James
James shut the door behind him and dropped his suitcase on the floor. He’d deal with it later, he had more important things to worry about. He’d spent the last two weeks visiting his parents and from the moment he got on his flight home, he’d been counting the minutes till he got to see Regulus again.
Originally, Regulus was going to meet him at the airport since he was scheduled to land at five in the morning, but naturally that didn’t happen. Storms, technical issues, and a bunch of delays later, he landed at midday and had to get a cab home, but that wasn’t important anymore. He was here now, and the Regulus countdown had finally reached zero.
James made a beeline for the living area, where Regulus had mentioned he was going to stay up waiting in his last message. Not that he seemed to have succeeded in that endeavour. As James walked in, he grinned. The curtains were all closed but Regulus had remembered to leave a few lamps on so he wouldn’t have to stumble around in the dark. Though that wasn’t why he was grinning. James was grinning because curled up on their lounge, with a book forgotten on the floor, was Regulus. Asleep.
Had it not been two weeks and seven dreadful unplanned hours since he’d seen him, he probably would have let him to rest. But it had been two weeks and seven dreadful unplanned hours, so he didn’t.
As quietly as the squeaky floorboards would allow, James crept up to Regulus and crouched down in front of him. He placed one his shoulder and gave him a gentle shake.
“What happened to waiting up for me?”
Regulus’ eyes fluttered open and when he registered that it was James with him, he smiled sleepily and took a deep breath in. “You smell nice,” he murmured.
James chuckled, “Is that all you have to say to me?”
“Yep,” Regulus smirked and held out his arms. “Now help me up.”
James rolled his eyes but help drag Regulus to his feet, then slipped his hands around his waist. “Happy now?”
Regulus smiled up at him, “Hmm… I guess I might have missed you.”
“Might have? Should I put you back down and get a hotel?”
Regulus raised an eyebrow and slipped his own hands around James. “What makes you think I’d let you leave?” His hands tightened and James felt his fingers digging into him, pushing upwards, trying to lift him. But James didn’t move, and Regulus’ face screwed up in confusion. Followed by James’.
“What’s wrong?”
Regulus didn’t answer, loosening his grip and then tightening it again. The upward pressure returned, and this time James did move. About an inch off the ground, before Regulus dropped him with an exasperated sigh.
James took a step back as Regulus frowned and looked him up and down.
I didn’t eat that much, did I?
“Everything alright?”
He still didn’t answer, continuing to look him up and down and James shifted nervously. Was he hungry? Tired? Playing a joke? Sick? Just not focusing?
“Reg?”
Regulus stopped moving, his gaze landing on James’ wrist. He sniffed the air and his eyes narrowed.
“Is that a new watch?”
James looked down.
“Oh yeh,” he picked up his hand and smiled, looking at the clockface, fiddling with the metal band. “My old one broke so mum gave me grandpas old one.” He glanced up at Regulus and the smile dropped away. “Is something wrong with it?”
Regulus crossed his arms and glared at the watch, “Is it made of silver?”
Fuck…
James jumped back from Regulus, bringing his wrist to his chest, and holding his other hand over it, like it was about to explode. He hadn’t even thought about that. He’d just put it on without even asking what kind of metal it was made of. Wait, would this kill him? He knew silver was bad for him, but he’d never gone into specifics. Shit. Was this like poison? Was it permanent? Was there a cure? Had he-
Regulus laughed.
“Relax, your hearts beating like you just ran a marathon.”
“But it’s made of-”
“Silver, yes I noticed.”
“Then why aren’t you freaking out?”
Regulus rolled his eyes, “Silver won’t kill me, just makes me really weak. I appreciate your concern, but I’m fine.”
“Oh, thank fucking god,” James let out a loud sigh of relief and dropped his hand from his chest. He hadn’t killed his boyfriend. Sirius wasn’t going to kill him. Regulus was fine. His watch was just weakening him. Not killing him. “You scared the living shit out of me, Reg.”
“Yes, I can hear that,” he chuckled without removing his eyes from the watch. “Feel like taking it off so we can get back to what we were doing?”
“Oh shit, yes of course.”
