I ducked when someone sent a fire ball over my head, missing me by an inch. I fought the soldiers with my earth, water and air. I couldn’t keep all the firebending away from me and let out a scream when my cheek got burned. I quickly cooled the burn mark with water before continuing fighting the soldiers who came at me until I was caught off guard by James searing through the air using his fire. My attention was drawn to him that I didn’t notice the man behind me creeping up and attacking me. I hiss in pain as I feel the heat of it’s fire lick at the skin on my arm. I then saw my other friends had managed to cross over the gap I created to keep them away, I should’ve know they would not let me fight this alone. I froze a few of my enemies but then I turned around and felt all the breath being knocked out of my lungs as I watch James being held with a knife against his throat by my uncle. Uncle Cygnus looked downright maniac as he pushed the tip of the knife further against James his adam’s apple as he ordered us to stop fighting. I was calculating which was the best way to handle the situation without bringing anyone else in trouble and save James. I saw Sirius shocked expression as he realized it was our deranged uncle threating James his life. “Let him go.” I tell my uncle as I take a step forward raising my arms readying to attack him. He turned his attention away from my brother focusing on me. I saw James his eyes telling me not to bring myself in danger in order to safe him but out of the corner of my eye I noticed Sirius move and before I realized what he was doing a water whip appeared out of thin air, wrapping around my uncle’s wrist. Sirius used his whip to pull Uncle Cygnus his hand that was holding the knife away from his best friend and used the strength to twirl my uncle to him. Then my uncle dropped his knife and used his other hand to catch him before he stabbed my brother in his stomach. I saw the smirk appear on the commander his face as my brother paled, gasping as his hands grabbed the knife sticking out of his belly. I heard myself scream in agony before I felt a surge of power seize through me. No one was touching my brother, I someone trying to take a hold of Sirius, the rational part of my mind recognized the sandy blond hair belonging to my earth bending teacher but the irrational part of my brain recognized everyone as a threat to my brother safety. I raised my hands and created a whirlwind cutting my brother off from anyone as I felt myself float higher. Anger coursed through me as I focused on the harbour where the ships Remus and James destroyed were docked. I nodded raised my chin before the water pulled back taking the ships with it away from the shore until they were deep enough were the would sink, swallowed by the sea as a sign the fire nation wouldn’t win here, they would be defeated, they would pay for taking my brother from me. I send a circle of fire around the soldiers burning all of them, killing them by her own element. My attentions suddenly was drawn towards my uncle who looked far too pleased with himself. I couldn’t control myself and felt my entire body shaking, I focused on him before using water from the sea to choke my uncle, water filled his nose, ears and throat cutting of his oxygen ending him once and for all. “ Regulus.” I hear someone call for me, but I couldn’t register the voice as I felt myself becoming detached from this world.
“Regulus.” Pandora appeared infront of me “You saved them, Come back to the present. You defeated the enemy and saved your friend, your family”
“Sirius is dead, I saw him get stabbed.”
“Not yet.” she answers “ Did I ever tell you about my adventure with the spirit of the ocean and the moon. The ocean and moon spirit manifested themselves in the mortal world as koi fish, they were yin and yang, they make sure the world is in balance. When I was avatar there was a vicious attack on the moon spirit almost causing it to die but because of a brave man’s sacrifice it survived. You see water benders believe the moon to be one of the original waterbenders and has healing abilities just like some waterbenders. The moon spirit saved the male when he was on the brink of death as a baby with her healing abilities and that brave man managed to return the favour when the moon spirit was dying. He saved the moon spirit in exchange of his own life and brought back balance to the world. His name was Xenophilius, He was the love of my life but he gave up his life in order to restore balance and I couldn’t bring him back to me since he was dead.”
“Why are you telling me this?” I ask her.
“Do you know where the ocean and moon spirit reside?”
Suddenly everything clicked “The spirit oasis in the northpole, Narcissa told me it’s water had magic abilities”
“Indeed, I couldn’t save Xeno but there is still time to safe your brother.” She gave me a soft smile “No one deserves to live in a world without those they loves”
“please” I hear Sirius his plea as I felt myself coming out of the avatar state. I descended down to my brother who was laying on the ground clearly in pain, his breathing quick and shallow. The wind was still separating him and us from the rest of our friends.
“I am here brother I whisper.” Placing a hand on his forehead “It’s going to be okay.”
“No it isn’t.” Sirius managed to choke out “I know injuries, I know there is no coming back from this even with healing powers.”
“I am not losing you.” I tell him before moving my hand to the knife in his stomach “I am going to try and safe you.”
“Wait.” Sirius stops me, his bloody hand grasping the one hovering above the knife “You have to tell them that I love them. Tell Dorcas and Lily that I couldn’t imagine my life without them in it. Tell James that he was the best friend and prison mate I could have and that he was my brother as well in any way that counts.” He coughs “Tell Remus, I love him and that I am sorry for not keeping my promise, please do not let him lose himself after he loses me.”
“None of them are losing you.” I was on the verge of tears now “You are not going anywhere, I need you brother.”
“It was always me who needed you.” Sirius whisper his hand clasping my arm “I love you brother.”
“No, I need you. You don’t get to leave me not again.” I cry before pulling the knife out with a swift movement making Sirius scream in pain. I grabbed the vial Narcissa gave me an poured it over the wound before placing my hand on it, bending the water mimicking the movement’s Sirius did when he healed someone. “You are not dying.” I scream at my brother as I noticed his eyes falling close “You can’t leave me, I love you brother do not abandon me again. I need you Siri.” The water glowed beneath my finger as I saw his skin healing beneath my fingers. I gasp in shock seeing the skin knit together making the injury look less worse than it was “You are going to be okay brother.” I reply before ripping a piece of my clothing to bind his wound, I did everything I could since I wasn’t a great healer like Sirius and I hoped the spirit water was enough to save my brother from the death. I felt my body becoming heavy now the adrenaline was wearing because the avatar state took it’s toll on my body. I grabbed my brother hand not planning to let him go as exhaustion overtook me and I passed out.
