Chapter 1
It was the start of the 4th year of Hogwarts James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew were the most popular people in the school that year, people were falling all over them trying to get dates with them.
Regulus Black was not one of those people as proven by the fact that he's been ignoring James for the past 17 minutes he's been trying to talk to him, while they wait for Remus and Sirius to get to the meeting spot where they decided on this year the group had decided to go school shopping together.
So far Regulus, James, Lily, and Peter were already there and had been for about half an hour lily and Peter had been talking about how long James would keep trying to talk to Regulus, and placing bets by the time Remus and Sirius walk in the door of the quiet cafe.
"Did you all miss the best person in the world?" regulus rolls his eyes at his brother's words getting up from his seat seeing Lily and Peter do the same he watches Lily walk over to Remus hugging him with a smile, regulus smirks as he steps to the side when his brother runs to tackle him in a hug huffing a laugh when it ends with him clinging to Potter, he turns to the side looking Remus up and down in his jeans and sweater eyeing the hickey on his neck before saying "Remus I see my brother has somehow kept you from getting here on time even though you picked the time?' regulus holds back a smirk as he see's Remus's face flush a bit before he pulls up his shirt collar.
"Not everyone is stuck single and lonely little bother" Regulus raises his eyebrow at his brother "Do you mean brother?" he crosses his arms as he narrows his eyes at his brother Sirius leans towards Regulus with a sickly sweet smile on his face "no I meant bother" lily steps between the two brothers with a quick step
"I think it's best if we go before everything we want is gone yes?" Lily says grabbing Sirius's arm pulling him out the door ignoring his protests, Remus following after them with a quick glance at Regulus who shoo's him with his hand as he grabs his bag and drink, he stops his steps to the door of the cafe when Potter steps in front of him with a bright smile.
"We could always go to the broom store together I know you need a new one" Regulus looks the boy up and down eyes catching on the still fading hickey from the last girl James Potter marked out with showing on the top of James's chest from the top of his shirt, he turns grabbing peters arm and pulling him out the door leaving James to speed walk after them when regulus lets the door close on his face.

peter looks behind him watching James fight through the crowd of other Hogwarts students shopping and can't help but feel pity for his best friend peter looks at Regulus who is still holding his arm "Don't you feel the slightest pity?" he can't help but ask if only to tell James he tried,
Regulus looks at him with a huff before he walks into a book store, Peter follows him in leaning against a bookshelf watching Regulus pull out books on the 4th-year student list he watches as Regulus looks at him with a huff putting the book he was holding down "James potter is an idiot okay? he can flirt with me all he wants but I'm not going to be with someone who kisses every girl and boy who catches his interest at every party he goes to"
Peter opens his mouth to defend his friend but finds he can't seem to find anything to dispel what Regulus has just said as it is true since his friend dated Lily and realized he's pansexual he's been wanting to experiment to see what kind of kissing and things he likes, he watches as Regulus watches him try to find something to say before Peter gives up with a quirk of his mouth
"damn can't defend my friend from what's true," he says as he sits down in the chair in the corner of the little space between the shelf picking up the potions book Regulus had been looking at before he talked he gets back up to look at the rest of the books with regulus he cant help but think of how much James will have to change about his partying if he truly wants to be with Regulus when he finds out Regulus loves the idea of being courted properly.
