Liliac Clearwater was running.
She was always running...
She was always late.

She had a job interview with Ollivander.
As his apprentice.
And she swore she woke up early but somehow time had flown by, without her noticing.
She just had to turn on the next block and she'd had arrived.
She checked her watch.
4 minutes left, and she had made it.

Just as she was about to turn the corner a little kid came running from the opposite side.

You know the awful moment when you send an owl and the owls already flying away but you want your letter back, but it's already gone so you just have to crumblingly except that the letter is sent and there is nothing you can do?

Liliac was in the position.
She knew she was going to bump into the kid.
She was running too fast, the child was running too fast.
There was nothing she could do.

'Shit shit shit shit. Thats a little kid. My huge mass of blundering adult is going to crash and then kill him.'

Without thinking, Liliac , just before crashing with the little kid,
jumped
soared over the little kid..
And then collapsed just behind him
Straight onto the pavement of diagon alley.

She survived.

'Thats a bloody miracle in more than one way.'

She stood up and hurridly checked her watch.
Okay two minutes left.

"Are you alright miss?"
She whirled around to see an adorable boy looking at her, worry clear in his eyes.
She quickly glanced at the child.
Thankfully he looked okay.

She smiled,
"Im alright and Im sorry I almost bumped into you. Are you alright?"
The kid nodded.
"But miss your hea.."

"SCORPIUS LUCIUS MALFOY!!"

The kids (scorpius was it? Quite an odd name.) father was running towards them.

"Dad! The lady!"
Liliac felt sweat drip down her head and wiped it.
The child's father was one good-looking man,
Sweet Circe, the mans wife was one lucky woman.
"Scorpius, what did I tell you about running?!
And miss, I apologize for my son."
He stopped and with a shocked expression reached for his pockets.
"Here, again, I apologize. Let me help you head to St mungos."
She waved her hand. And again wiped her sweaty forehead, it was hot today.
"No need. Im fine. Really come to think of it I could have easily cast a shield charm for..Scorpius?"
The little ki, Scorpius looked up at her.
"Miss you're bleeding."

She laughed.
"No Im no.."
As she turned to the nearby shop window she gasped.
The right side of her forehead must have been scratched by a nearby rock.
It was bloody bloody.

"Shit, Shit."
She hurridly started wiping it away with her sleeves.
A hankerchief appeared in front of her.
"Miss, please let us escort you.."
She hurridly swiped it from his hands to take care of the mess.
The man sighed loudly.
"Miss, really.. "
Lilian checked her watch.
She had a minute left.

"Merlin Im late!"
She was about to thrust the hankerchief back in his hands before seeing the expensieve silk all blotchy red.
Quickly casting a cleaning charm she handed it back
"Mi.?"
"I'm fine. Really. Have a nice day!!"

She leaped away and ran towards her interview.
Xoxoxoxo

Draco Malfoy watched the woman run away like her hair was on fire.
He frowned.
After the war his families reputation was in shatters.
It had taken years for the Malfoy name to mean something else then deatheater.
He had accepted that however hard he tried there would be a certain way others would see him, and in extension, Scorpious.
The woman however, had hardly seemed scared nor wary of him.

A tug on his robes pulled him out of his thoughts.
Scorpius.
"Dad, do you think she'll be okay?"
He sighed and ran his fingers roughly through his hair.
"I dont know, Scorp."
"Why did she refuse our help?"
Draco was wondering the same thing.
At first he thought it was because of who he was.
But considering their other interactions it seemed hardly it.
"Perhaps she was busy."
Scorpius nods slowly, and Draco picks up his wand from the ground.

Xoxoxo
Liliac grinned.
Apparently after what happened with he who must not be named, wandlore wasnt a popular choice.

She had gotten the job.

"Liliac, are you sure you dont need to go to St.Mungos?"
Olivander gestured towards her head.
She smiled and shrugged.
"Really, its fine. My body is just being dramatic."
'Also, when one practically lived in the hospital when they were young, they grow up to quite hate it.
Too many negative memories outweigh the positive ones.'

Liliac was shelving wands when she heard the door open.

"Hello, Ollivanders at your service!"
She heard Ollivander huff out a laugh at her greeting, from his workplace in the back and grinned.
That old man sure had a lively soul.

She looked up from her desk, to see the man from before.
"Wow, small world! How can I help you sir?"

Liliac had looked back on their previous encounter (one reflects quite a lot when dusting wand shelves) and wanted to dig a hole and drown in it by crying.
She had looked like a blundering mess, which in a way she was, but no stranger needed to know that.
She was determined to look as official and grown up as possible.

The man cleared his throat.
"I was about to ask Olivander to identify this wand, but fortunately theres no need."
He pulled out his wand,
"We must have switched wands."

Liliac grabbed for the wand she was using, and indeed it wasnt hers. It was quite similar to hers, which was probably why she hadnt noticed at all.

"Rowena, our wands are quite similar arent they?"
She handed him his wand, and he did too, in return.
"You know theres a myth that people with similar wands are soulmates."
She said in a joking manner.
She had expected the man to laugh if he found her funny or at least frown if rude, but all the man did was look blankly at her before nodding.

"I see."

The man was incredibly difficult to talk to.
Having nothing ekse to say she put on her polite grin.
"Well, thank you for returning my wand. Hope you..."
"Miss! May I see your wand?"
Liliac looked down the counter, suprised to see Scorpius.
She had thought the man had come alone.
Liliac glanced at the man in question.
He merely nodded and gestured that it was up to her.
"Sure, If you'd like."

Liliac jumped down the hovering chair.
She handed Scorpius her wand.
"Dad yours too."
Scorpius shoved his hand, palm up towards his father.
The man huffed softly before handing Scorpius his wand.
Out of habit Liliac almost coughed out a please but held it in.
(Staying with her cousins kids did that to a person.)

"Youre right, it is simillar."
Quickly glancing in the dads direction once more and getting a nod, Liliac squatted in front of Scorpius.
"Both of our wands are hawthorn wood and has a simple design."
"And the handles too miss."
Liliac grinned.
"Yes you're right. Our wands have handles. And call me Lily Scorpius."
Scorpius tilted his head.
"Is your name Lily?"
She shrugged.
"Its actually Liliac but only few call me that."
Scorpius smiled before handing back her wand.
"I cant wait till I get to go to Hogwarts, and get my wand!"
Scorpius blushed slightly.
"Can you make a wand for me when I turn 11?"
Liliac smiled, the boy was adorable.
"The wand chooses the wizard, Scorpius. And besides I dont think you'll want to use mine. Im still an amateur at this wand business."
Scorpius frowned.
"That doesnt matter, I want to use yours."
Liliac smiled softly.
"Youre very sweet Scorpius. Then how about this?
I promise, the minute you walk in I'll shower you with all my best works before trying anything else."
Scorpius solemnly nodded.
"Deal..And Lily when did you go to Hogwarts?"
Liliac slightly grimanced.
"I didnt go to Hogwarts. I was tutored at home."
"Why?"
"I was a bit weak when I was young. I needed constant care."
Scorpius eyebrows furrowed.
"You should have eaten vegetables. Dad says thats how I stay healthy."
Liliac grinned.
"Yes, I should have eaten my broccolis."
Scorpius nodded in a serious manner.
"Yes, but are you okay now?"
She smirked before raising her sleeves to show Scorpius her (admittedly pathetic) arm muscles while striking the body builder pose.
"I'm more than okay. Im powerful."

She had expected the squeal of laughter from Scorpius, but she was surprised to hear a breath of laughter from the adult.
