The Window
Regulus was the heir to the throne. Ever since his older brother, Sirius, ran off with some pirate, Regulus has had all the responsibility. Sirius was one year older than Regulus and was much more stubborn, rarely listening to their parents. Regulus, on the other hand, was polite and always tried to listen. When Sirius left it was a big fuss, that ended with Regulus locked in a closet for a week. James Potter, the famous pirate, had come with his crew to save one of the Black brothers. It had been Sirius. Regulus, though younger, wanted it to be Sirius who got saved. He didn't want Sirius to get stuck marrying some princess from a different country, even if it meant Regulus had to.
Currently, Regulus is at a ball his parents threw to attempt to find him a suitor. He was bored out of his mind. He fancied none of the girls because he's gay. No one knows that though. No one besides Sirius and his best friends, Pandora and Evan Rosier. Regulus is about three glasses of wine in and his mother, Walburga, is giving him a look that could only mean that she wanted him to stop drinking. A tall blond woman walks over. She is probably 6'2 in the heels shes wearing with her gown, while Regulus was only 5'6, so she basically towered over him.
"hello, Prince Regulus." She says with a courtesy
"Greetings. What should I call you again?" He said dryly
"I am Queenie Greengrass of Potheniss." She replied confidently
"It is truly a pleasure to meet you, Queenie." He said. What an odd name... Regulus thought.
After speaking with her for a few minutes he decided he does not like her.
During the part of the ball where everyone is dancing, he manages to sneak off. He is now in an empty hallway, close to a window. He looks out and remember he's on the second floor. When he goes to walk over to a couch on the other wall of the hallway, he hears a noise coming from the window.
The window shatters.
