Remus woke up alone in the shack. He had a terrible feeling rush over him. His eyes was full of tears. Something happened. Something bad. He didn't know what yet but he knew something. He looked around to see if Padfoot had stayed like he used to since James and Peter went back to the Castle to not cause suspension. He didn't want to go back yet and wanted to be alone. Then he heard a knock on the door.
"Leave me alone. I don't want anyone here." Remus lied, there was one person hee would have there right now.
"I have chocolate." He heard a voice say. It was James. James was safe enough.
"You can come in."
James carefully walked in holding a bar of chocolate. Remus recognised it immediately as it was the one chocolate that Sirius liked. Remus and James sat there sharing the bar.
"Where is everyone?" Remus asked James.
"Umm." James thought back. "Pads and Wormtail decided to go back a bit a go to get some rest."
Remus was not convinced with the answer. James never hesitated unless he was lying to his friends. But Moony decided not to push it.
"Oh okay. Well, You should go since Poppy will be here soon to get me."
As James walked back he thought back to what actually happened earlier. Thoughts raced through is mind.
Moony attacked something, well someone
He remembers thinking "GO. PADFOOT LEAVE!" Then Peter and Sirius scattered from the room and James left moments later.
James was so scared to see if Sirius was okay. He felt like something was wrong. When he got back to the Dorms he was so happy too that Sirius was okay. He sat on his bed watching scared.
He is trying to cover it up because he doesn't need Remus to feel sorry for him, especially the prank. He doesn't believe Remus has actually forgiven him and has not forgiven himself.
Peter was helping Sirius but needed to leave or he will be late for lesson. James stayed and wanted to help Sirius but Sirius kept trying to push him away,
"You need me to help?" James asked for what felt like the hundredth time but was only the first time he had actually spoke since returning.
"No. Can you please fuck off?" Sirius said as he was choking back tears so James didn't see his pain.
"Don't need to be dick." James said.
"Can you get me something for this from the hospital wing?" Sirius sighed.
James nodded before he started to leave.
"Make sure that Remus doesn't see you. I can't have him knowing."
"You know he didn't mean to do it. He--"
"I just know he will feel bad about it and I don't want him to feel bad. I deserved it. I was a prat and a horrible friend. I don't deserve his forgiveness."
"You were stupid but you two are best friends. Remember we made a pact."
"I broke it first."
James gave a weak small smile. He walked out.
As James was walking down the stairs he bumped in to Remus.
"I wouldn't go in there. Sirius is in there." James said.
"Is he alone?" Remus asked.
"Yes." James said with confusion.
"Good. I can finally talk to him without him running off."
"Okay. Have fun. I need to do something." James said as he hurried off.
He is trying to bandage himself up when Remus entered the dorms ready to confront Sirius. They lock eyes Remus looked determined till he noticed that Sirius was holding his side. His eyes fell to confusion. Remus instantly knew something was wrong when he saw Sirius's eyes.
"Why are you holding your side?" Remus asked with tiredness in his voice.
"It is nothing." Sirius said as he started to walk to the bathroom. "James is helping me."
Remus managed to beat him to the door and stood in front of it with one foot on the door so Sirius couldn't push past him. Remus looked down at Sirius who was 5 foot 8 compared to Remus who was 6 foot 3. Sirius wouldn't let go of his side scared of Remus's reaction to what he was hiding.
"Sirius. What is it?"
"It doesn't matter because it is nothing. You shouldn't care anyways." Sirius responded slowly looking up with tears in his eyes, "You don't have to pretend to care. We both know you shouldn't after what I did to you. Please" He choked, "Let me past." Sirius was giving puppy eyes.
"I. Do. Care. You are my friend." Remus meant what he was saying. He hated being mad at Sirius.
"It is fine. Just let me past."
"Sirius." Remus said in a stern voice.
"Remus." Mocking Remus
"Sirius." He said with care in his voice.
" Remus." He pleaded.
"Please let me help, Padfoot."
Remus fully knowing this made Sirius weak. He hasn't used the nickname since they stopped talking to each other before the summer break. He wanted to make sure Sirius actually listened to him.
"It really is nothing, Moony." Sirius replied as he looked away from Remus again.
Then Remus used his hand to move Sirius's face up to face him. He knew that Sirius would break if he actually looked at him again. This made Sirius freeze in the place where he is stood .
"Padfoot. Please. What is it?"
Sirius didn't answer as he was petrified by Remus's ebony eyes. Remus used this to remove Sirius' hand from his side holding it in one hand while he placed his other hand on what Sirius was hiding under his hand, he knew immediately what he was feeling. He then looked down. His worst fears had come true.
"My god. Sirius did I do this?" Remus immediately asked unknowing if he wanted to hear the answer. He was shocked.
