“You promised!”
“Granger—”
She could see the argument forming on his lips. Reaching out, she grabbed his hand and pressed it to her chest. “My heart won’t stop racing.”
He closed his eyes for a moment. “I know, but it isn’t real—”
Tears formed in her eyes. “Don’t say that,” she said. “Don’t you dare ever say that.”
“Granger—”
“It can’t be over, Draco,” she said. “It can’t!”
“It’s not over,” he snapped. “The sequel will be out in one year—”
“I can’t wait that long!” she cried. “What’s the point in owning the publishing company if you can’t give me the book in advance?”
He rolled his eyes. “My editors don’t even have it yet!”
“Hire me as an editor!”
He rolled his eyes. “You already have a job.”
“I took twelve classes at once! I can do—”
He started walking away. “You can be my date to the midnight release,” he said. “I’m going to the Longbottom’s.”
“You’re leaving me?!” she demanded. “After this betrayal?”
