Dazai's super secret plan
Hermione had prided herself in her small group of friends otherwise known as Dazai’s gang, ‘Hell’s Hounds.’ Sure, most of it are the Weasleys, but still. They’re her friends. They actually like her. Unlike the Gryffindor she knows (again, excluding the Weasleys). She knows the other Gryffindor girls in her year as ‘those girls’. She’s not going to elaborate. Not in a million years. She feels like that was a really good idea because now that they’re gossiping about Dazai.
Yet, the other day in Transfiguration, they weren’t talking at all about Dazai. They were talking about the boy who they’d think would be part of the Triwizard tournament this year. Cedric Diggory. They were really head-over-heels for him. Even the ones who had boyfriends! (Which was all of them aside from Lavender Brown and another one she didn’t care to remember the name of.)
Like it matters that some Hufflepuff (a sixth year who played seeker for the quidditch team he’s the captain of) would be trying to stand for Hogwarts in the Triwizard Tournament, even though pure blood and half-blood wizards (like the rest of the gang aside from Dazai) thought it was the biggest thing ever. Yeah, she wasn’t going to get involved in that further than telling Dazai about it. As he read that letter, his eyes narrowed and unnarrowed. She became a little nervous. Perhaps that day wasn’t the right day.
She approached him the next day during lunch (She had ditched Ron to talk to Dazai.) She found some excuse before bringing up the gossiping trail. He paid a lot of attention to the whole thing past her being upset that he wasn’t doing his assignments.
“...Yeah, and umm. One more thing.”
“Yes, Hermione?”
“The girls in Gryffindor think that Cedric Diggory will be the Hogwarts representative for the Triwizard tournament. I just wanted to add that a lot of people are putting his name in the cup. Just so you knew.”
“Hmm... Well, he won’t be if I have anything to say about it.”
“What are you going to do?”
“I’m going to rig it of course! Would you like to hear my secret plan?”
That’s how she found out about Dazai’s secret plan to rig the Triwizard tournament.