Sirius just stared at him with puppy eyes which Remus read and walked over to his bed. He sat down on his bed and put his hands on his head trying not to cry. Sirius walked over as fast as he could trying not to wince in pain.
"This wasn't you. This isn't something you did."
"No. No. I knew this would happen eventually. I would hurt someone. I am sorry. I am so sorry. This can't be happening. My dad was right I am a monster. How could I hurt him?"
"It is not your fault, Re. It is mine. Put the blame on me. I shouldn't have even been there last night you weren't ready. I should of understood that you would still be upset after the Snape thing. You had and still have every right to be mad at me." Sirius looked at Remus. "You are not a monster at all. You are not. You never have been and never will be."
"Padfoot." Remus lifted his head up to make eye contact with Sirius. "I could never be mad at you. I do not care about the stupid prank. You didn't want to hurt me. You may of unintentionally but you are my best friend. We both know we are a lot closer than the others."
Sirius looked at Remus with hope in his eyes.
"I cannot figure you out, Lupin. How can you forgive me? What I did was horrible and I know I fucked up. You should just stop talking to me. So, now you can just leave."
"Because we are Marauders. The best of friends. Who care about each other better than anyone else. Nothing can ever stop that. Plus, I could never be mad at you."
"I know but..." He was cut off be Remus putting a hand on his cheek but Sirius still did not make eye contact.
"But nothing. You are my best friend. We can't let anything stop that."
"Yeah. Just so you are aware. Just because you can forgive me doesn't mean I can forgive me.
Remus and Sirius finally made eye contact. They both had a weird feeling in their stomach but neither of them knew what it was.
"Now will you please let me bandage you up? Or you will get infected."
"Okay." Sirius paused before saying. "Can I explain what happened before the prank? Because I need you to know a few things."
"You don't have to." Remus said as he sat next to Sirius getting the bandages ready.
" I know but I want to." Sirius replied "So I had just talked to Reg and he had told that we can no longer talk to each other anymore at school as it is ruining his reputation or some bullshit like that. Then I ran in to um. Snape and Mulciber. He was saying a few things about me and then he said something about you." Sirius took a break to look at Remus who was staring at Sirius with curiosity and worry. "He called you a few names and was slightly yelling. Which struck a nerve with me since my mother had called me a few of them and he called you, A filthy..." Sirius started to tear up.
"No. You don't need to say it. Please don't say it. It is okay. I understand."
"The next thing I know was that I woke up scared that you were hurt. I am so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I promise. I could never purposely want to hurt you. You mean too much to me." Sirius explained, "I found out when I got home that they had used some spells which my mother uses on me sometimes to get stuff out of me. Including your secret. I am so sorry, I should of been stronger."
"I forgive you." Remus said. "It wasn't your fault, Padfoot. You couldn't of known they would of done that to you, especially after what you had just been through with your brother."
"Still, I will always be sorry for it all."
"I wish you would of actually talked to me afterwards. You did it and stopped talking to me all together. I thought you hated me."
"I could never hate you, Moony."
Remus patched Sirius up carefully, when he finished he pressed a small kiss on top of the bandage stating he was done. Then Remus had a shower. He came out and put on his pyjamas pants. He saw that Sirius was still lying on his bed. He went and sat next to him.
"You are truly an amazing person." Remus said as he sat up so they were at the same height.
"So are you but you won't admit it." Sirius added. "I get to have a cool scar like yours now. We are matching. I'll nearly be as hot as you."
"You really are crazy aren't you?" Remus replied with a straight face trying to push down the heat he was feeling on his face.
They both started to laugh like they would never stop.
Suddenly when they made eye contact a feeling rushed over them. It was like they were magnets. They had an unspoken connections. Suddenly they were together, lips connecting, teeth bashing into each other as they tried to get closer to each other. Sirius crawled on top of Remus.
When he tried to take Remus' pants off Remus suddenly pulls back to signal to stop, Sirius stares at him in shock.
"We shouldn't you have a girlfriend. Plus we need sync up as best friends again before we start being friends with benefits again."
"Yeah you probably are right." Sirius said forgetting he had a 'girlfriend'. Yet he disagreed, he thought Remus was wrong and this is something he wants more than anything else.
There was an awkward pause before Remus broke it.
"How was your Holidays."
"I stayed with the Potters. What did you get up to, Moony?"
"I went to Loch Ness for a week, which was fun, Poppy took me."
"That sounds amazing. I am so happy you had a good time" Sirius said he he stared at Remus with softness.
"Thanks. Maybe next summer we could all go on a road trip in summer since it will be out last." Remus said with excitement.
"That will be amazing. We should invite the girls. Dorcas would love it. She wants to go swimming in the Loch for some reason, something about a giant snake." Sirius said with a laugh.