James flipped his wrist over and went to start unlatching it, but then he stopped. If it wasn’t hurting him… just making his weaker… He looked up.
“Does it make you sick? Like poison or something?”
“No, just weakens us a bit. Why?”
An evil grin worked its way onto James’ face, and Regulus’ brow knitted together.
“Don’t even think about it.”
“Think about what?” James said, holding up his hands in surrender and taking a step forward.
Regulus grit his teeth. “James.”
“Regulus.”
James stepped forward again, buzzing with excitement and grinning like a maniac. He was about to give Regulus a taste of his own medicine and he was really going to enjoy it.
“Take it off.”
“What? My shirt? I can do that.”
James wiggled his eyebrows and lifted the hem of his shirt, smirking as Regulus glared at him.
“You know what I meant.”
Oh, I know what you meant.
He gave his wrist a little shake and stepped closer again. Regulus shuffled backwards and James almost lost it laughing right there. “What’s wrong? It’s not like you to run away.”
Regulus balled his fists and backed up even further, but his legs the edge of the lounge and he stopped.
James’ entire face lit up.
This is too good.
Regulus looked less impressed.
“You’re enjoying this way too much.”
“I think I am enjoying this the perfect amount.”
James was barely a meter away, easily within touching distance, and Regulus swallowed. James took one more step-
“Oi!” He laughed as Regulus tried to dart around him and failed massively. He barely made it anywhere before James caught his wrist. He fought against it, trying to pulling himself free, but for the first time ever, Regulus could not get out of James’ grasp.
“James. Get rid of it.”
James laughed and yanked Regulus closer, pulling him into a tight bear hug.
“What’s wrong Reg? It’s not like you to be so submissive.”
This is too good. I am never getting rid of this thing.
Regulus tried to wriggle free, which only made James’ laugh even harder, as he failed tragically.
“James! This isn’t fair!”
“Oh really?” James loosened his hold and slid his hand down Regulus’ torso, grabbing him by the waist. He grinned as Regulus glared up at him, his face bright red. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“James.”
“Regulus.”
Regulus pushed again, screwing his face up as he pushed against James’ grasp. But once again, he couldn’t compete, and James couldn’t help but laugh.
“What? You don’t like getting a taste of your own medicine?”
Regulus spun, trying to switch their positions, but for once, James was stronger, and had more practice. Regulus was used to just relying on sheer strength. He stood no chance. James let them spin, but didn’t let them stop when roles were reversed and continued spinning them until Regulus was pushed right up against the edge of the lounge.
“This is cheating.”
James laughed. Loudly. Again. And he picked Regulus up and laid him down on the lounge, holding him down by the shoulders as he sat across his thighs. Regulus tried to push back, fighting James to sit up, but James wouldn’t budge. Regulus couldn’t move. He was stuck.
“I hate you,” he muttered, his face redder than James had ever seen it before.
“No, you don’t.”
James smirked as he slid his hands down to Regulus’ waist, gripping it firmly. Regulus grabbed his wrists and strained to try lift them off himself. He couldn’t. It was hilarious. They had been together for eighteen months. Living in their own apartment for the last six, and he had never had this much of an upper hand.
“You know…” James chuckled and twisted his arms. Regulus’ hands slipped and before he could figure out what was happening, James had his hands on Regulus’ wrists, pinning them down by his head. “If you say please… I might think about taking it off…”
Regulus glared, and James could still feel him fighting. And losing.
“Silent treatment, huh? So that please isn’t coming?”
“Not. A. Chance.”
“Why not?” He leaned in, putting their faces inches apart. “You having fun?”
Regulus swallowed, his eyes darting down to James’ lips and for a second, the pressure against James’ hands lessened, like Regulus was losing focus. James smirked.
“You are so enjoying this.”
Regulus bit his lip, clearly trying to stop the corners of his mouth curling up. It was quite a cute sight, and certainly not one that James had ever dreamed of seeing from this angle. He needed to make the most of it.
He dipped his head, pressing their foreheads together, Regulus’ cold breath cooling his lips. He stared into the grey of his eyes, looking for approval. It came in the form of the grey eyes closing and his mouth being met with another. James closed his eyes too, and kiss Regulus back.
