Ch 5
Harry was running towards the cabin feeling his red cape flapping behind him, his mind overwhelmed with what he had just witnessed. He had seen Severus and Voldemort together as if they were in the midst of a battle. After reaching the cabin, Harry stopped to catch his breath, panting heavily. He turned to look back in the direction he had come from, away from the scene. Then he frowned hearing the door opening and seeing his uncle.
"There you are, you useless little weakling! Where's my food?" Vernon asked and Harry shakily held his basket in the air for him to come and take as he forgot his leftover savior loaf of bread. Vernon snickered hungrily snatched the basket and rampaged inside for his enjoyment of food. "Don't just stand there, start the fire and do the rest of your chores!" He snapped, Harry nodded and retreated to the cabin to finish the chores of cleaning, doing laundry, starting the fire, and making dinner.
As he continued to do his exhausting duties his mind was dancing in anxiety for Severus and for...Voldemort.
Are they all right?
Did one last least getaway?
Are they fighting?
Are they all right?
Is Voldemort all right?
Voldemort, please alright.
Please be all right.
Harry felt a slap in the face by his aunt Petunia. "Sweep faster, boy, or you can sleep outside", she threatened, he sweeps faster he can't wish to sleep outside in the fierce cold and as much as he hates sleeping in the cabinet he should stay indoors rather than outdoors. He continues doing the rest of his chores.
He didn't get any sleep last night being in great concern. He wandered through the forest path to the village and saw no trace of Voldemort anywhere fear filled his heart as he reached the village he gathered the numerous goodies for his hungry uncle and aunt while he snuck a few leftovers for him, as he headed out he spots Severus who stared at him with a very serious look. Harry gulped as he walked to him.
"Harry", Severus said in a stone voice with the face of his usual stoicism but eyes of worry. "We need to talk. Now", he said firmly grabbing Harry's arm and taking him to the village cathedral in the center of the village. They entered the church and saw Dumbledore standing in the middle of the worshipping room. Harry wasn't sure what was about to happen.
"Harry...are you alright?" The priest asked calmly.
Harry nodded a shaky smile as he pulled his red hood back. "Yes,...sir", he answered shyly of guilt.
He nodded. "Severus informed me about the wolf and you with it", he said in confusion and concern.
Harry nodded with the truth. "Yes. The wolf is my friend", he said.
The hunter and priest dilated their eyes in the shocking surprise of not only Harry with the Riddle Beast but also saying the wolf is his friend. "Friend?" Severus hissed which gave the boy chills.
The priest held his hand. "Calm, Severus", he then placed both hands on the boy's shoulders with calm eyes of concern. "Your friend, Harry?"
The boy made a reassuring gentle smile and nodded. "Yes, sir. I helped it and it became my friend. My only friend that I have wanted for a long time"
Severus stared at the priest and back at Harry. "Child...that...beast...is not your friend, Harry. It is nothing but a dangerous creature that is responsible for making the village live in fear of it, many suppliers tried to make it to the village but they never returned or were seen again. That 'friend' is a danger to us. To you", he said, Harry shook his head.
"No, Severus, he is kind to me. Voldemort-"
"Voldemort?! You named the beast, Harry?" Dumbledore asked in most of the shock.
"No. That is his name, sir. Voldemort", Harry smiled.
Dumbledore gently squeezed his shoulders. "Harry...stay away from the creature. If it comes you must run straight to the cabin or it will kill you, son. It is possibly trying to make a trap for you. You can't go near the beast again"
"But...", Harry tries to reply but Severus cuts him off. "No. Harry, stay away from that demon"
Harry makes a sad face. "Harry, like a stranger you cannot trust a demon like that monstrosity", Dumbledore said and Harry made a sad nod. He was soon escorted out of the cathedral by Severus and once the boy was out of his sight, the hunter rushed back inside.
"Severus, you think the beast is near the area?" The priest asked.
"There is a possibility I'm sure of that, Harry has become attached to the boy...but when I confronted the beast it ordered Harry to run away...just as I instructed him to do and before I could attack it just took off", Severus said and the priest made a shocked face.
"It ordered Harry to run away when you found it with the boy?"
"Indeed"
Dumbledore walked in circles with hands behind his back and back at the priest. "Gather a few of the men and let's go to find the beast before it tries to attack Harry, it may all be a trap or something that the beast is planning to do for the child"
Harry makes out of the cathedral and sees Hermione and Ron staring at him with smiles that showed relief, they immediately rush to their friend and embrace him in their arms.
"Harry, we heard from the hunter what happened. Are you all right?" Ron asked.
Harry smiled at his best friends. "I am fine"
Hermione released him and Ron, and looked at him. "Are you sure, you are all right, Harry? Those creatures are dangerous", she said. Harry shook his head in refusal. "Not him, guys, he is so kind to me. He is like you two, my friends", he smiled.
Hearing those words made Ron and Hermione become flattered, but at the same time being more worried for their friend admiring a wolf as his friend. "Harry, those wolves they are dangerous creatures, especially those who take the form of a wolf", Ron said.
Harry shook his head in denial about Voldemort. "Not him. Not Voldemort"
He smiled at the cabin widely with such maliciousness in his eyes walking calmly to the door and after moments of straightening his black cloak and hat with his long ebony hair down to his shoulders, he knocked on the door slowly, and the knocks held such silent sinister within.
"About time you came back!" A female voice rang that sounded such unkindness and cruelty that it made him hide a snarl then the door opened and he stood face to face with his prey who smiled at him.
"Oh, hello, good sir. I...I...I thought you were someone else...may I help you?" She asked in a very different tone of voice than she had ever made that she had never made this kind of time to her husband.
"Please forgive me, but I lost a friend yesterday and I hope you don't mind me waiting here to rest until morning or hoping he will arrive soon", he said politely in a strong voice.
Petunia grabs him by the arm opening the door widely for him to enter. "Yes, yes do come in, good sir"
He smiled showing his fangs as he entered seeing the fireplace, the small kitchen, and seeing a rocking chair with an obese man lazily sitting and waiting. "Is the brat back with my food?! Who is that? Where's the little brat? Throw him back out and take the brat with you!" Vernon commanded yelling. His heart was burning and yelling pure rage just ready to attack.
"Quiet, Vernon! For the first time, I finally see something pleasant than you and the little brat!" She yelled aggressively and he hid a snarl underneath his curled lip.
Such disgusting humans they are. Out of all the humans I have devoured these two are the most to be tasty for me.
He licked his lips hiding a growl just waiting for the moment to kill.
