Ch 3

After the two finally finish their pop quiz and have an intimidating conversation with their intimidating teacher, giving them and Harry a warning for their silent note conversations, they make their way to check on their friend.

"He is such a great jerk", she said angrily about Severus and Ron nodded in agreement.

"I know? And does the man ever smile too?" He asked about the unstable stoic teacher.

Hermione scoffed in disbelief, shaking her head. "That will be the bloody day for that to happen, Ron", she grinned, Ron nodded with a smirk.

"Good point about that"

They made it to the door of Harry's chambers and Ron knocked on the door. "Harry, buddy, you in there?"

No response.

Hermione soon knocked on the door, "Harry, you in there?"

No response.

"It's okay, Harry, Severus just gave us all a warning that's all. He said he'll make you do the test tomorrow", Ron said.

"Harry?" Still no response.

Ron and Hermione were becoming more concerned for their friend and did not hesitate another minute they opened the door and Ron and Hermione found Harry lying on the floor on his side.

"Harry?!" Ron and Hermione immediately rushed to their friend seeing his pale skin forehead and face soaked in sweat as he was deeply panting with eyes tightly closed. "Harry, what happened?! Snap out of it! Harry, please wake up! Harry?!" Hermione shook his shoulders.

He remained unconscious and panting with hoarse wheezing breaths. "Harry?! Please wake up!" Ron shouted, he then got up and ran to the door. "Stay here, I'm going to find someone to help him! Stay here and try to get him warm or something!" Ron said she nodded, and Ron rushed to find the nearest one to help Harry.

He rushed down the halls and he accidentally bumped into the right one to help. But he was wrong, Ron gulped at the sight of the dark potion teacher.

Severus walked down the long halls having his usual cold gaze scare the many students and teachers as they spread away from him.

He liked being feared like this. He learned from Voldemort that fear is more acceptable than love. He never learned love except...Lily, before she left him for that James Potter and gave birth to that damn Potter boy. He despised the boy as he despised others, as he continued to walk he bumped into something, he grabbed it by the collar and saw the boy gulp in fear.

Severus glared at the boy with his usual cold eyes that were like knives stabbing the boy, "And where are you going in such a hurry?" He asked in a slow intimidating voice.

"Please...sir...Harry...", Ron whispered.

Harry. Potter. Why am I not surprised?

"Of course, the young Potter boy, and what does he have to do with you running like you are urgently in a hurry, do share?" Severus asked.

"Please, Professor Snape, Harry...his..."

Severus snapped. "Speak up!"

"Harry is not well! Hermione and I went to his room and he was lying on the floor, and he's...", Ron explained and before he knew it Severus gripped his arm and they marched to the room.

Ron and Snape entered the room seeing Hermione holding Harry in her arms with his head on her lap. Snape ignoring the feared eyes of the girl roughly let go of Ron, marched to the out-cold boy, and kneeled to him. "Harry, Harry, can you hear me? Potter, answer me now. Harry?" He said sounding both cold but feeling a slight hidden concern. He wasn't sure why he was acting this way, or being here for the Potter boy.

Harry makes a hoarse wheeze with his eyes tightly closed, "I'm...sorry...I didn't want...to worry...anyone...", he whimpers in pain and collapses once again.

"Harry, it's going to be okay", Hermione said while Ron kneeled to her side and their professor stared at them coldly.

"What happened?" He asked cruelly in a hint of intimidating anger.

Both students felt fear gripping them at their teacher. While Ron was timid to answer, Hermione found the courage to explain, "This morning he looked like this and we asked him if he was all right, but he said he was fine. We thought he was just tired, and in class, he looked he was struggling to breathe and awake and-", she was interrupted by the professor.

"And both of you allowed him to wander around even though you both knew he wasn't in a healthy state?" He asked in a fit of rage nearly raising his voice, and both students showed fear flinching away, not sure what else to say.

"It...wasn't their...fault...it was mine...I didn't want to...miss your...class, sir...Snape...and I didn't want them or..myself...to get in...trouble...please...accept my apology...", Harry makes a loud wheezing cough then collapses again while holding Snape's black robes.

"Quiet, brat, you are in no position to talk at this moment", he said stoically. Snape then gazed at the girl and boy. "Get Dumbledore immediately and find a nursemaid and inform her to come", he instructed Hermione and Ron to do.

They stared at him.

"NOW!!!" He boomed.

"Y-y-yes, Professor", Hermione squeaked.

"Yes, sir! Right away, sir!" Ron saluted him and Severus scoffed at both of them watching them take off quickly.

After the two took off to search for help, Severus was now alone with the boy. Severus gazes at the sickly child seeing how deathly pale he was and hearing him breathing wheezes that are raspy and rapid with coughs. Severus then placed his hand on the boy's forehead feeling how hot he was, then he just stared at him.

He should leave the room and leave the Potter boy to suffer or maybe die and make the prophecy cease to exist for his dark lord.

What a grand reward would that be for him to leave the Boy Who Lives to die of illness? Let him die? After all, he is the son of James Potter. But half of him was seeing an innocent boy who needed help, and the boy was the son of the one he loved...Lily.

"I should leave you here to die, I want to leave you to die. But half of me wishes me not to leave you to die", Severus icily said staring coldly at the boy.

"Great Odin's beard, Harry!"

Severus ignored worried words of Dumbledore and entered the room kneeling to the boy and a nurse Madam Pomfrey soon kneeled to the child while Hermione and Ron were standing at the doorway. "Oh, dear, Harry", she motherly said gently resting her hand on Harry's forehead feeling the hot temperature.

"He is gravelly ill", she said.

Severus ignored her as he continued to stare at the child.

Dumbledore noticed the coldness in the wizard's eyes but he felt the eyes were holding concern in them.
