Lily Evan's red hair shimmered in the morning sunlight, glistening ever so beautifully. Her perfect lips, so soft and pink, moved as she chatted lively with her friends.
The great hall was buzzing with noisy students all causing their own scenes, yet, to Pandora, a spotlight was shining on the green-eyed girl.
Pandora stared from the opposite side of the Great Hall from the Slytherin table.
Although she was a ravenclaw, sat with the slytherins, they consisted of her brother and best friends after all.
Pandora didn't try to listen to her friend-group's ramblings today; she much preferred to marvel at Lily, the girl who she could never have but the one her heart craves.
Her unrequited love, as the poets say.
"Pandoraa, helloo~?" Barty said, waving a spoon infrount of her face, impatiently.
"Oh, sorry I must have zoned out." Pandora dreamily breathed, snapping out of her daze.
She found it in herself to smile at the fact that Evan and Barty were gripping each other's hands tightly. Atleast her brother had found love.
"Looking at a certain red-head?" Dorcas asked, teasingly, before stuffing her mouth with freshly buttered toast. That statement effectively grabbed the groups attention; each of them looked at her expectantly.
Pandora just gave her friends a wishful sigh and nodded, her hand lazily supporting her head. This caused blonde strands to fly over her shoulders and onto the table of food, Regulus gave her one of his grumpy states, before walking behind her and gently tying up her hair, his hands so delicate that she was able to imagine they were Lily's.
Pandora allowed herself to be stuck in that day dream until it was time for potions, the first class of this seemingly gloomy day.
As the hours wore on, Pandora's thoughts lingered on Lily so she barely noticed when the day had ended. Time moved so fast these days.
Pandora, who was now sitting with her friends on a patch of grass near the black lake, hugged her knees to her stomach and remembered those fleeting moments when she had seen Lily in the halls. How Lily's face lit up when she greeted Pandora, how Lily grinned when talking to Remus Lupin.
Every single memory of Lily was pathetically carved into Pandora's mind, playing over and over again.
Even the sun, currently setting over the lake, reminded her of Lily's incredible beauty. Or how the sunset couldn't even compare to Lily's smile. Luckily the arrival of Regulus' sun snapped her out of her thoughts.
"My my, what are you five doing by the lake? After curfew may I add?" The Head boy playfully scolded, grinning with his eyes pinned on his boyfriend.
James Potters grin was evident when he tackled Regulus in a hug, whom let a small smile escape his mask. The two boys bantered naturally, Regulus eventually ending up sitting in between James' legs, with his boyfriends head on his shoulder.
Pandora closed her eyes for a moment and imagined it was her and Lily. Would the two of them banter like James and Regulus? Would they sit on each other's laps like Evan and Barty? Or would they be content with gazing into each other's eyes for hours like Marlene and Dorcas.
Pandora didn't know.
Because for all her imagining, Pandora can barely manage a conversation with the girl without becoming redder than the gryffindor scalf the beauty wore in the winters.
"Is everything alright, Panda?" Evan, who had moved away from Barty to lay near her, asked her softly, and all she could do was nod and smile, while she tried to ignore the ache in her heart.
How was she to explain that the one she wants is the one she could never have.
There isn't a enough words with strong enough meaning which can display her emotions, so she says nothing and lies with a smile and nod.
