Chapter 14
Harry moaned into the kiss. Jasper was gaining more control so they could snog more and longer before he had to stop. Jasper was holding him close and he was really enjoying himself when the door to the room burst open.
"HARRY! I FIGURED OUT WHAT WE NEED TO DO FOR THE DAYWALKER RINGS!"
Harry felt no remorse as Severus and Andromeda cleared up what he'd done to Hermione. Everyone had gathered when Hermione had screamed. They were now in the main sitting room.
Hermione was talking the moment she was healed. She was off telling them everything that she'd learned and what they needed to know.
"So these Daywalker rings are cursed to make us hate the wolves?" Esme wondered.
"Yes, I was able to find a reference to them....Kreacher!" She called. He appeared with a book. "Thank you, Kreacher." she showed them the marked page. There was a picture of the rings that they wore. "The witch who made these rings hated werewolves because one killed her husband...." and she was off again telling them all about the caster. "Anway, from what I can gather only Harry and Severus have the reserves to cast this spell."
"I figured that." Harry sighed. "Look, Hermione, I've already read all of this just tell me what I need to do..." Severus cleared his throat. "What we need to do."
"Oh, right, of course, so sorry." Hermione nodded.
She began explaining in-depth to Harry, in words that she knew he'd understand, what he needed to do. She was glad that she didn't have to explain this to Ron because she didn't have to dumb it down as much for Harry. With Ron, she had to dumb it down so much that it hurt.
"We'll have to use different rings then?" Rosalie wondered. "I mean you can't recast on the ones that we are using."
"Correct." Hermione nodded.
Rosalie, Emmett, Carlisle, and Esme handed Harry their wedding bands. Harry bit his lip and glanced at Hermione who slowly began walking him through what he needed to do again. He began doing it. She walked him through each step and it was clear that this was a normal occurrence for the two of them. When Harry was done with those four Edward handed over a ring. Harry worked on it and then snuggled in Jasper's lap while taking a ring from him and working on it. When he was done he fell asleep due to exhaustion.
"Why do you handhold Harry through learning?" Jasper demanded as he ran fingers through Harry's hair and massaged his scalp. Harry liked when he did this. "He's not stupid."
"I know he's not." Hermione huffed. "But I've always taught the boys like that. Ron is as dumb as they come and he needed the handholding and Harry has always needed a bit of extra help with learning spells. He's not stupid or anything but he has always had trouble with focusing and memorizing things. So I just help out a bit that's all."
Harry moaned into Jasper's kiss. They were snogging in the car waiting for Severus and Esme to finish getting whatever they were getting from the store. He pushed closer to Jasper and took hold of his shirt. He felt Jasper's arms wrap around him a little tighter pulling him even closer. Their bodies were pressed together.
"Break it up!" Severus' voice snapped.
They broke apart to see Esme's amused smile and Severus glaring only at Jasper in disapproval. Jasper continued to hold him close. Harry was clearly content on staying in Jasper's arms. Jasper chuckled and smiled down at Harry who seemed out of it. His face was red and his eyes were half open. He was clearly happy.
"You should be able to control yourself, you are almost 200 years old." Severus told Jasper as they began the drive home.
"I am controlling myself." Jasper informed. "Hence why we were kissing like that."
Esme laughed.
"Jasper, don't tease."
"We're not having sex." Harry mumbled. "Jasper says that he can't control himself to that degree yet."
Jasper kissed his head making Harry hum contently and snuggle closer.
Severus glanced back in the review mirror at the two of them. He was only trying to protect Harry and was glad to see that Harry was so happy.
"Hawwy!"
Harry laughed and swept Teddy into his arms spinning him around as he entered the house.
"My Teddy-Bear." Harry said hugging him and kissing him.
"Hawwy Mama." Teddy informed. He looked at Jasper. "Daddy." he said pointing at him. "Mama, Skool?"
"You're too little for school, Teddy-Bear."
"Mama, cwy?" Teddy asked trying to dry Harry's eyes.
"They are happy tears, Teddy-Bear."
