the proposal
"babe, you look great" James yelled over the sound of the water from the shower where he was currently washing the shampoo out of his hair.
"you have to say that" Regulus replied. He had changed his outfit 3 times in the past 10 minutes.
James had told him they were going to a out for dinner, however when Regulus asked where the only place he could think of was the fanciest place in town.
So here they are, Regulus picking out a fancy outfit while James showered, telling Regulus he looked great in every outfit he put on.
It worked out anyway because they werent going to dinner at all and James wanted Regulus to like the outfit he was wearing when he was proposed to so he stuck to telling him he looked great in every outfit (which he really did in James' opinion).
"ugh, i'm asking Remus" Regulus huffed and James laughed, listening as the facetime rang through.
Remus answered, trying to hide the fact that he and Lily were already at the café waiting.
James had picked Sirius and Regulus up an hour ago from therapy and dropped a confused Sirius off at Remus and Lilys apartment telling him that Remus wanted to see him which of course he shrugged and went into their apartment building.
James and Regulus then went to get ready at home while Remus and Lily told Sirius of James' plans and took him to the café to wait for the pair.
Of course, knowing of Sirius' secret spilling problems, Remus confiscated Sirius' phone and has kept it in his pocket since.
Remus smiled signing a hi to Regulus, the black background behind him making it so he was the only thing visible in the camera.
"where are you?" Regulus asked, not being able to sign due to his hands being busy with his hair.
James suddenly pulled the curtain back, peeking his head out to look at the camera, fearing Regulus may catch on.
Thankfully, Remus had been smart, thank god for Remus Lupin.
in my room, its just dark Remus signed and that was enough for Regulus because he started asking Remus a bunch of questions about how he looked.
no you look great, i like it Remus replied and Regulus nodded, accepting Remus' opinion.
"see exactly what i said" James chirped in but soon stopped when Regulus reached his hand out and flipped the temperature dial for the shower, making James squeel at the freezing water.
"exactly" Regulus smirked and james grumbled before continuing to wash the conditioner out of his hair.
"is Sirius still with you?" Regulus asked, twisting one last curl into place.
yeah, he's at the toiletthough Remus signed and Regulus nodded.
"pass me that towel please, babe" James asked, turning the shower off and peering out around the curtain.
Regulus passed him to towel and James wrapped it around his waist and secured it before stepping out and into the camera to see Remus.
He waved with an excited smile and Remus returned the wave, smiling excitedly.
James pressed a kiss to Regulus' cheek before going into their room and getting himself changed.
James picked out a white shirt and black suit trousers, opting for rolling the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows, the way Regulus loves.

Sirius to go get some Water
for Lily as soon as Reg called
James:
We'll be 10 minutes
James and Regulus were in the car within 10 minutes and James set off driving, his heart hammering in his chest.
"oh, we have to call at the café first, i gotta count the money real quick" James' nerves eased when Regulus nodded, smiling at James before going back to playing on his phone.
James sent a sneaky text to Remus as they pulled up and he was grateful to see the lights off, apart from a few candles which he knew Regulus wouldn't notice.
James had told Remus and Lily to turn the fairy lights on and stay hidden as they walked in.
James unlocked the door and Regulus stood next to him, putting his phone in his pocket. James pushed the door open and allowed Regulus to walk in first.
As he did so, the fairy lights switched on and the whole room lit up, showing photos of the two of them all around, a trail of flower petals down the centre of the room.
"what is going on?" Regulus asked, looking around confused before looking at James who was smiling softly at him.
"no" Regulus breathed, a smile on his face as he looked at James.
"yeah" James laughed nervously, lowering himself onto one knee.
"i have loved you for as long as i can remember and i want to be with you until the very end" Regulus stood smiling at James who held onto one of his hands tightly.
James pulled the small box out of his trouser pocket and opened it, revealing the ring.
"Regulus Black, Will you marry me?" James asked, a beaming smile on his face.
"Yes, you big sap" Regulus nodded, laughing as James stood up and hugged him tightly, lifting him off the floor and spinning him around.
James placed Regulus down and slid the ring onto his finger, before being immediately pulled into a kiss.
"hell yeah!!" Sirius, Lily and Remus stood up from where they hid, Sirius yelling loudly at the pair.
"Oh my god" Regulus laughed as Sirius enveloped them both in a pair.
"do you have any idea how hard keeping this secret has been?" Sirius asked and James burst out laughing.
"Sirius you've known for an hour" He replied and Sirius nodded "hardest hour of my life, Remus confiscated my phone and everything" Sirius laughed and Remus and Lily joined the group.
"Thank you guys, for your help" James smiled and Remus nodded.
"so, dinner to celebrate?" James suggested and Everyone laughed, making their way out of the cafe, waiting for James to lock up before getting into the car.
And the rest of the night was spent eating, laughing and sharing memories and stories from the past but most importantly talking about the future of Regulus and James Potter.
