Chapter 2
If anything could explain everything that happened after that incident, it would be chaos. No, maybe even worse.
First off, their best friend, Harry's Godfather, Sirius Black, gets accused of leaking their location to Voldemort. James wanted to, so badly, go to the ministry, defend Sirius, and come back with him. But they couldn't reveal themselves, unless...
'We could write a letter, don't you think, James?'
James stared at Lily in the most polite way possible. 'Not possible at all.' he thought, and then the same words came out of his mouth. Lily stared back. 'C'mon, James, what can we do? The ministry definitely doesn't keep secrets, well..the news people don't, but-' James interrupts, 'Lily, how in the world can we get the ministry," he exaggerates the last word, 'to trust a silly letter? they would shove it off as a childish letter, even a disgrace and offence to the Potters.' He stops to take his breath. 'Lily, I don't think-'
'Sirius is innocent! I hate seeing him have to suffer for something he did not do! He's our friend, Padfoot!' Lily yells, while on the verge of tears. She hated seeing her friends hurt.
James quickly embraces her in a hug, in the same condition as her, teary-eyed and enraged, and mumbles out 'It's okay, we'll do something, yes-'
They tried.
But in the end, Sirius Black was proven guilty, and therefore-
send off to Azkaban.
Lily remembers finally hearing the loud cries of her husband, James, and tries decide to go to the ministry to prove the decision wrong. 'We have to go, Lily.' he cried out, 'We can't leave him in that so-called hell.' Didn't listen to me. did you? Lily thought, but decided to shrug these thoughts away, and hugged James. He still continued sobbing, imagining his best friend, Padfoot, Sirius, in Azkaban was...
Second off, It was Harry's fifth birthday.
James remembers the whole day that Lily was mourning over her son, wondering where he was, hoping to god that her son was safe, and imagining the life they could have had together. James was in the same condition too, but was comforting his wife. It was a difficulty both were facing.
They missed their son, more than anything.
And finally, they were living in the Muggle world.
Lily was familiar with it, while James tried his hardest to not pull out his wand and make 50% of the things easier. Seriously, he thought, How do people live like this? It was strange for both of them, but it had to be done. They had to survive. Maybe come to Harry at the right time. Come back to the wizarding world again.
Everything will be fixed at the right time.
