Chapter 2
About an hour into the party and the two houses decided to combine the party because they figured why not make the most of the space, the Slytherin’s original side was used for conversation and some music in the background whereas the Gryffindor’s original side was used for the life of the party. Of course Regulus stayed on the Slytherin side with his fire whiskey talking with whomever came up to him.
About a half hour later Dorcas decided it was time to drag Regulus to the Gryffindor side
“D please don’t do this” Regulus whined
“You need to stop being so antisocial then!” Dorcas said
“I was socializing!”
“No, you talked to people who talked to you. You never initiated the conversation and you never would have”
“Smart ass” Regulus said under his breath
“I would argue with you but there’s no point and besides it’s only like a half hour until the game starts”
“D, don’t make me do this, please!!” Regulus complained
“Maybe I wouldn’t if you got out more but too bad so sad”
They go over to the party side and meet up with Barty and Evan over at the drink table. Of course the two are already drunk and decided to make out even though they are in public for everyone to see.
“Oi, you two! Break it up, that’s disgusting” Regulus fake gags
“You just wish that you and James could make out like us” Barty quips
“No need to feel jealous Reggie because from what I hear that Dorcas has planned you and him will be making out by the end of the night” Evan replies
“Like I should trust D, what even makes you think that he reciprocates my feelings? Besides I’m not playing that stupid game and you two are blocking the drinks” Regulus says annoyed
“Oh trust me, you’re playing and there’s no way I’m letting you get out of it that easily. I’ve been working my ass off to get this to work and I have spies on the inside.” Dorcas says smugly
Indeed she did have spies on the inside, you see because Lily and Pandora are dating and Evan and Pandora are twins, Pandora is at the party without Regulus’ knowledge because if he knew that Panda was there then he would have run for the hills already.
“Whatever, it’s not like you actually have any Gryffindor friends so I’m not worried about it. I’m going to go find Remus and maybe Lily to rant.” Regulus says tiredly
“Wait! You can’t find Lily because I think she already left to go and… and study or find Panda!” Evan practically shouts
“Lily. Lily Evans the queen of drinking games left a party. To go and.. study? I think we have two very different Lily’s that we’re talking about right now. Because I’m pretty sure that if she wasn’t gay then she would be dating James from how much they party. The only difference is that Lily actually gets her work done on time with A’s on them and James never turns them in at all.” Regulus deadpanned
“You’re right but I think I did see her leave with a certain gaze in her eyes if you know what I mean” Barty jumps in
“You’re probably right then, she probably did go to fuck Panda. I guess I’ll go and find Remus then” Regulus sighs
“I think I saw him by the chocolate fountain” Dorcas says
“Thanks bitches and see ya!” Regulus shouts
Regulus walks over to Remus who is currently snogging Sirius and just stands there until they break it up.
“Merlin Reggie! Were you always this big of a creep? You can’t just wait until tomorrow to talk to Remus? I was quite enjoying myself and I don’t know if you noticed but Remus was as well” Sirius complains
“Oh well excuse me for wanting to talk to my friend” Regulus snaps
“Well he’s my boyfriend so I think I have more rights than you to be talk to him!” Sirius whines
“Well he’s my friend so we have more stuff in common and besides you weren’t even doing anything productive! All you were doing was snogging each other which does nothing in the end. Sure, maybe you’ll fuck later tonight but other than that it’s nothing out of the ordinary!”
“Hate to say it Pads but he’s got you there” Remus butts in.
“Fineee, I guess I’ll go and find Prongs cause I’m sure he’s being more fun than you two” Sirius says
With that Sirius leaves the two, allowing for Regulus to rant about how Dorcas was forcing him to be there at the party and how she’s going to force him to play the game even though he’s probably just going to run when it comes time. The game is only about 10 minutes away so if he escapes now then Dorcas won’t be able to catch him when she realizes he left.
“Anywho I’m going to escape now before Dorcas realizes and tries to make me play but hope you get laid tonight I guess?” Regulus says ending the conversation.
“And I hope you escape as well” Remus says while laughing
With that Regulus takes off, weaving through the dwindling numbers of people. It’s significantly less than before but enough that it hides him well. Once he gets outside he starts walking in the direction of the lake, wanting to take a walk to clear his mind.
“Regulus Arcturus Black!!! Get back here this instant!!!” Dorcas screeches.
Of course Regulus takes off running at that because who is he to not take off running when he doesn’t want to get caught. All of a sudden strong arms wrap around him and keep him still. Regulus is unable to move an inch. Regulus’ breathing is labored and of course it has to be him who catches him out of all people. Regulus looks up to see him smirking and just as Regulus is about to protest, he says…
