Childhood memories (Part 2)
"Gi...ble" the little Pokémon said, looking at Harry in awe.
"Wow..." Harry looked back at him with the same admiration, after all this little Pokémon formed a powerful bond with his magic, a bond he had never felt before, not even when his magic was tied to the goblet of fire.
During the rest of that day, Harry, his father, as well as Professor Sycamore and his assistants realized that the little baby dragon was not going to leave Harry's side at all, so with very little reluctance they let Harry keep the young dragon, After all, when a Pokémon grows up with its trainer, their bond becomes unique. At the end of the day his father gave him a Pokéball, which was soon used to capture the little Pokémon, as well as a gift, Sycamore gave him a Pokedex which was quickly used to evaluate his first Pokémon.
"Gible, the Ground Shark Pokémon, of the type Dragon/Ground, makes its nest in horizontal holes in cave walls heated by geothermal heat. Enemies that get too close can expect to be attacked and bitten." The Pokedex reported the Gible entry. "This Gible has the Hidden Ability: Rough Skin and knows the moves: Sand Tomb, Tackle. It also has the Egg Moves: Metal Claw and Double-Edge"
"Well, that's an exemplary Gible you got dear." Lance said with a satisfied smile as he stroked his son's hair.
"What is a hidden ability daddy? And what is Roughskin?" Harry asked, snapping out of the trance he was in.
"Hidden Ability is what we call an Ability of a given Pokémon that differs from its Ability that is commonly found, for example, Gible and its evolutionary line generally have the Ability Sand Veil, which means that during a Sandstorm it dodge attacks more easily, however, answering your second question at the same time, the Hidden Ability Rough Skin, means that all Pokémon that attack Gible or its evolutions physically end up taking damage." Lance at this moment was showing off his Dragon Master side with pride, especially because his son looked at him with unveiled admiration.
"Wow... But why are his scales soft then?" Harry questioned as he petted Gible's head that he was more than happy to accept his caresses and treats in the form of snacks.
"That I can answer." He spoke Sycamore as he entered the room. "His Ability is only activated when Gible enters battle, but it will take a few months, a few weeks just for him to try to use his movements." The Professor said as he looked in amusement at the baby pokemon that demanded the attention that was diverted from its trainer. "But, more importantly, I happen to have another Pokémon egg here that was left very recently, due to the special circumstances of this egg's parents, it will take many months, maybe even a year for it to hatch, I would like to know if Would you like to take him?”
"Daddy, can we? Please?" In his last life Harry never had the opportunity to use this technique, but now, with a father who loves and spoils him, he immediately looked back at his father and used Puppy Eyes at full power, but then he noticed a movement. Quick of his magic to his eyes, confused, but still he continued what he was doing, without him knowing he channeled energy into his eyes and used the Fairy-Type move: Baby-Doll Eyes.
"Ghg!" Lance stepped back not expecting the adorable eyes looking back at him and immediately sighed in defeat. "It's okay, you can take it"
"Yes!" Harry jumped up and hugged his father's neck excitedly, not that Lance was complaining, considering the happy smile on his father's face.
"Super effective move." One of the assistants said to his colleague.
"In fact." Her friend replied, giggling.
