say softly.
"He really wanted to be involved with this since it's our only daughter"
Smiling slightly I nod "it's a parents job to make sure who ever may date their child is good enough but anyone who asks to date his only daughter will never be good enough".
Two days later
Walking down the street of Hogsmeade I smile nervously at Evelyn "do you want some sweets?" I ask.
Seeing her nod I offer my arm leading her to the shop, stepping in I tense seeing Minnie with her future husband "what's wrong?" Evelyn asks softly.
"N-nothing" I stutter out "what would you like?" I ask trying to ignore them.
She smiles grabbing a few candies while I do the same, stepping up to pay I raise my brow at seeing a few blood pops "have you tried them?" She asks blushing.
"No I haven't" I say while paying for everything before walking out.
"Do you want to?"
Shrugging I take one trying it "it really tastes like blood" I say looking at it before hearing her giggle.
Looking at her she nods keeping hers in her mouth "I like it, since I first tried it around the time I was seven".
Nodding I put it back in my mouth to finish it "It's not as horrible as I was told".
"Oh you don't have to finish it, you could throw it away" she says glancing at me.
"No it's okay, it's not bad but I think it's something I can do when we visit together"
Seeing her nod I smile walking with her "Aquila".
Frowning I turn seeing Myrtle charging at me with Hagrid following looking panicked.
"She havin' a baby it's stuck she won't let me help" Hagrid says loudly while waving his arms frantically.
"What?" I ask confused.
"Unicorn, she's in labor but the baby's stuck" Myrtle screeches.
Turning I take off running hearing them following me, hitting the forest I see a Centaur motioning me in the right direction.
Reaching the clearing I move closer so she can see me "It's okay beautiful, I'll help" I say calmly while moving closer.
Reaching her flank I hiss softly seeing the damage "this will hurt beautiful I'm sorry".
Pushing my hand in I keep talking to her while feeling the baby that's turned slightly, finding the head I turn it back and pull it's head free.
Finally getting the foal out I lay on the ground with the baby on my chest breathing heavily with wide eyes "it's okay" I say softly petting it's head.
Gently moving it off me I stand up lifting the baby and place it beside the mother, then touch her stomach "she's got twins" I call out before moving back.
Rubbing her flank I look up at her "come on beautiful you have one more".
Seeing she's to tired I panic slightly 'calm down and gently push your magic to her, it will give her enough energy to finish' Morgana says.
Nodding I push my magic out to my hand "you can do it beautiful, one more baby and then the Centaurs will guard you while you rest".
Once she starts pushing I smile helping get the baby out and move her beside the sibling, then move back behind her carefully healing the damage that happened with the first getting stuck.
Stepping back I watch as female Centaurs bring food up to her setting near by "now you rest and let my nice friends watch over you and your babies" I say softly while petting her head.
Turning I see Evelyn looking at me wide eyed "sorry" I say embarrassed that I ran off on her.
"You just helped a unicorn give birth" she whispers.
"I'm a La Faye, I'm supposed to help the creatures, but I didn't mean to run off like that"
"It's okay, this was amazing to see" she says stepping closer to me, laughing slightly I look down at my cleaned clothes and arms "there now you're not covered in Unicorn" she says smugly.
Leading her back out I blush seeing Myrtle and Pomona standing with their arms crossed, while Hagrid and Flitwick stand around looking confused "Aquila, you better introduce us to your new friend" Myrtle hisses.
"This is Evelyn Kowalski" I say shrugging before looking at her "These are a few of my friends "Myrtle Warren, Pomona Sprout, and Filius Flitwick, then the big guy is my brother Rubeus Hagrid Black".
She smiles greeting them happily "are they the rest of the Apprentices group?"
"No, Minnie is somewhere around with a Squib following her around trying to court her, she's the final member of our apprentice group, Flitwick is a first year that we've dragged into our group to teach him how to duel".
"Not the first time you've dragged someone into your group either" Pomona says glaring at Myrtle.
"I said I was sorry Pomo what more do you want, blame Minnie's confusing accent" Myrtle screeches pointing at her.
"Actually that's the first time you've said sorry for dragging me with you" Pomona says smiling.
Seeing them starting to argue I sigh leading Evelyn away "my friends are great company I promise, just they're very strange and hard to handle at times" I say blushing.
She nods looking back "your brother has them trying to pin him down".