"Yeah." Remus looked down. "Lily is in need for it after what Snape did to he, she had a rpetty bad summer due to it."
Sirius looked sorrowful before laughing and saying,
"Plus maybe she could finally give Prongs a chance as well."
"Don't push it mate. She hates him." Remus said joining in laughter. "Plus, I think he has eyes for someone in the year below us."
"Who?" Sirius asked leaning his head on Remus.
The Prongs and Wormtail walked through the door. They were laughing to themselves before noticing Remus and Sirius were sat together. They paused and looked between each other. James was the first to speak.
"You guys are friends again? That is brilliant." James said before running up and jumping on them. "Come on wormtail!" James screamed before Peter jumped on them as well.
"Remus came up with an amazing idea!" Sirius said as they got comfortable on the bed.
"Really? What is it? Are we going to get to punch you??" James said. He was getting ready to punch Sirius. He seemed very excited to finally have this opportunity even though he has punched Sirius plenty of times before.
"No." Sirius replied with a bit of disgust. "Why did you seem so excited?" He said as he stared at James open eyed in shock.
"Is said we should go on a road trip at the next summer in Scotland before starting our final year here." Remus said as he saw James face lit up. "We also decided to invite the girls. Since Marlene and Sirius are dating. Plus I a friends with them all."
They all agreed and started to make plans. After deciding on the details they walked down to the common room to find the girls. Before going down Remus quickly put on a shirt and Sirius put on one of Remus's jumpers without Remus noticing. They had been discussing their plans for the holidays. The Mary and Lily were sat on the floor in front of the fire.
"Hello ladies." James said as he flung himself on to the couch.
Remus sat down on the armchair. He always sits on it. Sirus perched himself on the side of it with his legs sprung over Remus's lap. Remus laid his arm on Padfoots thigh. Remus had a soft smile as he looked at Sirius before looking away quickly so he didn't know he was staring at him. Then Sirius did the same thing but bit his lip as he looked away. This happened several times in the time they were sat downstairs together.
Lily and Marlene were the only two in the common room who noticed this small detail. They both let out a little giggle.
Marlene was sat with Dorcas on the Armchair with Lily sat in front of them.
Peter sat next to James on the couch.
"What do you want Potter?" Lily said.
"We had an idea. And wanted invite all of you." Peter said.
"What idea?" Mary said in a worrying matter.
"It better not be a prank." Lily spoke. Marlene looked excited at this idea.
"No but I did need to discuss something of that." Remus said. "We are going on a road trip next summer before we start out final year in Scotland. You guys want to join? We will be camping."
"YEAH!" Marlene practically screamed. "We would love to. I am answering for all of us since they all would make up excuses not to go." She said as she stared down at Lily.
They all talked for a while as they all put in ideas. After a while Remus moved at sat on the back of the arm chair so Sirius could sit on the armchair since he noticed that Sirius kept nearly falling backwards and he kept having to hold him down. He started to mess around with Sirius's curls while he kept his hand on the back of his kenck till he noticed that Sirius was wearing one his jumpers. He carefully beant down to Sirius's ear and rested his head on his shoulder still keeping his hand in Sirius' curls. He gently whispered.
"Are you wearing on of my jumpers, Padfoot?"
Sirius bent his head backwards and whispered. "Yeah. They are so comfy. You can't blame."
Remus dug his face in to Sirius's neck and let out a little laugh. This made Sirius have the biggest smile his face and have a slight blush.
All Remus could think was 'God I just want to kiss your right now' Yet he knew he couldn't since Marlene was sat there in front of him. Little did he know. Then another thought came to his mind 'I shouldn't think like this he is best friend. Why do I have these thoughts?'
All Sirius could think was 'Just kiss me. I crave it.' He had decided a long time ago that he didn't need to label his sexualty but he was still scared. He knew that Remus didn't want to be together since Remus doesn't like guys. Everything was so confusing.
They all kept talking about the different locations they should visit. Including Urquhart Castle. They all agreed it would be the best thing to ever happen to them. Unknowing them it would change everything for them.
At one point Marlene pulled Sirius to the side to talk tired of seeing both of them fawning over each other. They sat on the steps as they talked. Everyone carried on talking.
"So, you and Remus seem happy?" Marlene said with a smirk. "Almost like a couple, some would say."
"It won't work out. He doesn't like me that way anyways." Sirius said with a sad expression.
"Are you fucking blind?!" Everyone turned to look at them since Marlene practically screamed it. "Sorry everyone." They all turned back to the conversation. "He stares at you like you are the only person in the room. He doesn't care when you practically sit on him. He draws circles in your hands during lessons."
"It doesn't matter anyways. He is not gay."
"Did he say that?" Sirius nodded in response. "BULLSHIT!" Again everyone turned around except for Remus and Dorcas.
