I can do this. I can do this.
The young witch kept on chanting the same phrase over and over again.
The battle at Hogwarts had taken its toll on her. She was not the same girl she was yesterday. She had changed. She was currently hiding in the shrieking snack, trying to come to terms with all the death she had witnessed during the battle.
"If Frankenstein could do it, so can you, you are the brightest witch of your age, damn it!"
Hermione Jean Granger had lost everything during the battle. All of her friends had died. Even her favorite teachers were gone. Everyone. She was well and truly alone now. She couldn't handle the loss anymore. She wanted to bring them all back, and that was exactly what she was doing in the shrieking shack.
Currently the Ministry is searching for her. She had taken the bodies from Hogwarts with her when she ran off. They were lying around in the shrieking shack, stacked up in some places. Soon she would get to them. They wouldn’t stay stacked up for long! She was the brightest witch of her age! She could do this!
She was currently working on her former professor, Severus Snape's body. He had died a meaningless death, and she wanted to bring him back. So much senseless death.
Unfortunately venom in his blood had pooled in his limbs and the tissue was now dead, and far beyond repair. She would just have to cut some of his limbs off. She was currently trying to work a hippogriff claw onto his body in place of his left arm. It wasn’t sticking quite as well as she would have liked. Finally it looked like it was merging together like she wanted it to.
She decided to remove another wizard's arm to replace professor Snape's right arm since it was such a struggle to get the hippogriff appendage to merge with the human tissue. Thankfully she was able to find an unknown wizard who had been hit with some nasty curse, but his right arm looked free from damage. He wouldn’t be needing that arm anyways.
She still needed to find some new legs for him, as it didn’t look like any of the bodies she had brought back with her had legs they could spare. At least not if she was going to try and bring some of her other friends back as well. She would need to go find some legs it seemed. After looking around again just in case she missed a good specimen, she took off into the night. She went inside the forbidden forest, still chanting to herself.
I can do this. I can do this.
Looking at her now, anyone would see that she had lost it. Her hair stuck straight out of her head, at least what hair she had left did. She hadn't taken a bath in weeks, all she wanted was to try and bring everyone back.
She went a long way Into the forbidden forest, before she found what she was looking for.
"These are perfect, Professor Snape will love those legs!" Hermione said as she found the body from a dead centaur.
She cut off the legs and started dragging them behind her. This was the last piece she needed, the very last one. Now she could finish him. She could put him all back together. Like a puzzle. Hermione was good at puzzles.
She could bring him back.
