Hermione stared at the ring, frowning. Like some sort of reverse talisman, it had felt heavy from the beginning.
Perhaps, that was the first sign she ignored. She dropped it into the envelope.
Her finger felt as light as her shoulders as she sent everything back to Ron’s lawyer.
