The Road to the Pokémon League!

Another day of their trip had passed and now they watched Ash face a boy who Harry was sure shouldn't have had six pokéballs.

Ash was using Pidgeotto against Rattata, the battle, if you can call it that, didn't last a whole minute.

"So, how many have there been so far?" Harry asked with a yawn, the trainers here were coming in a damn herd, it wasn't possible.

"Tenth victory." Ash smiled at Harry. "No big challenge though."

"You really are a great pokémon trainer!" Said the boy who lost shaking hands with Ash.

"Thanks, but you're lucky you didn't face that one over there." Ash said pointing with his thumb at Harry who gave him a confused look. "He would have wiped the floor with both of us at the same time."

"Oh, stop it!" Harry told him. "Of course I would have, but you're going to make me blush." Harry added with a growing smile.

"I doubt he'll ever blush like that." Misty whispered to Brock.

"Then I bet you guys could even beat AJ!" The boy exclaimed.

"AJ?" Ash asked.

"Yeah! He lives there!" The boy pointed in the direction. "He built his own gym and hasn't lost a single match so far!"

"Well... That's not a bad idea, what do you guys think?" Ash asked the group.

"That's fine by me, I just want a fun battle and if this AJ is really strong it'll be cool." Harry shrugged and Misty and Brock nodded.

"Then let's go!"

Soon after walking they reached a large gate that had a scoreboard showing '98 wins/0 losses.'

"98 wins in a row is a big deal." Misty said in surprise.

"Indeed, however this isn't a licensed gym." Harry nodded at Ash's words. "Let's see what he has to offer."

"So you're my next victim?" A voice came from the side of the fence and everyone turned to see who it was. They ended up seeing a boy about Ash and Harry's age, with a red and black shirt and the most horrible hairstyle Harry had ever seen.

"You must be the one in charge of this place?" Ash questioned.

"That's my job, but beating up muggles like you is my hobby." He said with an arrogant air that made a vein pop out on Ash's forehead. "Are you ready to lose?"

Then the gates opened and they were able to enter the enclosure, it was possible to see a battlefield with a huge tent behind it, Harry didn't think it was a big deal, but if the boy built the place by himself he could congratulate him on his effort.

"Let's get on with this battle." Ash didn't look very happy as he went directly to one side of the battlefield.

"You may think you're a big deal kid, but after I win 100 matches I'll start competing for badges!"

"Which means he'll want to win no matter what." Brock commented. "After all, there are only two victories left.

" Misty added.

"Too bad they won't be victories against us." Harry finished without any nervousness, he was going to massacre this arrogant clown, especially with the Pokémon he was going to use.

"Then let's begin! Sandshrew, go!" AJ throws the Poké Ball from which a Sandshrew comes out.

"Pidgeotto, I choose you!" Ash throws his own Poké Ball.

The battle itself was interesting for Harry, AJ clearly had a lot of experience in battle, after all, 98 consecutive victories was no joke, but Ash was managing to keep up, especially since Harry didn't give Ash any slack during training, Ash wants to be a Pokémon Master, well, so Harry would make him a Pokémon Master. In the end, Sandshrew ended up winning, much to Ash's sadness.

"Don't worry Ash, I'll win the next one for you." Harry smiled at Ash as he placed his hand on his cheek and caressed it, leaving the boy with a red face but a silly smile.

"So you're next?" AJ asked and then looked Harry up and down and back up. "Well, after I win how about we go on a date?" He smiled at Harry and Harry could only stare emotionlessly back.

"What?!?" Ash yelled behind him.

"Alright, if, and I mean if you win, I'll go on a date with you." Harry smiled slyly, making Ash shiver a little, that smile having strange effects on his teenage body. "Not that you can beat me in a million years but let's see, maybe some deserving entity will intercede for you, but before that." Harry looked seriously at Sylveon and pointed to a tree. "Moonblast!"

Sylveon fired at the tree causing an explosion and sending Team Rocket who were hiding away.

"How did you know they were there?" Ash asked.

"Trade secret, I'll tell you later, anyway let's get to this battle." He says turning to AJ and taking his place on his side of the field.

"Alright, let's go Sandshrew!" He sends out the armadillo Pokémon again.

"Well now how about one of mine?" Harry returns with the mischievous smile at 200% "On stage!"

From the Poké Ball comes out a Pokémon that looks like a blue bird with its wings like fluffy white clouds. Ash immediately pulls out his Pokedex.

"Altaria, the Humming Pokémon, a Dragon/Flying type. Altaria dances and spins through the sky among cotton-like clouds. When singing songs with its crystal-clear voice, this Pokémon makes its listeners feel like they're in a dream."

"What a beautiful Pokémon!" Misty exclaims with stars in her eyes.

"And very well trained if the strong muscles say anything." Brock watches as the Pokémon takes flight and floats over the field.

"I'm no longer surprised that all of his Pokémon look like they can take on an army by themselves." Ash grumbled with a smile.

The battle that followed was exactly as Ash imagined it would be, a single attack from Dragon Claw and Sandshrew was out, thus giving Harry the victory and a tearful AJ his first defeat after 99 victories.

"Damn! I lost my streak and didn't get my date!" AJ whined and then turned to Harry. "Unless you're up for that date." He smiled at Harry but before Harry could cut his dreams short Ash did it for him.

"No way!" Ash exclaimed as he pulled Harry towards him and held the red-haired boy in his arms. "Stay away!"

"How many people do you think it will take for Harry to make a move?" Misty asked Brock. "Honestly we spent almost a week traveling through the Viridian forest and Harry made it pretty clear he was interested."

"Four maybe." Brock said with an amused smile. "Three if Harry shows interest in someone."

In the end they ended up seeing AJ's training methods, none of which Harry particularly approved of, after a short meeting they left for the next town.
