Chapter 2

Harry remained blissfully unaware of the increasing number of students and loud goodbyes shouted across the platform, as he lay in his unconscious state.

His body curled tight in a corner of the compartment, hidden from the view of passing students down the aisle between the doors.

Suddenly the noise increased and the door to the compartment opened dramatically. Something being said about the outfits from the previous summer ball.

Noises of agreements started before cutting off sharply, loud gasps and exclamations of astonishment fillen the compartment. Murmurs broke out in hushed whispers as several of the new arrivals crouched down next to Harry. His face covered by his knees in a fetal position, as if cowering in his slumber.

Gently shaking him, a girl realized he was covered in blood. Next came screams of “Wake him up!” and
“He could be dead!” Which stirred Harry into partial consciousness, his eyes opening glazed over with a dazed expression upon his face. Yet again thra set off more gasps as the arrivals realized just who the injured boy was. After suspecting he was a 1st year, due to his size.

“Potter, Harry? Can you hear me?” After a breath of silence.

“Harry it's ok we have you” the unknown saviors said as they held him in their arms.

Quickly realizing they need to do something to help, the other 4 in the compartment banded together, suggesting ideas and who to go to for help. Full-well knowing that they cannot handle this by themselves.

“Blaise can you find me a prefect, we need medical help and maybe they could find a professor, do the professors ride the train?” Asked Pansy, her gaze shifting to the bleary eyes of Harry Potter. Her face pulled into a concerned frown.

Pansy Parkinson, always has and always will be known as the mother hen of their group.

“But wouldn't he have gone to find them when he was injured and arrived?” Daphne Greengrass questioned achieving a soft humming noise of agreement from Theo, where he hovered over Draco and Harry, a cloth in hand and gently wiping the smeared blood from his face.

“It's still better to find a responsible older year or professor, we only know the basics of healing.” This sparked Blaise to hurry out into the aisle of the train in search of a professor, any professor.

Draco pulled Harry upright to his chest, keeping his grip loose and gently running his fingers through his hair.

Every now and then he would ask Harry basic questions like what is his name and what is the date, he always got an answer but not necessarily correct. The concern was permanently etched into all their faces.

Alarm and panic ripped through them and Harry suddenly became unresponsive and vacant, chewing on his lip and his hand pulling on his bloody sleeve. His eyes were fixed forward, occasionally twitching from left to right.

It was Daphne who calmed first, recalling to the others that she had seen this before with Harry during class, that he never even noticed it happened. If anything, that made Draco panic more, that no-one had noticed at all, that bo-one had helped.

Only around 16 seconds later (not that Theo was counting) Harry came back around as if no time had passed, whimpering in pain. Draco tried to sooth him, whispering sweet nothings in his ear and rubbing down his arms in a calming manner.

That caused Harry to reach out away from the touch, yelping and whining even more.

Pansy was getting agitated, “What is taking blaise so long? It's an emergency!”

As if he had been summoned, Blaise tumbled round the corner and grasped the latch to open the door as a cloak of darkness entered the compartment. Confusion evident when he saw the injured child.

“What happened?” Snape asked as he surveyed Harry’s visible injuries quickly.

“We don't know, we found him like this.”

“He needs to get to the medical wing now.” Snape spoke quickly, seeing the blood slowly seeping out onto the floor.

“We are still 3 hours away though Professor!”

“I will do what i can until then” and he got to work, laying Harry flat down on the compartment floor, whispering hushed sorrys as a pain from the movement made him cry out. Assessing the most important injuries to treat, he cut away Harry’s shirt with his wand.

An intake of breath sprung around the compartment. The bresh blood oozed out of the cuts and whip marks. Surrounded by the blooming bruises andvisable breaks in the ribs.

Snape murmured an “oh merlin…” under his breath. Tears springing to his eyes, watching how he failed the boy he vowed to protect with his life. Composing himself, Severus closed the wounds leaking the most blood. He couldn't do much in terms of magical healing because it would rely on Harry’s energy and magical core to repair most of the damage due to how deep it cuts. Acknowledging that he would have permanent scars in the future.

Without warning, Harry’s body was pulled taut, his feet pushed out and neck tipped back at an uncomfortable angle. Arms stiff by his side.

A moment passed where no one dared breath, the children only 13, or 14 in some cases, completely clueless as to what was happening.

Severus, cursing loudly, managed to roll Harry on his side before he started convulsing. His arms repeatedly hitting the floor and jostling his remaining unhealed wounds in his arms that were slowly leaking more blood as the shaking increased. His head banged rhythmically against the hard flooring before Severus started barking orders at the bystanders.

Instructing Blaise to place something soft under his head to reduce the damage that would be caused. Tears falling quickly down Daphne and Pansy’s faces as Theo quietly mumbled hos counting, just loud enough so that Severus could hear. He had a vague idea of what to do.

The convulsions lasted around 3 minutes 37 seconds according to Theo, not a dangerous time but considering his injuries, could be a sign of a severe head injury.
