Parties Aren't Fun Without You Next To Me
Maybe it was the loud music, the bright lights, the intoxicating smell of perfume from the girl next to him, who was sitting way too close to him but the party was overwhelming. Sure, parties normally were but this one was so much louder and bright. Evan hated parties. Not because he hated people, that was only part of the problem, he just hated how loud they got. Or maybe it was because he had to sit and watch Barty dance with people that weren’t him. He wasn’t the jealous type, especially for his best friend, a guy he wasn’t even sure was gay.
Pandora was sitting next to him, talking about their latest show they just performed in St. Louis, Missouri. It was a big show for them, probably the biggest crowd since they started a few years back. When they were all still in school together, Barty would write different songs about his life and once they all left high school, they started a band. None of them had ever thought they would make it as far as they did but they were slowly growing bigger and it was amazing. Even for someone like Regulus, who hated being the center of attention, was enjoying being on stage with his friends, being able to just enjoy himself and not have to worry what anyone else thought.
Evan was still listening to Pandora, he always was. He never tried to turn her out but at some point of her talking he quit focusing on her and more on the girl Barty was dancing with. The girl had long, black hair that fell to her lower back, and not to mention how hot she was. He wasn’t sure he had seen a prettier girl till he saw her. Maybe Barty would keep her around for more than a week. He never really had any interests in girls but the ones that Barty would occasionally date he would end up being good friends with before they dumped him.
However, tonight wasn't about Regulus or even Pandora. This was the first time in months he had gone out to an actual party. It didn’t matter how long they all went without parting thought. Barty always seemed to smell like vodka, and something about that made him crave for him more than already was. He normally made a point to keep his thoughts under control but maybe it was the alcohol in his system or how hot Barty looked, he couldn’t seem to keep his thoughts under control. ”I need my mouth on his, licking the bitter taste of the alcohol off of his lips. To tas-”
“Evan!”
A familiar voice pulled him from his thoughts.
“Evan, hey, I’m going to go find Regulus, are you alright to stay here?”
Pandora spoke up. She had poked him at least 4 times before he responded. Evan gave her a quick nod and weak smile before he went back to his thoughts. He was never this spacey but something about how good Barty looked in this lighting made it almost impossible for him not to think about him. ”I suppose it doesn't matter what girl he is dancing with because by the end of the night it'll be him and I. Barty and I in our shared hotel room and nobody else will see him in the state he is in other than me.” He was trying to keep himself relaxed and his face calm but when he felt hands on his legs, he froze. He was so deep in thought he didn't even realize Barty had walked over to him.
“Heyyy Evs”
Barty was obviously drunk off his ass so Even tried to keep that in mind when he started talking to him.
“Yeah Barty?”
He responded back with, a little more anxious than he would've liked. He wasn’t an anxious person but with Barty’s hands on him that was enough to make him lose his cool.
“Wanna dance?”
Barty’s voice was more soft than usual . It was a tone Evan had never heard Barty use before but oh god does he wish he could listen to him talk like that all day and night long. And later he would. Sometimes when they went out to parties and clubs, he seemed to forget that he didn’t matter who Barty went home with because at the end of the night, Barty would end up fast asleep in his hotel room, wrapped up in his bed sheets. It didn’t matter how many girls Barty decided to fuck, he would always end up back in Evan’s arms by the end of the night.
“Evvvv”
In the matter of seconds Barty was closed to him then before and Barty’s hand was gripped tightly around his.
“Absol- Yes. I mean yeah of course we can dance.”
Evan tried not to sound too desperate but when it came to Barty, he seemed to throw every ounce of self control out the window the moment he felt Barty’s hands on him. Before he could ever really take him through what was happening. Barty had drug him on the dance floor and we took his hand in his own.
DING DING!
DING DING!
Evan groaned as he sat up from his bed. His head hurt like a bitch and the last thing he remembered from the night before was Barty sneaking into his bed at some point during the night. He looked over and to no one's surprise he saw Barty, asleep under the blankets. He looked so vulnerable and relaxed when it was just the two of them. He liked knowing that he was one of the only people Barty felt himself being around. Sure, he was himself around all their friends but when it was just the two of them, Barty seemed to relax more, like he knew he didn’t have to try and keep up a reputation around them. He let out a soft sigh as he laid back down on the bed, staring up at the ceiling.
