Hi.It's been a while since I've yk.Uploaded something. No insane ao3 author excuse, just writers block, mental health, and not enough time. Also the formatting doesn’t work for some reason !! I’ll try to fix that later, but for now it’s just kinda shitty, sorry about that :(Anyways enjoy angst I wrote in my notes app at 3 am !!

Sirius thinks that, in another life, he would've been a rockstar.

Singing and screaming his heart out on stage, having fans that enjoyed his music, that maybe even got saved by it, just like he got saved by music.

He thinks he would've liked that. Too bad he never got his hands on any instrument that wasn't a violin though, his mother would've been furious, and after he ran away he just didn't really have the money, refusing to take any from Effie and Monty.

And after that, after graduating Hogwarts, he had to spend everything on necessities, there wasn't any money left over to spend on stupid things like an expensive guitar. It's a shame, really, Pete did always say he liked to hear Sirius sing too bad he was a traitor, and Regulus always calmed down because of Sirius his voice after a panic attack oh Reggie, his poor brother must've been so scared , and Sirius couldn't even soothe him-.

Sirius was sad about not being able to pursue his dreams because of the damned prison he was in , but it's okay. He doesn't think he could ever do or sing about anything but death and grief after watching his best friend's, his brother's, body lay lifeless on the floor. People don't want to hear rock songs about that.

Still, sometimes, when he's sure none of the other prisoners can hear him, he looks at the stars, and quietly tabs his foot on the ground in a decent rhythm, and sings. Sings for his little brother, sings for his other brother, sings for the love of his life moony probably hates him, he thinks Sirius killed them, and sings for his lost dreams.

--------------

When he was younger, Remus always dreamed of being a politician.

A good one, changing the world for the better, helping and representing those less fortunate. After all, young Remus was definitely one of those. Fortune and luck weren't on his side, his mum was dirt poor after his father died, he was a fucking werewolf, and he couldn't even go to school.

Remus was the most upset about that, not being able to go to school. Because of his condition, because of the fact that they were poor, and because he was a wizard. He'd always look through the windows of their local elementary school, seeing kids in their seat chatting, learning, joking, messing with the teacher, socialising, it was everything Remus ever wanted.

When he got into Hogwarts, the young boy was delighted, finally , he could have an education, go to school, study and get smarter, maybe even make friends ! He did all of those , he graduated as one of the smartest in his class, which he studied so much for, and he made friends for life just a shorter life than he had hoped.

But, after everything, he couldn't become a politician like he had hoped. In the wizarding world , they didn't want a werewolf to be in charge, to be one of the people making decisions over their society, of course not, he was a monster. In the muggle world, he didn't have a good enough education. A random school in Scotland, one no-one had ever heard of, just wasn't enough. And going to college wasn't an option, that was way too expensive, and even though James offered to help pay, just like Sirius oh Sirius, his beautiful star, Remus refused to take any of his money, he'd already been such a burden to the bright boy he had the honour of calling his best friend.

Its a shame, but not all dreams can come true , he supposes.

----------

James was meant to be a father.

He was always good with kids, and loved them too. Loved seeing their eyes light up as he told a story, loved their energetic nature, but also loved their sweet and kind nature, wanting to comfort people when they were sad, even though they didn't know what the person was sad about.

As soon as he and lily got married, they tried for a baby. 10 months after their wedding, little Harry was born. The kid was James' pride and joy, sharing his wide and lively smile with the boy. Lily always joked that she should've never had kids with James , his offspring would obviously inherit his love chaos and mischief. James always replied with a dorky comment, and then Lily would kiss him, and he would grin from ear to ear.

It's sad, really, he wishes he'd at least made it to his mid twenties, that he'd at least get to watch his son's big milestones. He had got to watch his kid say 'mama' and 'dada' though, so that was something. He would never forget Harry screaming 'Dada' while Voldemort pointed his want at James, even in death the memory made him shiver.

If he and lily just had more time, they'd have had a big family, harry could have had a sister, who had James' eyes and lily's hair, or a brother, a combination of James and his wife. He would have played with the kids, dressing up with them, taking them to school, standing up for them, make them lunch, he would've done all of that and more.

Too bad he never made it past his twenties, and all his dreams died with him at only 21.

-------------

Peter Pettigrew couldn't count the times he'd heard "what a waste", or some variation of the phrase on just his hands.

He'd heard it about himself, in the context of him supposedly "dying", people mourning a wasted life, taking too young. He'd heard it when he joined the deatheaters, someone muttered it under their breath as Peter said his name and age, he had only been a young boy when he made the worst decision of his life after all.

He'd heard it when he entered Marlene McKinnon's home, his childhood best friend, the one who'd been by his side since day one. She'd whispered in his ear, "it's such a waste Peter, such a waste". It still haunted him to this day. He wished he'd whispered something back , anything , just a simple apology or an 'its okay' that meant nothing, because Peter was the one killing her.

He'd heard it from Harry, James' son when the kid found out about what Peter did, it almost felt like James saying it, with how much they look alike,he'd heard it from Minnie, his favourite teacher, he'd heard it from Remus, his former best friend. It was also his last thought before he died, being strangled by his own fake hand.

"What a waste , he whispered under his breath, What a waste of dreams.
