Chapter 10

Albus rushed to Scorpius, who sat upon his case, seemingly withdrawn from the world.

"Scorpius," Albus exclaimed with delight, then quickly shifted to concern, "Are you alright?"

Scorpius remained silent, his eyes betraying the turmoil within.

"Is it your grandfather Lucius? Is he dead?" Albus inquired gently.

"It has," Scorpius replied softly, "and now my grandmother weeps incessantly. And father isn't better"

Albus lowered himself beside Scorpius, expressing his support.

"I had expected an owl from you," Albus admitted.

"He was first person with who I was close and who is dead. Even if I didn’t like that he together with my grandmother sometimes argued with my parrents, I was shocking and I couldn't find the words," Scorpius confessed.

"Now that I'm here, I'm at a loss for words myself," Albus confessed.

"Then say nothing," Scorpius responded.

"Is there anything I can do?" Albus asked, eager to help.

"Attend the funeral," Scorpius requested solemnly, "and stand by me as my loyal friend."

"Of course," Albus promised without hesitation, "I'll be there for you."
