“Don’t they scare you?”
He was young, maybe just older than five when he went to his brother with his worry of the family’s horses. Back before his brother even knew that he had a brother... only a sister.
Sirius had consoled him, always one to find a way to make him laugh. If only it could’ve stayed that way…

The sound of his mother’s voice was a constant in the back of his mind any time he saw a horse.
“Sit up straighter!”
“More leg!”
“******! What is wrong with you? Do it again, just do it right this time,”
