Harry watched as Lucius made his attempts at wooing Severus. Lucius tried to woo him with fancy wine and expensive, lavish gifts. Lucius even offered him all manners of sex. Severus seemed flustered, but not interested. Harry almost giggled at the thought of Lucius prostrating himself in front of Severus. It made him sort of giddy to see the man rejected again and again.
Harry knew that Severus wouldn't want the kind of attention Lucius was giving him. Severus didn't like the kinds of gifts Lucius gave him. Severus didn't like how aggressive he was or how loud and obnoxious he was.
It didn't matter that Lucius was rich. It didn't matter that Lucius had status. Severus didn't care for those kinds of things.
So, Harry took it upon himself to out woo him. Show him how to really do it. He was attracted to Severus. He had fallen for him over the years. He was a good man. One worthy of wooing.
Harry sent him potion ingredients and rare potion journals. Harry sent him his favorite chocolates. Harry sent him photos he found of his mother. Harry carved a doe out of wood (it looked like his mother's Patronus). Harry didn't offer his body or sexual acts. He offered companionship, friendship, comfort, loyalty, strength, care, and love.
While Lucius tried to wine and dine Severus with several dates to sophisticated upscale restaurants, Harry offered him home-cooked meals, picnics in the park, and eating at the local pub.
Lucius tried to offer him money and investors for Severus' potions. Severus politely refused them. Harry offered to go into business with Severus, offering to cover the front with customers, while Severus fulfilled orders. Severus was pleasantly surprised and agreed to it.
Lucius even offered one of his prized peacocks to Severus. Severus almost laughed in his face. Harry could tell. He kept his mask up and told him, "No, thank you." Harry smiled to himself. Harry offered to get Severus an owl, which he accepted. Harry got him a beautiful black-banded owl.
Lucius tried to kiss him one day. Severus rejected his advances. Harry grew so angry and jealous. He marched right up to Severus and kissed him passionately right in front of Lucius. Severus met him with his own eagerness. Harry pulled away blushing and panting. Severus smirked down at Harry and raised an eyebrow. Lucius sputtered in denial.
Harry turned toward Lucius. "That's how you do it. He's mine. You better find someone else to woo," Harry growled.
Lucius saw the look in his eye and the power behind it. He high-tailed it out of there as quickly as he could with his dignity in tact.
"I'm yours, Mr. Potter?" Severus snarked.
Harry gulped and turned back to Severus. "Um, maybe. I - I was hoping so. I mean if you want. I would like to be yours and you can be mine. If that is something you want."
"Potter."
"I understand if you don't-"
"POTTER," Severus interrupted.
"Yes?" Harry squeaked.
"I would like that very much. Or did our mutual kiss melt your brain? I knew you were trying to woo me. I was flattered by what you were doing."
"Oh." Harry's cheeks warmed up pink.
"Yes, oh." They stood there quietly for a few moments.
"Does that mean we're together now?"
"Indeed it does."
Harry grinned. "Can I kiss you again?"
Severus leaned down and met him for another kiss. He didn't need to verbalize his agreement. Kissing was better than talking. Harry wholeheartedly agreed.
