Friends? (Draco/Harry)
Draco had Initially called Harry bug because Draco thought he was annoying, but as he watched Harry closer, he realized that he really seemed like he was alone, that even Hermione and Ron didn’t really care about what he did or what happened. They used him like a trophy to get away with things, the muggleborn being actually respected and the weasel getting things his family doesn’t have money for because Harry would buy it for him. They used him and he didn’t see it, and that bothered him for some reason. If this was supposed to be the one who saves everyone then he should also have someone right? Draco went out of his way to bother Harry the next few days just to try and keep an eye on him, he told most other Slytherins to leave him alone as well, seeing as he seemed to need the space.
After a few days Draco started to seek Harry out, not to mess with him but to check on him because he stopped seeing him in classes and the corridors. He found him in an abandoned classroom that wasn’t passed often so he was just alone. Harry’s head shot up as he heard the door open wiping his tears away as he did so thinking it was someone random.
“Harry?” Draco asked tentatively
“What do you want? Did you come to make fun of me like the others?” Harry snaps
“No, I was worried, I haven't seen you in a few days, and it didn’t seem like your friends cared at all.” Draco responded quietly
“What?” Harry says puzzled “They don't care?”
“It didn’t seem like it. They have been laughing and joking around more and seem almost happier that your not there.” draco said sadly
“I don’t believe you, you didn’t want me to be their friends in the first place you would lie to me just to pull me away from them.” Harry said scornfully
“I wouldn’t do that i will say the offer of being friends is still on the table though.” he said hopefully
“I dunno…” he paused as he heard voices coming down the hallway as if he didn’t wanna be heard. It sounded like two or three voices. They weren’t close enough to be heard yet but both draco and harry moved slowly towards the door to see if they could hear the conversation. They heard voices that they knew but could quite tell who they were as they started hearing a little of their conversation.
“Do you think we can?” was the first think they heard from a male voice
“He can’t be too far, we’ve looked almost everywhere else!” A female voice said sounding exasperated, one Harry felt like he should know.
“There is so much better things to be doing, we all have homework, and we could be studying so when we come back we aren’t as far behind.” said the First voice they both could place Hermione
“Ugh, all you ever wanna do is study though” said Ron
“Dumbledore said we need to find Harry, we should be doing that, maybe we could steal the twins map?” Ginny said
“Why do we even need to find him right now? It's not like there is anything we need him for at the moment.” Ron responded, “It's amazing flying weather out we could be doing that Gin.”
Harry’s heart shattered as he realized his two best friends really didn’t like him, he stumbled away from the door trying not to cry as everything came crashing down around him.
“Harry, Bug” Draco whispered as he wrapped Harry in a tight hug trying his best to comfort him. “My offer is still there. I'm willing to be your friend or someone for you to just vent to.”