"Il suffit de laisser! (Just leave it.)" Sirius screamed back in French
"No!" Marlene replied in an Italian accent. "Egli vi ama!" (He love you!) Marlene screamed back in Italian.
"NO, il ne m'aime pas." (No he does not love me.) Sirius screamed back in a sad way, "C'est stupide. je l'aime." (It is stupid, I love him.)
"Are you guys arguing?" James asked not understanding the Italian nor the French, which caused Remus and Dorcas to look up.
"Tipo (Kind of)" Marlene responded. "You can go back to your conversation now." They all turned back to the conversation. "If you believe that then that is fine. But you can't be mad when I say I fucking told you when you two get together."
Sirius rolled his eyes before walking back to his chair. When he sat down Remus leant over again.
"Are you okay?" Remus asked gently.
"Yeah. Just a little spat. It was really fucking annoying." Sirius replied and gave a weak smile.
"Doesn't sound like you are okay." Remus replied. "Tu vas bien?" (Are you ok?)
"I'm okay now. I am sat with you." Sirius said as he winked at Remus. Remus then gave him a gentle push.
"Are you trying to seduce me?" Remus said pretending to be offended.
"Never." Sirius replied softly. "Wait. Did you just speak french?"
"Yeah. I got bored so I started to learn. I also learnt a bit of sign language."
"You are so talented, mon chiot." (my puppy) Sirius replied.
"What does that mean?" Remus asked.
"I'll tell you one day." Sirius replied leaving Remus puzzled.
Sirius looked around at all of his friends. He finally felt like he had a family who cared. He really wanted Regulus to be there with him. He always wanted to go back and get Regulus but knew he couldn't risk it. What would his parents do if ever stepped foot in his house? He knew they wanted him dead, mainly because all his posters would finally fall but also because he is a blood-traitor. He knew they would treat Regulus better not necessarily good but better. One day he wants to got back and save his baby brother from them.
They ended up all sleeping in the Common Room that night with Sirius and Remus falling asleep on the armchair like Dorcas and Marlene did on the other. Then Peter and James fell asleep on the couch. Then Mary and Lily fell asleep on the floor.
Round midnight Sirius woke up to find Remus sat at the window staring at the stars. He carefully walked over and wrapped his arms around Remus's waist from the back.
"You know if you want to stare at a star I am right here?" Sirius whispered in to his ear.
"Yeah. I could but I can see the constellation of Leo tonight. It is the lion one." Remus spoke.
"I know" Sirius answered. "That is where you can find Regulus. The heart of the lion. Truly is a beauty."
"You want to go to our room? We can talk properly there."
"Too tired." Sirius yawned.
"I'll carry you." Suddenly Remus untangled himself from Sirius and lifted him up so Sirius could wrap his legs around Remus' waist and his arms around his neck.
As they walked through the common room they hadn't noticed that James had moved from his position, he wasn't even in the common room anymore. When they got to the their room Remus put Sirius on his bed and layed down next to him.
"Remus, can I tell you something?"
"Sure."
"I want to be in a relationship with you." That woke Remus up completely and looked at Sirius shocked. "And I mean like I want to take you on dates. Get you chocolate frogs on Valentines. I want to be able to cuddle you and kiss you. And get in to arguments over the smallest thing just for me to admit I was wrong. I want it all. All of it." Sirius placed a hand on Remus' cheek. "All you need to say is you want it too and I will be all yours."
"But what about Marlene?"
"I confess my feelings and you ask about Marls?" Remus gave him a stare. "I was never in a relationship with her. Well last year but we quickly realised that is not what we want. So you have nothing to worry about."
"But what abou--" Sirius cut him off by kissing him and climbing on to his lap.
"You have nothing to worry about. No more girls at all. Just Remus. My sweet sweet Moony. Who will have to put up with all of this. So please be my boyfriend."
"Yes. I will be your boyfriend. We should probably get to sleep."
"Sure." Sirius giggled and he laid down facing Remus. "One last kiss?"
"Fine. But just one."
After a small kiss Remus leaned in to Sirius's ear to whisper, "Je t'aime aussi"
"You knew?" Sirius laughed.
"Yeah."

Meanwhile at the Astronomy Tower...
James stood staring up at the stars waiting.
"James? Is that you?"
James tuned around and saw him. Regulus. He quickly walked over and wrapped his arms around him.
"Can't believe I haven't seen you since before summer." James whispered as he clung to Regulus, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, my parents don't suspect anything, love." Regulus replied.
"Does that mean what I think it means?"
"I will no longer be returning back there after this year." Regulus explained, "Have you mentioned any of this to my brother?"
"No not yet, thought we could do that together." James explained as he placed a kiss on Regulus' head before pulling back to look in his eyes
"Yeah that will be good. Can't wait till this is all over."
"Same, my darling."
