The same but different eyes
The Magic world is still hiding and even the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood (these women were the mother from Paul, Lady Jessica is part of) don’t know about wizards.
The Gesserit are successors from squibs who although not had as powerful magic as wizards still had magic just weaker with not being able to do all magic spells or even the easiest spell wandless. One of the squibs was a seer and because of the ability being so useful and it being something that doesn’t require a wand to use it. They tried to keep it and were able to.
As squibs got taken away from their family at eleven they didn’t know everything about the wizards world or couldn’t remember everything anymore because they were so young. Later on it stopped with squids taken away from the magic world and instead they got jobs which they were able to do even with less magic than the average wizard.
It is so long ago that, that with the squibs happened, that the Gesserit don’t remember the existence of the wizards world as all knowledge and history got long lost. Only some little rumors still left from even less people know about.
The Black family ,although not of the Great Houses, is an ancient house which since Generations has great influence in the politics of the empire.
Even though the Great House have more power in the politic as in military, the Black family gets much respect and many listen to what they say because they are very famous for their cunning abilities in politics and knowing with which Great House to side when there is uneasiness between the Great Houses. Until now there isn’t a single time where the House that the Blacks picked didn’t end up winning.
Along the influence, the black family is very wealthy, they have more gold than some of the Great Houses.
They are famous for their looks too as most of them look very similar, but the most famous are the Blacks eyes which all look black, grey and silver at the same time it’s only a matter from which angle they are looked at.
No matter how far from main three the person is, as long as they are related and have a little bit of Black blood, their eyes will be the beautiful colors of the Blacks. Sometimes the color of the eyes could be a bit muddy, pale, not as beautiful or not have the changing effect when they aren’t a close relativ from the main three.
And the Blacks are of course ‘The Noble and Most Ancient of Black’ in the wizard world.
Paul’s mother, lady Jessica was of a party of the Great Houses where Orion Black as the Lord Black was too.
They both got very drunk and slept with each other.( I know, could have come up with something better)
While Orion was allowed to have affaires as Male and lord Black.
Jessica was destroyed that she actually slept with another man, who wasn’t her husband. Even more so as they had started trying for a child some times already.
She kept apologizing to her husband and explaining it to him. Duke Leto Atreides forgave her and they never told anyone about it.
Some time later she got pregnant and although they aren’t quite sure if the child is from Orion or Leto. They decided to keep the child.
Lady Jessica gave birth to twins who look identical. The only difference is that the older has the blue eyes of his mother while the younger had the Black eyes. Even as they look the same except for the eyes, it was somehow still able to tell that they had different fathers. In the older could Leto still be seen and the younger still somehow looked like Orion.(don’t ask me if it is possible to be pregnant with two children each having a different father at the same time. I don’t know but let’s call it ✨magic✨. Also it is possible for wizards to be pregnant. Not every man is able to be pregnant, only bearers and they are rare but not uncommon, btw. Regulus is a bearer.)
They didn’t know what to do. If others looked at the younger they would immediately see that it wasn’t Leto’s already because of the eyes. And the Gesserit are already very angry at Jessica because she gave birth to a boy instead of a girl like requested. If they find out that there are twins who not only are both boys but that one of them is from another man, Jessica and the babies will be in danger.
They decided to lay their younger son at the doorstep of the Black house. It was safer that not only for the children but also for Jessica.
Orion took him in and named him Regulus Arcturus Black. Walburga hated him, he wasn’t a Pureblood. But when she was forced to bloodadopt Regulus from the lord of the House Orion and his father Arcturus, she blew completely up. She as outraged that she needed to blood adopt but it was so that regulus looked more like her so that nobody suspects that he was a bastards child. Something like that would never happen in the Black family.
Walburga neglected and abused Regulus but she also often ignored him because he wasn’t worth her time as a bastards child. Even if he didn’t knew that he was one. Sirius thought Regulus was the favorite as he got so often ignored from Walburga and it only got worse when they got to Hogwarts. Sirius ran away, Regulus needed to take his place, he was forced to become a death eater and he needed to learn and perform as many spells as possible. Attack, Defence, Dark, light, the Unforgivables and many more spells did he needed to learn. He also is very talented in potion.
When he was dying from the inferi dragging him under the water. Lady magic let him survive as he gets apparated to the sand planet where Paul and his family are just moving in. Because of the poison Regulus drank and Lady magic the looks that he got from Walburga through the blood adoption get broken and he looks like Paul just with different eyes now. Even though it isn’t that much different from what he looked like before. Lady magic lets him know about the fact that he has a different family other than the Blacks and he will be able to recognize them when he sees his older twin brother who looks just like him.
What will happen next??? Will the brothers meet??? What about the problems that are rising in the horizon in the name of the Harkonnen??? How will Regulus survive on Arrakis???
