Ch 7

Dumbledore, Severus, Ron, and Hermione; both wanted to save their friend no matter how old of age they were and the priest and hunter begrudgingly allowed them to come along with their men into the forest without encountering any danger, not even the Riddle Beast also known as Voldemort. Then the men stumbled standing face-to-face with Harry's relative's cottage, the priest and hunter stood and stared at each other.

"You think we should try to check on them?" Severus asked. Dumbledore moved his head still seeing no danger anywhere and back to the Potter residence. "We might...just to be sure if Harry's safe", he said sternly, Severus made a nod, and the men were signaled by the hunter to join and enter. The hunter hated Harry's relatives and wished many times to kill them, due to his knowledge that they were treating him with such disrespect and un-loving.

"Ron, Hermione, stay right here. If something happens or if you find Harry you run", Dumbledore said and they nodded at the priest.

One of the men walked to the front door and opened it slowly as he opened the most foal stench that came from the entrance of the house invaded all their noses making them groan and gag from the stench, then the man widened his eyes seeing the most horrifying sight that was too much for his stomach he leaned staggering away from the scene clenching his stomach and vomited having the men groan in disgust themselves as Severus and Dumbledore entered and gasped at the massacre carnage.

Vernon Dursley was found dead with his innards out and his wife was now dead lying in a puddle of her blood with stains of red all over the walls and entire room and the kitchen was in shamble wrecked.

Harry. Severus and Dumbledore thought and they raced into the backroom seeing the sight in the bedroom. Two wolves were the size of ancient dire wolves laying on the ruined bed one was pitch black of ebony fur and one had fur of pale white snow. Dumbledore and Severus stared at the two wolves, the room, and no sign of Harry Potter and they frowned with sadness and anger.

"I'll kill them both myself and make their heads as a trophy on my wall", Severus growled and the priest gave a serious nod. "Do what you must"

The hunter slowly entered the room first hearing both the wolf's deep growls of breath as they slept and raised his rifle ready to aim, then the white snow made a loud wide yawn and lifted its head staring at the hunter and priest.

Severus was about to aim, but not only did he notice, but Dumbledore noticed something about the snow-furred wolf. It has deep green emerald eyes...just like Harry's and its neck mane has such black strands with pale white fur as the very snow. No, it couldn't be...Harry.

"Har...ry?" Dumbledore asked in absolute shock.

The white wolf flattened its ears making a soft whine.

Severus dropped his gun with his mouth dropping in shock as his eyes were wide and unblinking. "Dear God...Harry..."

The white wolf makes another whine then the black wolf awakens abruptly and stands on fours staring intensely at the human men while standing in front of its mate protectively. Then a human barged into the bedroom holding the gun at the wolves. "Die, demons!"

"No!" Severus yelled and Dumbledore and Severus grabbed the man's arms making him fire at the ceiling, in a quick flash the two wolves escaped breaking through the window and disappearing into the night as the rest of the men tried to chase after them. Ron and Hermione and a few of the men look on and the men start to chase them.

"No!" Don't, hold your fire! Don't fire, hold your fire, men!" Severus yelled.

"Don't shoot them! Don't shoot them!" Dumbledore yelled in panic.

Hermione and Ron stared at the white wolf as it vanished into the night with the ebony wolf.

"Harry!" Both Hermione and Ron yelled out to their friend knowing as Dumbledore and Severus also knew that they all would never see Harry Potter again.

The story follows the journey of the young wolf who had been held in cruelty by his relatives for years back when he was once a human. But now he is free. As he and his mate managed to escape into the deep woods, he ran and ran, leaving behind his former home and loved ones, silently bidding farewell to them, knowing that he might never see them again. But as he ran along with his mate, a sense of contentment started to spread within him, and he smiled wolfishly, feeling the cold air of freedom rushing through him. As they ran deeper into the woods, they were joined by other wolves of the forest, those who were once humans and some who were all ordinary. The pack continued to run, the young wolf and his mate leading the way.

After what seemed like hours of running, they finally reached the edge of a cliff, overlooking the village where the young wolf had been raised. Even though he had and will always have fond memories of the place from his childhood of the kind priest, the stoic hunter, and his dear friends, he knew he could never go back there, not after what he had been through, and wishes to never look or go back.

As the pack of wolves stood at the edge of the cliff, they raised their heads to the dark sky and howled their melody to the mother goddess of the moon. The young wolf and his mate's howls were the loudest, as they pressed themselves close to each other and sang their harmony song to the moon.

The young wolf had never lost his innocence, and his heart had never hardened, but he had chosen this life to remain by his mate's side. He knew that there was nothing for him back in his former life, and he was content with his happily ever after.

He is now in the company of the wolves.
