Chapter 1

Hermione sighed as she checked off another thing on her todo list. They were having a big wedding at the inn, and the brides to be are a nightmare. She felt bad for their mother, considering all they did was bicker, she was the one that had to do most of the compromising. For instance, the color was violet since one wanted blue flowers and one wanted pink flowers. She glanced up and spotted Lorelai running around and directing different people to different areas of the Inn to set things up. Glancing at the time she sighed, and headed over to the overly exuberant woman.

"Lorelai, I have to head out to pick up Freddie. I'll be right back." Hermione said, handing over the clipboard and pointing at the last two things that needed done from my list. "There was a complication with the linens. I called them and they said they'll be down in an hour. That was two hours ago. And Michel needs to hand out the baskets. I tried to pester him about it, but he refused in his typical fashion."

"Your a life saver. I can do this unless you get back in time. Will you grab some-"

"Coffee? Way ahead of you."

"Your amazing."

"So I've been told." Hermione grinned, before grabbing her purse and heading to Luke's. She waved at Miss. Patty as she hopped out of her little car and entered the diner. "Hey, Luke," She greeted.

"Hey, Hermione. Coffee?"

She nodded. "Two coffees and an apple juice to go, please."

"Headed to pick up Freddie?" He asked.

She nodded again. "Yep. Then heading back to the inn. That big wedding Lorelai has been stressing over is this weekend, so we're trying to get everything sorted and set up."

Luke chuckled, placing both cups of coffee and an apple juice in front of her. Paying quickly, she headed towards her car and drove to the Stars Hallow preschool. A little boy with bright red hair, and brown eyes raced over to her, tackling her into a hug.

"Mom! Mom!" He shouted, babbling on and on about his school and his day.  Hermione pulled back a little, running her fingers through his hair, ginning softly. Hoisting his up, and placing his back pack on her other shoulder, she carried him to the car and buckled him in. As we pulled up the Inn, Hermione explained to Freddie that he would have to behave himself or no ice cream later. She placed him in the dinning room, gave him his stack of picture books he loves to read and handed him the apple juice from Luke's, placing a straw in the tiny cup for him. She pressed a kiss to his forehead, before heading towards the kitchen.

"Sookie, will you send out a piece of chocolate cake to Freddie when you get a moment?" Hermione asked gently, handing Lorelai the other Luke's coffee. Which she took greedily.

"Of course, sweets. Julio will you grab that piece of chocolate cake and take it out to Freddie in the dinning room? Thanks." Sookie said, not stopping in her full speed cooking frenzy.

"Where's Rory at today?" Hermione asked.

"She golfing at the club with my father."

"No." Sookie said with a slight tone of disgust.

Hermione shook her head, she and Lorelai had already had this lively debate. Then Michel came in and told Lorelai of the slight problem at the front desk. When Hermione went to follow, he stepped in front of her and prevented her from following.

"Michel, what are you doing?" She asked.

He folded his hands in front of himself stiffly. "There is someone at the front desk, that shouldn't be." He responded hastily.

It took a minute for Hermione to realize what he was doing. No. Eyes wide, Hermione snuck to the door and peeked out through a crack. There in all his glory, was George Weasley. "Freddie and I are going to go. Tell Lorelai that we left, and to have to stop by my house later." She said in a rush, before heading out into the dinning room. "Come on Freddie, we're gonna head home now." Freddie nodded his head and handed her a napkin to wipe off the chocolate that was smeared all over his face. Grabbing his books, and placing them in his backpack, we headed out the side door and to the car. Miss. Patty was waiting for them.

"Oh, Hermione Sweety. I tried to call the Inn when I saw him, but no one picked up. How are you?" She asked quickly, taking Freddie's backpack off her shoulder and carrying it inside.

"I'm alright, Miss. Patty. He didn't see us, which is good. Um, Lorelai is going to stop over later to tell me what happened. He can't stay at the inn, we're booked for that wedding. He'll have to leave and go somewhere else." She rationalized, setting Freddie down on the couch and heading to the kitchen to make up a cup of tea. Miss. Patty nodded her head, giving me a gentle hug before saying her goodbye's and a promise to check in on them later. It was hours later, that Lorelai and Rory came over. Freddie was already in bed, which gave them time to talk over George Weasley. They were the only two in Stars Hallow that knew about her being a witch, which Lorelai mocked endlessly since she never thought they were real.

"So, tell me what happened." Hermione urged, sipping her tea.

"He's staying in a hotel just outside of the Hallow. He's looking for you." Lorelai said, reaching over and grabbing Hermione's hand gently.

She sighed, having a feeling that was the case. "I don't want to see him."

"Mione, maybe this is the chance to clear the air between you two. And he has a right to know about Freddie." Lorelai said softly.

The curly haired girl nodded, knowing he was just going to keep coming back. "If he comes back, I'll talk to him. I don't know what I'm going to say, but I talk to him."

Her heart ached at the thought of him. She would never love someone like she had George, and she wasn't sure if she could let him back into her life. Not after all the things he said before she left the Burrow for good. Rory and Lorelai wrapped the witch in a tight hug. To them she was an honorary Gilmore, since she had no family left. She and Freddie were a part of their family. They saw Hermione pick herself up after the breakup, and the after affects of the war. The two left Hermione's house not long after, and Hermione curled up around her son before falling asleep.

She made it through the big wedding, before she saw him again. Lorelai was watching Freddie while she ran some errands. She was sitting at Luke's, having a cup of coffee. Her bags stacked in her car. She was trying to convince Luke to just ask out Lorelai for the seventyith time, only for him to continue to brush it off, when he walked in.

"Come on, Luke. All you have to do is ask her out. You'll know where you stand." Hermione pressed.

"Drop it, Mione." He gruffed.

"Luuuuke-"

"Don't start, or no more coffee or tea." He threatened.

I chuckled and sipped from my mug when red hair came into view from my peripherals. I sucked in a sharp breath, and turned to face him.

"Hello Hermione."

"George."
