Sirius p.o.v
“You are a waterbender.” I shout over the noise of the river towards Barty who was infront of me using the water to move forward as well.
“So are you apparently.” He smirked looking back over his shoulder before he suddenly stopped making me run into him as the impact made us tumble in the river.
“Why did you stop?” I groan as we used our waterbending to make it to the riverbank.
“This is where they got out.” Barty answers as he points to two pair of wet footprints walking away from the river bank. I sighed in relief knowing one of those trails would probably belong to my boyfriend. I also noticed Barty let out a breath he was holding.
“Do you think they are together?” I ask him.
“It wouldn’t surprise me.” Barty answers “Or Evan has captured your friend and is hauling him back to the camp.”
“Remus isn’t one to be overpowered quickly.” I tell him feeling the need to stand up for my boyfriend.
“Maybe it is the other way around then.” He replies “but I wouldn’t count on it.”
“This is a pointless discussion.” I roll my eyes “should we follow the footsteps or not.”
“Ofcourse we are going to follow the footsteps, are you stupid why wouldn’t we follow the only clue we have.”
I groan growing tired of the man with me “Let’s just go.”
“Maybe you should let me lead, I know the swamp better than you.”
“Go ahead.” I grit my teeth letting him walk infront of me. Barty gave me a smug smile before he took charge and gestured for me to follow him.
“So Sirius.” Barty speaks up as we continue to follow the trail “Where do you resided from and what brings you here?”
“The southpole.” I answer “My brother is the avatar and like we said before we are looking for those who want to aid us in the battle against the fire nation.”
“I will join.” Barty shrugs “it is about time the fire nation gets knocked of their high horse.”
“Then why were you so hostile towards us before?”
“Because you are strangers in our swamp, you know the name of our healer while we are a very private civilization and besides you were travelling with a firebender, so I think we had every right to be cautious.”
“Cautious yes, Hostile no.”
“it’s war Sirius, you never know who is friend or foe.”
“You have a point.”
“most of the time the things I say are true.” He smirks but then we heard someone call out Barty his name. We looked towards the direction the sound came from and saw Evan and Remus running towards us. Once Remus recognized me, his smile brightened and he started to run faster to get to me as soon as possible. He almost crashed into me as he wrapped his arms around me in a hug “You are okay, thank the lord, How are the others. You aren’t hurt right?”
“Slow down Love.” I tell him before looking him up and down for any injuries “We are all fine, I came here looking for you.”
Remus cupped my face in his hands before kissing me “I am not hurt, do not worry my star.”
When we pulled away from our kiss, I looked to the side to see Barty and Evan locking lips as well. I cleared my throat and Barty broke his kiss “Let’s go back to camp, I am sure the girls have arrived there already with your friends.”
“I think I have missed something.” Evan says “We are bringing them to the camp as guests? Not prisoners?” “Well I think we should hear them out first” Barty replies before taking Evan his hand in his and leading the way.
