Chapter 7
When he returned from the library, Tom saw Lady Sigyn sitting at the table in his room. She wore a purple dress, with a golden belt down the middle of the body, decorated with a floral motif, and the long sleeves were blue. She rarely ate with him, but he loved times like these. The table was set with a white tablecloth, decorated with flowers, and there was hot soup on the table. Lady Sigyn was reading the newspaper, then looked at him and invited him to the table. Minky added roast duck and a platter of bread to the table and ran out, mumbling about keeping an eye on the cake.
''Your parents hated you,'' he stated matter-of-factly, although he tried to be gentle.
She looked at him carefully. ''Why do you think so?...''
''Your name...Goddess who is powerless and must suffer...
He expected sadness, but he saw a dazzling smile on her face.
''That's not the meaning of my name...'' she replied.
''What?'' Tom wondered.
''My name means friend of victory...that is, the name Sigyn. This name filled with victory, this destiny of victory... It says, I will always win...'' she smiled. She believed it. This was her truth. It wasn't a lie to deceive him..
''But the story... about this goddess, about helplessness...'' said Tom.
''How do you know that this story is true and not an attempt to discredit both... but even in this attempt... it shows this magical power of victory... She is with him. In the darkest hour, without anyone... And she will always be with him, she will never leave him... Because she loves him more than she is afraid of darkness and suffering... Her love is stronger than darkness,' said Lady Sigyn.
Then Tom realized...The power of love, so strong that even punishment, other gods, other powers could not break it. Love so strong...that it breaks everything. He had never seen such love. But when he looked into Lady Sigyn's steadfast eyes, he knew that her name meant it and she was a reflection of that name.
He thought of his mother, who criminally used the love potion. He thought of the miserable Gauts and the snobbish Riddles. He thought about the orphanage.
''You reflect that...'' Tom said slowly.
''Darkness may be scary, but love survives everything... death, time, space, even separation through different worlds...'' she said.
''How do you learn such power?'' he asked.
Lady Sigyn smiled slightly.
''You don't learn this...Love is something you receive and give...that is in your heart.'' she gently tapped his chest.
Tom never received love. Yet he looked into the eyes of this woman who had taken him from the streets and given him so many things... Was it love? He wasn't sure.
''Have you loved anyone...like Sigyn loves Loki?'' Tom asked.
''I still love him,'' she smiled.
''He?'' Tom asked.
''The man of my life, the most handsome man in all the worlds'' she had a dreamy smile on her lips.
''What happened to him....did he...'' Tom tried to be gentle.
''He's still alive, but we're apart...'' she said.
''Why?'' Tom asked.
''It's a type of magic unknown to the Wizarding World...'' she replied.
''Is there nothing that can be done?'' asked Tom. He could help, he was brilliant, he could find a way.
''Don't worry about it, I'll see him one day...'' Lady Sigyn said.
''Can you tell me about him?'' Tom asked, curious what she would say about the man who was so close to her heart. However, part of his thoughts were already planning if he could... He looked at the table, covered with food. Lady Sigyn, with her beautiful face and dark hair... and her mysterious lover. If it were all three of them... a strange heartbeat. A mother and a father... something he never thought was possible for him... could he... No, he wasn't a child. Lady Sigyn is his employer, nothing more. But...I wish there was more. A mother he can be proud of...
''He has the most beautiful smile in the whole world, when he laughs it is the most beautiful laugh in the world. He loves astronomy, theater and books. He is very handsome, slim and athletic,' she said with a smile.
Intellectual. Like Lady Sigyn, who brought him books and talked to him about Niccolo Machiavelli. The perfect family. Beautiful, powerful, rich and intellectual... Tom, Lady Sigyn... and the mysterious man...
''What's his name?'' Tom asked.
''It's my secret,'' she said quietly with a smile.
Tom nodded, one day he would find out. He thought that at the age of four he would give up his desire for a family... but that was not the case at all. The perfect family... all beautiful, with money and class, knowledge and power... They would be a model family.
When Lady Sigyn left, Tom was lying on the bed, touching his yew wand. He just needed to know the direction in which this magic was interfering... and he could do it. To find a way. On the table next to his bed lay Slytherin's locket. Salazar Slytherin, the only ancestor who was worth anything. An outstanding magician, snake speaker, one of the creators of Hogwarts. However, he left in disgrace. Tom will be better than him, not only will he be the richest wizard in the world. He will overcome the unknown magic... and maybe then... When Lady Sigyn meets her lover... maybe they will say they are grateful to him... and maybe...
It's stupid. They can have children together unless Lady Sigyn is barren. Susan and Mary, two girls from the orphanage, gossiped that Mrs. Cole was infertile, which is why she took care of the orphans.
Well, he doesn't like the idea of Hogwarts. Although he may change his plans, he will stay for a year... not until the Christmas break. In a year he will be able to ask all the teachers, read the books, and if the answer is at Hogwarts, he will find it. He's just not sure what kind of magic is connected to Lady Sigyn's case. He needs to find out, it will narrow down the search.