It was different. Usually Regulus led, but this time, he seemed all for letting James take the lead. So, he did.
It was good. Really good. Feeling Regulus under his body, holding him down and kissing him senseless. It was a shame he had to come up for breaths. At least Regulus didn’t. He could go forever, and James was happy to push his own limits.
When he started working his way across Regulus’ face, and kissing down his throat, Regulus leaned his head back and gasped. James grinned as he sucked at the skin of his neck.
“Come on James…” he whined. “That’s my job…”
“Say please.”
Regulus groaned, “You’re unbelievable.”
“And you,” he pulled back and looked him in the eyes. “Are at my mercy.”
A tiny, very small, little smile threatened to break onto Regulus’ face. James slid his hands down Regulus’ arms, keeping their eyes locked, until he reached his shoulders and cupped his cheeks in his palms.
“So, is that a please?”
Regulus closed his eyes and mumbled something.
“Sorry? What was that?”
There was another little mumble that vaguely resembled please.
“You’ll have to speak up Reg or I might change the deal to begging.”
This got Regulus’ attention. His eyes shot open and he took a deep breath and in the most pained and bitter sounding voice he had ever heard said…
“Please.”
Hmm…
James tilted his head and smirked.
“Please what?”
“You may want to keep that watch on forever.”
“That doesn’t sound like a please.”
Regulus groaned.
“Fine.” He screwed up his face and in the same, very unhappy sounding voice. “Please can you let me bite you. Happy now?”
Very.
James released him and sat back on his knees. Regulus, probably waiting for James to double cross him, sat up carefully, which was just about the funniest thing James had ever seen. He slid his knees beneath himself and match the way James was sitting, hesitating. Which again. Incredible feeling.
Regulus swallowed, his eyes fixed on his neck and he shuffled closer. He slipped one hand up around James’ neck and into his hair, while the other snaked around his waist. It was almost strange how gentle he was being.
He tried to pull James down, but James resisted, tensing and holding himself upright. Chuckling the moment Regulus let out a frustrated groan.
“Come onnnn. I did what you said. It’s been two weeks since I had something fresh.”
“Aww, poor babyyy,” James mocked, grinning as Regulus glared at him, his pulling harder, fighting a losing battle.
“Alright…” James sighed and grabbed Regulus by the waist. He picked him up and flopped onto his back, Regulus landing on top of him. “Go for it.”
Regulus didn’t hesitate this time. He planted one hand on James’ bicep and the other around the back of James’ head. He dipped down and teeth brushed against James’ throat.
Regulus went for it.
James gasped.
His fingers curled around Regulus, gripping his back as Regulus gripped his hair. He had to force himself to not pull Regulus down into himself with the strength he normally would. It was a strange feeling, though not an unpleasant one.
“Thank you...” Regulus murmured as he drank, and James melted into him.
He could hear him gulping down his blood. He could feel small drops escaping and trickling down his neck. James had no idea how this was for Regulus, but god it was good for him. He so close with him, so in sync, like the line where James ended and Regulus began was gone. It sort of was.
“You taste so good… so much better than the other stuff…”
James’ face burned. He loved hearing that. Loved hearing that Regulus thought he was the best. That his blood tasted the best. It was like he was winning some sort of competition. Technically he was.
“I love you…” James whispered, closing his eyes and enjoying the high of Regulus feeding from him.
It ended too soon. It always did.
Regulus sat up and stared down at James a little smile dancing across his face. His lips were stained red, and his eyes were the same colour, surrounded by dark shadows. It was hauntingly beautiful. James shivered and sat up too.
Regulus leaned down and their lips crashed together again. The bloody, metallic taste of his own blood entered James’ mouth. It spurred him on. He wrapped Regulus up in his arms and stood up, lifting him as legs wrapped around his waist.
James spun around and dropped Regulus on the lounge without breaking the kiss. He started working his way down Regulus neck. Tasting his cold skin and letting his fingers tug at his waistband.
“My turn…” he whispered and went lower.
