Remember when
It all happened so quickly.
There was screaming, a girls scream.
His knuckles hurt.
Like really fucking hurt.
Remus opened his eyes, he was in the hallway next to the courtyard. And Severus Snape was sitting on the ground in front of him, clutching his nose as well as his left eye.
Oh shit.
Then it all came back.
Remus hated school, he had very few friends. One of those few friends being being Lily Evans, someone just as unpopular as him, just for different reasons.
That was Lily Evans was his friend, when she wasn't coddling Severus bloody Snape, the biggest bully in second year. With a nose to match.
Remus was just trying to go to his maths class with Lily trailing a little ahead of him, when Snape started blabbing his mouth.
"How does someone without a mum end up with so many scars, huh Loopy?" Snape snared while blocking the door just as he was about to follow Lily in.
"It's not like she had anytime to discipline you. She was too busy rolling in her grave." Remus stopped trying to shove his way past. He was frozen, for Snape had always said some pretty nasty things in the past but that was a lot.
His words enveloped his thoughts, to the point where everything after those words were foggy. But what Remus does remember was taking a step backwards, looking Severus directly in the eye, being about the same height.
And swinging his fist, hard and fast.
There was a crack.
It was Lily that screamed he's pretty sure now.
But that isn't what mattered.
Nothing but boiling white rage covered his sense. So much so that when he was being dragged away he almost missed a boy with black hair looking at him as if he just hung the moon. Not jump a kid.
Almost.
The Snape incident happened on the last week of term, right before summer break and the start of his third year at Hogwarts. That was if he was allowed back.
Headmaster Mcgonagal, an old witch who secretly scares the shit out of Remus told him he was suspended and was able to start his vacation early. Along with a stern letter home voicing her concerns involving Remus's wellbeing. As well as a warning that some point he will be receiving another letter, revolving around whether or not he will be allowed back.
Let's hope it's a no.
Though now that summer is starting, Remus can hopefully find a balance again.
Remus lives in a tiny block of flats in Denbighshire, Wales with his father. With its shitty plumbing and even shitter installation, Remus spends most of his summers outside. Though this summer was different then his past. This summer he met Derwen.
