Locket of The Heart
Harry woke up again groggy and his eyes crusted over, again the memories hit but this time he didn’t start sobbing.
He didn’t because he needed to know if his aunt was still here that she wouldn’t leave before at least saying good bye to him. God he hopped she didn’t he only now got a family a potential family something he hadn’t dared dream of.
So getting up out of the bed he softly padded to the rooms door opening it before walking into the hallway.
He lets out a surprised yelp as someone picks him up and hugs him to their chest before setting him down again. Turning around he’s greeted by Rens mischievous grin and mirthful dark grey eyes.
“Hello kid.”
Harry smiles up hesitantly but no less genuine and happy replying “hi Ren!”
“Hey Ren is aunt petunia still here she hasn’t left yet? Right?”
Rens face softens “Of course she’s still here she wouldn’t have left without letting you know kid I promise you.”
Harry heaved a sigh of relief before looking back at Ren and wondering rather awkwardly what to say luckily it seems Ren ether had a conversation already in mind or was taking pity on Harry’s awkwardness.
“It’s time for breakfast kid you need to eat just as much as you need to sleep. You’d do well to remember that you Tom cat.” Harry would later find being referred to as a Tom cat rather amusing.
They both head to the dinning room where Harry sees eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, chicken, and Harry blinked incredulously donuts of all things.
Then he looks up and sees raven with smudges of powder flower likely on her where she stands. Harry blinks at her before it comes to mind that SHE did this all.
He looked up at her gratitude and adoration definitely in his gaze he’s never been cooked for before the Dursleys would NEVER do such a thing he rarely had anything to eat actually.
Raven speaks then "Hey kid! Did you sleep well? Also I hope you're hungry I kind of cooked a lot."
He's never been asked if he's slept well. Was that common? Maybe. He always had tuned out his aunt, uncle, and cousins chatter not wanting to be reminded of what he didn't have and what he longed for... Oh right he should probably answer. "Yeah I slept great! Thank you" Harry says enthusiastically.
Raven smiles happily at this not mentioning the pause. "That's great kid!"
Harry thinks his mouths going to end up hurting from all the smiling he's doing it's just- he's never felt this happy before!
Ren chuckles good naturedly enjoying seeing his wife and grandchild interacting with so much happiness the last time there was a family get together well the news wasn't that pleasant but he finds it's not best to dwell on such things when this moment any moment with family is something precious to be cherished.
Harry finds himself being guided to the table by grandpa Ren eventually he situates himself at the table with a plate in front of him. He doesn't touch the food.
Ren and Raven share a concerned look over Harrys head he doesn't notice it but petunia does as she walks into the dinning room. She let's out a heavy sorrowful sigh as she looks at Harry. "You can eat Harry."
Harry startles but happily begins to dig into the food in front of him having been assured now that he wouldn't get in trouble with his aunt for eating.
