Chapter 8

As the Potions class commenced, Gryffindor Polly Chapman's disdainful gaze fell upon Albus Potter, whose presence seemed inconsequential to her. Even the portraits on the walls seemed to avert their eyes as he ascended the stairs. Albus, undeterred by the silent judgement, focused intently on his potion, murmuring to himself, "And now we add... is it horn of bicorn?"

Meanwhile, Roze muttered to her friend Karl Jenkins, "Leave him and that pug-faced traitor child to it, I say."

Albus wanted continue his potion-making efforts, adding a touch of salamander blood with care but couldn't concentration. Suddenly, the potion erupted in a loud explosion, drawing attention from his classmates.

Concerned, Scorpius approached Albus and inquired, "Okay. What’s the counter-ingredient? What do we need to change?"

Albus sighed, realizing the extent of his mistake, and replied, "Everything."
