Chapter 4
-James-
I hear a knock on the door. Remus goes to get it.
“James, it’s for you,” Remus says, when he comes back.
“Oh, alright then,” I say while getting off of my bed and heading towards the door. “Regulus, what are you doing here?” I ask as soon as I see him.
“We need to talk,” he says, as he drags me out of the room. When we walk out of the dorm building, he ushers me to follow him. We walk towards the rugby field. When we get there, we sit down together. There’s a silence between us for a few moments.
“Why did you save me?” Regulus asks, finally breaking the silence.
“Well I-“ I start to say but stop.
“I Why, James?” Regulus asks again. I sit there in silence. Why did I save him? He’s Sirius’ younger brother, and anyways, Sirius hates him. Do I fancy him? No- I don’t like blokes… Do I? Shit. I think I might. I look over at him. His misty grey eyes, his pale skin. His dark, curly hair that I wish I could just run my hands through and- nope, nope, nope. Shit. I fancy Regulus Black.
“James?” Regulus finally says, interrupting my thoughts, “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, sorry,” I respond, “I saved you because I- well I think I-“ I get cut off by Regulus kissing me. He tugs me towards him by my shirt and kisses me. His lips are warm and soft on mine, and taste like mint.
“Hey, James I saw you walk over here with Regulus and I- OI WHAT THE-“ a voice says. Regulus and I quickly break away, as I turn to see who it is. Remus fucking Lupin. “You two…” Remus starts to say but stops and mumbles, “I gotta go.” He runs off quickly. I turn around to look for Regulus, but he isn’t there.
-Regulus-
I run away just as Remus leaves. Shit shit shit, I shouldn’t have kissed him… I knew it would end terribly. I mean- I don’t even think he likes boys, let alone me. I run to my dorm and quickly open and close the door. I never should’ve kissed him, he probably hates me now and- my thoughts are interrupted by Barty screaming my name.
“Regulus! You’re back!” he yells. Evan peeks out from behind his bed curtains.
“Why’ve you been gone so long? What happened?” Evan asks.
“Well,” I start to say as I explain everything that happened.
“Wow,” Evan says as I finish talking, “we were worried about you mate.”
“Wait a second, did you say that Poster saved you? As in THE James Potter? Your brother’s best friend?” Barty asks.
“Well… yeah,” I mumble.
“Ooh- wait are you blushing? Do you fancy James Potter?” Evan asks.
“Well… I may or may not have kissed him…” I mumble.
“YOU SNOGGED JAMES POTTER?” Barty yells.
“Maybe…” I respond.
“Oh my gosh, we have to get you two together or something,” Evan exclaims.
“No- not now. For now let’s just go get dinner,” I say as we head towards the canteen.

“Regulus?” I look around but he isn’t there. Dang it. I knew I shouldn’t have kissed him back. And the fact that Remus caught us… oh shoot. He’s gonna tell Sirius. At that moment I get up and run. I run straight to the dorm and don’t stop. As soon as I get to the dorm, I rush inside.
“Hey, James!” Peter says, as soon as he sees me.
“Hey, have you seen Remus and Sirius anywhere?” I ask.
“They went to get dinner at the canteen, why?” Peter replies.
“No reason, gotta go,” I say as I run out of the dorm to the canteen. When I finally get to the canteen I spot Remus and Sirius laughing at our usual table. When Sirius sees me he waves and ushers me over.
“Hey James!” Sirius says, “how’re you doing?”
“Good, thanks,” I reply. Maybe Remus didn’t tell him anything.
“Erm, James? Can I talk to you? Privately?” Remus asks.
“Sure,” I say as Sirius gets up and leaves to give us privacy.
“James, why were you snogging Regulus Black?”
