Prologue
“You will be on your best behavior,”Walburga Black stated, “The young Lord Lupin will be a good match for you.”
“Yes Mother.”
“You will give him and his mother no reason not to accept you,”Walburga continued, “You will act exactly as I have taught you to or else.”
Regulus Black stared at his sibling sitting next to him in the carriage.
They were currently headed to Gryffindor, the land that had belonged to the Lupin family for generations.
They’ve never visited before, their home of Slytherin having a longstanding rivalry with Gryffindor.
Regulus knows that his mother hopes that this marriage will form an alliance that will prevent war between the two lands.
“You will listen to your mother when she is speaking to you,”Orion Black said firmly.
“Yes Father, Yes Mother.”
His sibling is stiff, staring out the window of the carriage.
Regulus is expected to sit on business deals with his father.
“Lord Lupin just recently passed away, yes,”Regulus asked.
“Yes, his son has already started taking over for him even though he is not yet 18,”Orion responded, “From what I’ve heard he is less impressive than his father was.”
They had arrived in Gryffindor, red and gold flags with lions on them were raised everywhere.
The Lupin estate sat at the back of the capital city of Godric's Hollow.
Their carriage pulled up to the front where he could see Lord Lupin and his mother waiting for them.
Orion stepped out of the carriage first, followed by Regulus.
Regulus heard his mother whispering instructions before exiting the carriage.
“It is so wonderful to have you here,”Lord Lupin greeted with a smile.
He was tall, with limbs he hadn’t quite grown into yet, green eyes, and freckles splattered across his face.
He shook Orion’s hand, then Regulus’, before bowing to Walburga.
His last step took him to that last member of the Black family, the one he is engaged to be married to.
“It is a pleasure to meet you,”Lord Lupin said, taking their hand in his to press a kiss to, “Lady Cassiopeia.”
