Chapter 33
A few weeks later
Walking into the dualing club I frown seeing Malfoy and Potter on a platform, I move to Lily standing next to a student watching the fight.
A snake lands on the floor hissing glancing up at hearing speaking I nudge Lily when it looks like Potter's encouraging the snake to attack while we know he's trying to stop it.
I silencing Potter as Lily nudges the boy back holding her hand out to the snake speaking to it and getting it in her hands, she gently taps it's nose smiling "That's a good girl" she coos shocking everyone as I Transfigure a sack for the snake.
She smiles getting it to go in before I close it "Professor Prince may I keep her?" She asks.
He scoffs waving her off so we turn walking out hearing the boy demanding to know what Potter was playing at.
Getting out of the room I smile seeing Lily pull the snake out letting it wrap around her shoulders before she pets it's head.
As we walk we hear others coming out whispering about how Potter was trying to get the snake to attack and how we stopped it from happening.
Smiling I reach out petting the snake "Go set her up in the room" I say.
Lily nods heading off to put the snake up before I feel Milli come up putting her arm around my shoulders laughing "How'd it go for you?" I ask.
She shrugs stepping back smirking "Ended up putting Lavender in a headlock hitting her".
Nodding I chuckle shaking my head "You used physical attacks?"
"She's not worth using my magic on"
I nod glancing at her at feeling her hand brush against mine, biting my lip I lace our fingers together holding her hand.
"You didn't join the class" she says softly.
Shaking my head I glance at her again "No, McGonagall has been giving me extra lessons with Transfiguration during that".
Milli nods leading me outside "So princess, would you be open to a walk with me?'
"Like courting?"
She shrugs stepping in front of me "Not courting but I'm open to the possibility of it, just us getting to know each other without our friends around for now".
I bite my lip looking down "When I turn 16 my dragon wakes up completely and if I meet my mate it will reject anyone that's not them" I whisper.
She reaches out making me look at her "Just friends and if I'm not your mate, I'll accept that we will never happen".
Nodding I take her arm walking with her as we talk till she suddenly flips forward hitting the ground, she growls getting up as I look seeing Lily and Emma "What the hell" I demand shocking them with my language.
Lily shakes off her shock first snarling "Hermione get over here now" she orders.
Seeing Milli standing I move between them crossing my arms glaring at my sisters "No, you just attacked my friend for no reason".
"She's trying to court you" Emma says glaring at Milli.
"So what if she is? She's been nice and respectful to me, you both told me it was time I was my own person outside of you but now you're trying to stop me"
"That doesn't include dating" Lily growls.
"We're just talking and getting to know each other, I told her how mating works and she understood" I say raising my voice.
Seeing they're both ignoring me I pull Milli heading back inside ignoring my sisters following us yelling, I huff glaring at them "Just leave me alone" I yelling.
They both freeze looking at me, taking that moment I grab Milli's hand and run till we reach my room.
Going in I turn looking at Milli "Are you okay?" I ask.
She nods frowning while touching her head "Yeah, just hit my head nothing to worry about" she says softly before sitting down.
"I'm sorry" I whisper.
"It's fine Hermione but you should make up with them, older siblings are over protective I should have talked to them first before asking anything of you"
Frowning I look at her crossing my arms "Excuse me" I hiss.
She sighs shaking her head "They're worried about me using you or hurting you, I should have explained to them my intentions, I know I'll be the same way over my little sister when she starts dating".
Milli stands up touching my cheek "Talk to them and make up, they love you and I'll go through their intimations about what's acceptable".
She turns heading out and I frown sitting there before hearing my door slam open, looking up I see my sisters glaring around my room.
"Where is she?" Lily demands.
"She left" I mumble curling up.
"I'm going to fucking kill her" Lily yells going to leave but Emma grabs her arm stopping her.
"Lily, stop Hermione's upset"
Lily looks at me frowning before growling "What did she do" she demands grabbing my face making me look at her.
Jerking away from her I bare my teeth at her "She didn't do anything but defend you both, it's both of you that upset me, I will never be allowed to be my own person because you both keep trying to coddle and baby me".
