PROLOUGE
If my parents would ask me about it, i probably wouldn't tell them the truth.
Because i don't want them to worry about me.
THE POTTER HOUSE was a complete mess at the moment, and particularly loud.
It was September 1st - which meant a new school year for the teenagers in the house and the beginning of a childless period for the parents.
Albus Potter used to love spending time with his family, but since Hogwarts that has changed drastically. He didn't necessarily want to say that he hated his family - because he certainly didn't. But he just felt out of place.
He had one person - with whom he felt comfortable without any pressure.
Scorpius.
Of course the secrecy got on his nerves, but if it had to be like that, then it would continue.
Anything was better for Albus than losing Scorpius.
His siblings, his cousins, who were also going to Hogwarts at the time, were at least nice enough to keep their mouths shut about Scorpius.
Albus was of course glad that they didn't tell him about Scorpius, but on the other hand, Albus knew full well that at some point this would go completely wrong and someone would talk.
And that would definitely have consequences for Albus.
He had already talked to his mother about the Slytherin was discussed and she wasn't even in a bad mood about the topic, but everyone in the family knew that Harry still couldn't really trust the Slytherins and was a little disappointed that Albus was sorted into Slytherin.
Albus preferred not to even start talking about Ron's attitude. Ron was very difficult to change his mind, but Hermione always managed to stop him from complaining about Slytherins.
The problem with the whole thing was that everyone who had been there at the Battle of Hogwarts in 1998 still had incurable trauma and could never really recover.
They were too young.
James knocked on Albus' door and then walked in. Albus turned away from his trunk and looked at James, who closed the door behind him and cast a silencing charm on the room.
James cleared his throat. "Albus. I wanted to talk to you about Malfoy. Look, I think-"
Albus slammed his trunk shut. This was the third time James had tried to talk him into something.
"I'm begging you, James. Just stop it!" Albus shook his head briefly, but unfortunately James didn't leave it at that.
"Albus, no. This friendship with Malfoy is a waste of time and you should really find other friends. True friends." James folded his arms and was really keen to change Albus' mind.
"What true friends, James? How many times, Scorpius is my only and my best friend. If you still can't see that, then I don't care and I want you to leave me alone. It's my life and my decision." Albus had adopted a confident posture.
James sighed loudly. "Since the first day of the first year, you've been hanging out with each other 24/7. And you still don't seem to be annoyed with each other, even though you spend every free second of your day together. I'm just worried about you." James now stood in front of Albus so that Albus had to look at him.
However, Albus was not in the mood for an argument and disappeared from his room as quickly as possible.
James' gaze wandered from the door to Albus' desk, where there was an unsealed letter. James immediately understood, of course, that this letter was from Scorpius. After all, he couldn't really use the Malfoy seal if the letter arrived at the Potter house.
James slowly walked towards the desk and raised his hand slightly, but pulled it back again within a second.
He couldn't do that. Even he knew that.
But maybe someday, if Albus still hadn't changed his mind.