"K." Teddy nodded.
Harry was happy too. He wondered why Teddy was suddenly declaring them his parents though. He looked up at Jasper to see him smiling softly at him and Teddy. Jasper pulled him to his side with his arm around his waist.
"Okay, family picture!" Alice sang. "Smile for the camera!"
Teddy grinned brightly. Harry and Jasper smiled and she took a picture.
Harry wondered if Alice was behind Teddy now seeing him and Jasper as his parents but right now he couldn't be bothered. With everyone finally moved in they were finally having their Addams Family marathon. Teddy was sitting between Jasper and Harry but moved when he realized that the popcorn bowl was bigger than him. He got onto the floor and Esme quickly set him up his own area and Winky provided an appropriate-sized popcorn bowl. Harry sent the bowl over to Severus and snuggled against Jasper. He couldn't eat all that popcorn and they hadn't figured out how to make vampire-friendly popcorn yet.
Harry had loved the Addams Family and Teddy had laughed through all of it so he'd really enjoyed it as well.
The next day at breakfast Hermione asked a question.
"Uhm....are any of you planning to go back to school?" she wondered. "I mean..."
Draco started telling Hermione all about Jessica in Forks who had driven Harry to quit school and homeschool instead.
It was clear to see that Hermione was getting angry with this Jessica person.
"Master Draco's wolf cousin is here." Kreacher informed the room.
"I told you that my name is Jacob." Jacob sighed. "Oh, great breakfast. I'm starving!"
He simply joined breakfast.
"Uh....Jacob?" Andromeda asked. "What are you doing here? Does your father know you're here?"
"Nope, he doesn't. I asked my sisters to help get a ticket here." Jacob informed. "I'll be getting a job to pay them back, of course, as for why I'm here.....getting away from expectations....getting away from memories......" he shrugged. "Ever since I shifted Dad, the council, and Sam have just been putting so much pressure on me....I know I'm only 15 but ...."
"You can stay." Harry stated instantly. "I know what it's like to have a world of expectations dropped on you at only fifteen." he shook his head.
"I'll call your father." Andromeda said.
Carlisle and Esme clearly didn't agree with taking in the runaway and wanted to send him back because they could legally get in trouble for harboring him but it was clear that the decision was made.
Hermione had questioned them on Jacob's ability to turn into a wolf then had set about using a laptop and the internet to start looking for schools for him. She was shocked that the house got internet or that her laptop actually worked in the house. She was even more curious when Harry walked away twirling his wand in his hand. Jasper followed after him like a love-sick puppy. Edward still hadn't said a word to her.
Edward was drowning in depression and didn't understand Luna and Alice's claims that Hermione was his mate. He didn't crave her the way that he had craved Bella. He didn't get hungry around her either. He could stand being around her. He'd been so sure that Bella was his mate she'd been perfect for him too. Now he was supposed to believe that this highly opinionated girl was his mate? This girl who was nothing like Bella.
"HARRY JAMES POTTER-BLACK!" his so-called mate was screaming at the top of her lungs. Was she hurt? Was she okay? He rushed to her side on a whim to see her standing with the door open. It was dark out. "HARRY!"
There were vampires and werewolves on the other side of the door. He moved in front of him instantly and she glared at him.
"I don't need you to protect me!" she snapped at him. "HARRY!"
Edward frowned. This woman could not possibly be his mate.
"Hermione, keep your voice down. You're going to wake Teddy." Harry frowned at her as he walked up with the rest of the house.
"Sorry, but we've got visitors. The Master sent some people to talk to us and the werewolf and his second are here as well. " Hermione informed. "How'd they get past the wards?"
"The wards are not at full power." Harry sighed. "We'll be doing a ritual later. You can help."
Edward could tell that Hermione was more than pleased that she would get to help in the ritual. She was always pleased when Harry included her in his magic experiments and stuff. Though she'd gotten cursed out of the kitchen when she'd tried to help with the vampire food. She was normally included but only if she controlled herself and she didn't seem to be able to do that after a certain point.
