Chapter 34
In the solemn atmosphere of Hogwarts' headmistress's office, Professor McGonagall's expression was clouded with unhappiness. Harry, however, exuded a sense of determination, while Ginny appeared uncertain about her role in the unfolding situation.
"I’m not sure this is what the Marauder’s Map was intended for," Professor McGonagall remarked, her tone tinged with disapproval.
Harry, undeterred, replied, "If you see them together, then get to them as quickly as possible, and keep them separate."
Professor McGonagall hesitated, voicing her concerns, "Harry, I agree that all Slytherins are evil, but I don't trust Bane."
"But I trust Bane. Albus is to stay away from Scorpius. For his sake, and others," Harry asserted firmly.
"I totally agree Harry. You need to watch Albus," Ginny chimed in, her voice filled with agreement.
"Albus has been checked by the greatest witches and wizards in the country, and no one can find or sense a hex or a curse," Professor McGonagall interjected, attempting to assuage Harry's worries.
"And Dumbledore — Dumbledore said —" Harry began, his voice trailing off as he struggled to articulate his thoughts.
"What?" Professor McGonagall pressed, her curiosity piqued.
"His portrait," Harry replied quietly.
"And what did his portrait say?" Professor McGonagall inquired further.
"He said love had blinded me," Harry confessed, his words heavy with the weight of realization.
Professor McGonagall's expression softened, acknowledging Harry's vulnerability. "Then you are right. I will help you," she declared solemnly.
"Albus didn’t like me before. He might not like me again. But he will be safe," Harry declared with determination. "This map will reveal to you where my son is at all times — I expect you to use it. And if I hear you don’t — then I will come down on this school as hard as I can — using the full force of the Ministry — is that understood?"
Professor McGonagall nodded in agreement, her resolve matching Harry's. "Perfectly."
